I have assembled many items in my handy women days. I read the instructions over and over they didn't make sense so I put them together the only way possible which was not hard after figuring it out on my own. The screws are very difficult to get in with a hex they wouldn't align correctly and when I could get them in my hand was killing me from assembling them. I gave them a 4 rating because they are well made as far as the quality for the price. The stool I put together has silver marker on the leg that will not come off. The stools scratch my wood floor so I will have to return them anyway. I didn't bother putting the second one together as the first one was so difficult. see less

You get exactly what you see. Unlike the review on here that said they were at it for over an hour and couldn't figure out how to get the top of the stool on the legs, it is actually pretty easy. Just follow the directions. I think maybe they tightened everything before putting the top on. After assemble it feels really sturdy. I had to return some we bought at [..] because they were very wobbly after I put them together. see less

I bought two of these counter height stools for my kitchen. They are perfect. They are the correct height and fit the space nicely. The stools were easy to put together with the detailed instructions. The only issue was that the holes in one of the legs were drilled incorrectly, so when assembled, the foot rail was crooked. I had to take back the stool and exchange it for another one, but I was going to shop at Target anyway, so it was no big deal. Sturdy, good looking stools at a reasonable price. I'm glad I bought them. see less

We ordered three of these barstools for our kitchen. I was worried when I read some of the reviews that talked about them being difficult or time consuming to put together. This was not the case! We had them put together in no time and they are very nice. I find the color to be very similar to the picture as well. Shipping was quick also. These stools put together in other stores are very expensive. Bought all three for the price of one at a furniture store. see less

For the price, this stool was hands down a pleasant surprise. It actually works, is not wobbly, fairly comfortable and style is ok on the eyes. Of course, if you look closely you will see that its no an expensive piece- vinyl will never look like leather, the chrome is cheesy i.e. its not real chrome, etc. but I could not ask for more. It works well, and perfect for the price. It was also available at the stores which gave me more confidence being able to try it out in person. I can recommend. see less

We just put these together and they are so nice in real life. They are perfect for our needs, especially with three messy boys. We've been looking for a well priced, stylish swivel bar stool for our breakfast bar for a few months now and I happened to check Targets website after searching on Craigslist and other department stores. We wanted something durable yet aesthetically pleasing. These bar stools have exceeded our expectations with the style, versatility and price. You will not be disappointed, unless you're mechanically incapable because you do have to put them together. The instructions are super easy and I love step #7. I just put these together last night and I love these so much! I can't believe they're this high quality and beautiful while still being so cheap! They're very easy to put together, very sturdy, and very nice-looking. Of course, I haven't even had them up for 24 hours yet, but I can't find anything I don't like about these. The cushions are comfortable and very supportive. The legs and back are very sturdy as well. Some previous reviewers have mentioned that the legs are not all the same length-- I haven't noticed that at all, but I do have my chairs on carpet and not on a hard floor. It's possible to put these together by yourself, but it is a bit easier with two people. I very highly recommend these for anyone. see less

These stools look great at our kitchen island. It's nice that they're adjustable, but the lower height is perfect for us. The assembly for all 3 took about 1.5 hours. We looked on craigslist for about a month before giving up and getting these, which look very nice and are a better price than most of the things we saw on craigslist. I would definitely recommend getting this stool set. see less

I bought one of these this morning, went to put it together this afternoon and had 2 right legs rather than one right and one left. So, I packed it back up, brought it back and got a new one this evening. Brought it home and went to put it together... One of the legs had a HUGE KNOT in the wood and right in the center of it was a hole for one of the cross-bars, key to the stability & safety of the product. The wood was jagged & split from one side of the leg to the opposite side. The wood was cracked about 1mm down into the wood. It seems this defect was noticed by the manufacturer because the wood was "touched up" with a red dye over this area, rather than the Dark Tobacco. I'm super disappointed and, quite frankly, annoyed. I'm returning the second one tomorrow morning and will search elsewhere. It's too bad because the one on display in the store is nice and this would have gone well with our table. So, word of caution, CHECK THE PRODUCT BEFORE PUTTING IT TOGETHER! see less

We bought 2 of these chairs and, once assembled, they look very good and are comfortable. However, a number of the brackets were bent and lining them up to insert and drive in the screws was very difficult. It took two people to get this part of the job done. My comment here is that quality control on the manufacturer's part leaves something to be desired. Overall, the chairs look good and we've received compliments on them. see less

I really like these barstools, I had been searching for quit awhile for the perfect ones. We did have to return one because the screw and hole did not line up, but it was easy to return and everything else was fine. So make sure you dont throw away the box until they are all put together. see less

My daughter has three girls under 5 and was looking for counter stools for a breakfast bar. There are cabinets on either side so there was a finite amount of space. Only ones she found where she liked the style and felt they were safe and sturdy for the girls were [$] each. I saw the Carey counter stools on the Target website and emailed the info to her. She loved the design which was very similar to the more expensive ones so we ordered them. The three stools came in two days, were simple to put together and are very sturdy and well made. She has had them for about 2 months now and is very pleased. And the THREE stools cost the same as ONE of the more expensive stools. She, her husband and the girls are all delighted! see less

I bought these stools about 4 years ago and I Love them! We sit on them everyday 2 adults and 2 highly active kids... sometimes dog, too!! They have really withstood the test of time. They have a few minor nicks at the bottom where toys cars, etc. have banged in to them repeatedly but otherwise, every month or 2 I give them a good cleaning and they look good as new. No wobbling or anything. I highly recommend for the price. see less

We really like these chairs. It's hard to tell by the picture but the wood along the top side of the back is very beautiful brown and I'm not sure if the seat is real leather or not, but also, a very nice brown color. It was a added bonus as it matched my other furniture perfectly! The chairs caught my eye because of the back detail, the incredible discounted price and we had free freight so I got them. And, we're swivelers and they swivel. Very sturd and not bulky. see less

I ordered three for my breakfast bar which is 42" high. I did alot of research trying to find a chair that was the right height for my bar. I've purchased chairs before that were not tall enough to give the classy look I was going for. Well, in my hubby's words " I scored with these chairs"! They are the perfect height and they look very nice, classy and looks like I spent waaaay more than I did. Now that's my kinda purchase! The only downside was that in the picture the iron legs & back look dark, more like a black or black/brown mix and it's actually more goldish, I wasn't really expecting that but nonetheless this was an awesome buy and I'm quite happy!! see less

First and foremost, I LOVE the appearance of these chairs! I feel like the pattern is modern and classy and they work perfectly for my tall eat-in kitchen table. My only complaint is that these chairs, after assembled which took about 1-2 hours for 4 of them, are a bit wobbly. All the correct parts were used and my husband put them together correctly, yet they are still a little shaky when you touch/move them. They have held everyone who's sat in them just fine, I would've just preferred them to be a bit more stable. see less

purchased one chair back in the fall as I wasn't sure it would be the right height, description on website not clear. I love putting stuff together but this chair made me want to throw it out the window. I had to call in help and together we managed to get the chair done. The screws were extremely difficult to "catch" in the groove. but once done the chair was perfect. I needed another chair and waited until target offered [...] shipping plus it went on [...]. I managed to get this chair together with no issues, however once done, it was not even. I stuck an extra felt floor protector to the botton of the leg that was shorter and it seemed to do the trick. I don't think the price matches the construciton of the chair. If I had paid [$] I probably would have just shrugged my shoulders and let it go, therefore I only gave it 4 stars. Chairs are very true to picture. Fabric appears to be a washable, durable surface. They were not the easiest to put together, but once finished they seem to be very structurally sound. We had a little wobble problem with them, but a some felt pads took care of it. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and absolutly love the look of them! see less

Purchased these stools for a kitchen counter. After assembly, these stools cannot be beat for quality for the price. Very nice neutral color, and the seat pad is very thick and comfy. In my search for a functional stool, this is probably the cheapest. Comparable ones at a local furniture store would have set me back about [$] each. I spent [$] on both. Assembly is key to this stool. Easy enough to put together. The first took about 20 minutes if that. Then the 2nd was 10 min. It may wobble at first but like many things tightened with screws, it needs to be re-tightened. After a week of normal use, I re-tightened it. All is good now and the wobble is gone. I've had this for a couple of months and so far, I've been happy. see less

These stools are a great find and easy to put together! Just be sure to follow the directions, align parts carefully and evenly. Tighten each screw a little at a time moving from screw to screw. This ensures even alignment. Don't tighten one screw all at once! Also, be mindful of which side of the swivel mechanism should be facing you. I can imagine how installing that upside down could cause a problem and may be the reason for some of the poor reviews.. just sayin. [..................] These stools are very similar to many of the higher priced stools so I would highly recommend them especially for the price. They are light-weight too but sturdy. see less
