Recieved this camera for christmas eve and was so excited to take pictures on christmas day! When I started up camera it kept saying lens error! Over and over the lens wouldnt open! I was devastated when Christmas day arrived the camera suddenly opened and worked. Now days later it right back to lense error. So I will be returning it ,but love how easy it was to use. I was a nikon user before and I like the set up of canon better. Hopefully it was just a glinch and not all canon are like this. see less

I have an iphone 4s that takes incredible pictures and is very handy since I'm always with my phone. I did, however, want a camera to take on a recent vacation. I found this little gem at my local Target marked down and decided I had to scoop it up. Man am I glad that I did! This camera is small enough to throw in my purse yet can take some of the most stunning photos. I joke with my friends that they'll all look like supermodels when I take their photo with this camera. So true! I really like the fact that I can be walking and take a picture at the same time....and the picture comes out clear and focused. No blurs... I've enjoyed this camera for the past 4 months and think anyone else thinking of buying it should definitely do so. Great buy, thanks Target! see less

The SX50 is my fourth digital camera purchased to complement my Canon SX 130 because of the lens. Since I purchased the camera I have taken over 200 pictures testing the lens and camera capabilities. Buy this camera for the lens, RAW images, high ISO, a burst speed of about 10 fps and image stabilization as well as a hot shoe in addition to the built in flash. It takes wonderful pictures. The controls are simple for a beginner and give you almost all of the manual options that you desire. Although I was excited by the still pictures, the video is astounding with great audio capability. Despite image stabilization, you need a steady hand at the maximum zoom. A tripod was very useful. I also noted some atmospheric fog when shooting outside at maximum zoom. Macro shots were crisp and clear with the fast lens catching the quick moving children, puppy and tropical fish without problem. I wish it did not have a proprietary battery but the battery has held up well without a recharge to date. see less

I purchased the two leading ultrazooms the Canon Powershot SX50 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ200. The Canon has the 50x zoom lens whereas the Panasonic has the constant f2.8 24x zoom lens. Both are excellent cameras. If you prefer a high powered zoom, the highest available at this time, plus all of the features wanted in a digital camera eg. RAW capability, hot shoe for flash, etc. this is the camera to get. I have had it for about 2 months and I'm amazed at its performance. And it does remarkably well in low light and at low iso. Whether you're on vacation, hiking, biking, birding, train spotting, at sporting events, whatever, this camera is easy to carry and does what you want a camera to do under diverse lighting conditions. I highly recommend the Canon Powershot X50 Digital Camera. see less

I am not a paid reviewer to praise or slam this product like the previous ones appear to be. I am in a digital photography class at the local college. I had a PowerShot A30, but it couldn't do all the requirements of class. I saw another Canon that was a step up from mine. It was [$]. Price was right, but the features and quality weren't what I needed. I considered a Rebel for a good chunk of change, but I wanted to cry when I saw the price tag. Then I found this camera. The price still made me tear up a bit, but it had what I needed for class. I've had a blast with this one! It's awesome to be able to control my shutter speed and aperture manually, which was the first assignment for photography class and my old A30 couldn't do. One person previously said her pics were grainy. If that's the case, she needs a photography class, too, because I have crystal-clear quality with mine! see less

I have only had my new camera a couple of days but am loving it so far. I had a Canon ELPH 110 and gave it away as a gift to my daughter so when replacing my old camera I read several reviews and this one appeared to be a bit better replacement. So glad I did - more bells and whistles. Love the WiFi feature - it keeps my husband busy learning all the newest and greatest functions. The picture color seems to be very bright and true to life. Great camera for the money! Love it. see less

My old camera finally died so I needed to replace it. I found this while searching online. I decided to buy this one based on the reviews here and I am glad I did. The camera is a great fit for me. Easy to use. I have had no problem with the WiFi. I was able to connect the very first try. THe picture quality is great and the battery life is very good. I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants a small easy to use camera. see less

I bought this camera a few months ago and I love it! The touch screen is really cool and the picture quality is wonderful. Canon does an excellent job and their cameras last a long time (my previous Canon lasted me 5 years before it FINALLY died and I could buy a new one :P ) but it served me so well it was a bargain. My only wish is that this camera were a little less expensive so that more people could enjoy it...but with all the great features it is worth paying full price if you can manage it! Getting one, even slightly used, for a bit of a discount would be the best way to go if you can find one! see less
