Expensive, but worth it. I felt ripped off at first, but it takes a couple of minutes for the bulb to warm up if it is in a cold room. Once warm, they give off the same light as regular bulbs, with very little heat. I'm actually worried that my gas bill might go up because I can't heat the basement with flood lights anymore. Dim does not work when bulbs are cold.
Does not fit in recessed light housing. Base is too fat. Also the glass bubble around the CFL spiral is incredibly thin and cracked almost immediately. I would never recommend this bulb to anyone, unless you enjoy flushing money down the toilet.
