Spending his childhood in the Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon, Jack Costa entered the wine trade at 17, learning winemaking from Stephen Reustle, a pioneer of American Gruner Veltliner. Jack attended Washington State University, enrolling in the Enology and Wine Business programs. Jack is a writer, wine judge, podcaster and communicator, being featured in publications from the Wine Folly to the American Wine Society Journal. He lives in Southern Oregon and can be found at wineheretics.com.
