This is the best mug I've bought. Without a doubt. And I've had my share of mugs. Everything about it is great, so great that I ended up buying a second one for my best friend and he loves it as well. I like that it keeps my drinks cold for a long time, it saved me at school and it wasn't a hassle to carry because I'd just attach it to my backpack. Love love love it! :) see less

This mug really is splendiferous. I tried another mug from Target the 'Senja Desktop Mug' (http://www.target.com/Senja-Desktop-Mug -Stainless-Steel/dp/B00149QDQ6/ref=sc_qi _detailbutton) and its performance pales in comparison to the Contigo Extreme. The Senja kept it warm for a bit, but not like the Contigo.In most normal coffee mugs, that are not vacuum sealed double walled, you have nice hand warmers in addition to a coffee mug. However, this mug fails at warming your hands. In fact, there is no heat transmitted to the outside on the walls, atleast as far as your hand sensors can tell. The only thats lost is through the sip hole, but even that can be closed to keep your drink hot for a long time. The ONLY downfall that I have noticed after about a month and a half is that the flip top, what you use to open or close the sip hole, seems kind of flimsy. I dont use it much, but it seems that it is already starting to wear a bit. However, even if this part broke off, the cup would be completely usable still. The lid seems to be holding well. One piece of advice: Dont try to HULK the lid on tight. Just seal it to the point of tightness and I am guessing that you wont destroy any seals, like other people seem to have noticed. I have owned this coffee mug for two months and use it daily. It really is spill-proof! I was skeptical about that claim and am constantly trying to make it spill over the sink, but it never does. I put just-brewed coffee in there and two and a half hours later it's at the perfect temperature (just underneath the point where it would burn my tongue). When I want to drink it earlier, I just leave the top open and it cools down in a few minutes. Also I find the carribeaner clip to be very handy- I have attached it to my purse, backpack, jean loop, etc and it never falls off or spills. After two months of continuous use including a voyage down a flight of cement stairs, it looks almost brand new. Very durable.The only con about it is that it absorbs the coffee smell/taste but I think all coffee mugs have that and I've found it can be easily remedied with some baking soda overnight. Although I was hesitant at buying the relatively expensive product at first, this mug is definitely worth the twenty bucks. I am thinking about buying a second one. see less

I ordered this cup last month and had it shipped to Afghanistan. I use it every single day. It keeps coffee hot [...] and the lid screws on tight. It travels all around the country easily either in my hand or clipped on my ruck sack. I would highly recommend it, as it will most likely be the last traveling mug you'll ever buy. see less

1st lid broke within a co ... see more

1st lid broke within a couple months, as others report. Contigo said Target will honor their 5 year warranty, and they did. I liked the mug so much and thought it a fluke, I bought a second one. After about 3 months of alternating them daily, BOTH now have bum lids.I'm taking them both back for 2 more, but this time am likely ripping the white spring-loaded handle off of both of them, and just using the flap manually. The one I have that didn't break on the plastic hinge works much better without that piece.So, those of you with broken lids take them back to Target and get another one!And Contigo, fix the lid! The mug is great, and I'm willing to pay the [$] for it as long as it will last. see less

I was really excited to find this mug. I loved the clip on handle and the flip-up top design, or so I thought until I had the same problem as Gene with it. My girlfriend and I both bought mugs around the same time. I used mine a lot more than she used hers and within about a month of regular use, the white plastic on the flip-up had cracked and then broken completely, rendering the seal useless. Since my girlfriend rarely used her mug, I borrowed her top, hoping that the problem with mine was an isolated defect, but within about a month of using hers, the flip up top had started to crack again. The rest of the mug appears to be solid, and the flip-up top design is great in theory, but it's really frustrating that they used such poor materials to execute it. When you pay almost [$] for a mug, you expect it to perform a little better than something that gets handed out for free at a trade show. see less

I have had this mug for about 9 months. Works just as wonderful as day one. It never leaks and keeps drinks hot all day long! I also make sure to hand wash the travel mug and NEVER put it in the dishwasher or leave it in a sink-ful of water. If you take care of it, this will be the best travel mug you've ever purchased. see less

The Contigo brand is the only insulated cup that I have ever ( oh, yeah-I have tried them all!) found that truly keeps drinks hot and doesn't leak. Remember they do need to be hand washed.They offer several varieties ( handles-no handles) and they come in fun colors; a great buy for your money! see less

This mug is awesome for a while! I have had 2 of these mugs. They are great for about 6 months, keep my coffee hot for hours! The actual mug is very durable, but the flip up lid has broken on both of mine after several months. It is very unfortunate because the rest of the mug is great! see less
