We had a problem with our mattresses molding once we moved from San Diego to Portland OR. Gross, I know, but we just didn't keep our house warm enough to prevent it I guess. So we bought this queen Aerobed at Target as a temporary solution until the weather warmed up and we planned to get a new mattress. However we quickly found that the mattress was more comfortable than any other mattress we'd ever owned (springs or foam). We decided to just keep going on it until it died, fully expecting an air mattress to not be able to handle daily full time use. We also have a cat and so far she's not popped it with her long claws. (We do use a thin allergy-type mattress pad to try to protect it from her.)So far it's been about 8 months and we've had no leaks. It holds the air really well, we barely have to add air once a month! We've found through experimentation with camping air mattresses that generally you have to add air more frequently in the beginning, as the mattress plastic stretches out a bit in the beginning, and that held true with this one as well. We were adding air daily, then a couple times a week, then weekly, and now almost never. We've gone through many camping air mattresses, including good brand names like Coleman, and ended up bottoming out on them all night after night. We've never had that issue with this one, even on the very first night. It can also get much firmer than any other air mattress we've tried. The air pump is fast and stops automatically when the mattress is deemed inflated, so you don't have to guess. Then you can just figure out from that point how much more or less air/firmness you like personally. We also really like the horizontal "coils", and if you get yourself in the right place top-to-bottom, you have fantastic back support. I want to get a second one so it'll be ready to go when the cat eventually pops this one. If she doesn't do that, I think this will pretty much last forever. SO satisfied!!
