WHAT DOES TARGET DO WITH YOUR REDcard PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Why?

Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

What?

The types of personal information we collect and share depends on the product or service you have with us. This information can include:

- social security number and income
- purchase history and payment history
- credit history and credit scores

How?

All financial companies need to share customers' personal information to run their everyday business. In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers' personal information; the reasons Target chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing.

New REDcard holders: You will receive a privacy notice with your card. It will include a mail-in opt out form and a toll-free opt out number.


Existing REDcard holders: You will receive a privacy notice annually. It will include a mail-in opt out form and a toll-free opt out number.


Please note:
If you are a new customer and for those circumstances where you can prohibit our sharing, we may begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer our customer, we can continue to share your information as described in this notice.
However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.

Who we are

Who is providing this notice?

This privacy policy is provided by Target Corporation ("Target"). It applies to the REDcard family of products issued by Target National Bank (Target® Visa® Credit Card and Target Credit Card® ) and Target Corporation (Target Debit CardTM ).

What we do

How does Target protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does Target collect my personal information?

We collect your REDcard personal information, for example, when you
- open an account or give us your contact information
- pay your bills or give us your income information
- use your credit or debit card

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only
- sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness (Target does not share this type of information with its affiliates)
- sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more on your rights under state law.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Our affiliated businesses include: Target National Bank, Target Bank, Target Stores and Web sites and Target Commercial Interiors®.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
- Nonaffiliates we share with may include vendors of products and services that
  you have purchased, or that we believe will be of interest to you, financial service
  providers or Non-profit organizations, such as those involved with education.

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
- Our joint marketing partners may include other banks, investment firms or
  insurance companies.

Other imporant information

Vermont Residents: We automatically treat consumers with a Vermont mailing address as if you have opted out of the sharing of REDcard personal information with nonaffiliates as described above.


California Residents: We automatically treat consumers with a California mailing address as if you have opted out of the sharing of REDcard personal information with nonaffiliates as described above. In addition, we share other types of REDcard personal information with Target affiliates only as permitted by California law.
