Love my Apple TV, I use it all the time!! It's really neat to mirror what I am doing on my iPhone or iPad right onto my TV screen, especially when it comes to watching movies or viewing pictures. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it won't mirror my laptop onto the TV screen properly, even though I meet all the qualifications. So if you want this solely for Macbook Pro mirroring purposes, make sure it will work for you before purchasing! see less

[...] I bought this last night for [...] at a local Target and was online, with the update required, in less than 10 minutes. The YouTube channels are definitely a welcome addition as ROKU does not have a direct YouTube button. Couldn't be happier for the ease of use, value, and the channels it provides. Plus, Netflix works very quick. see less

I gave this product a score of three stars because once it is set up it works, sort of. First, the manual is useless. Anything of value in it can be figured out without it by anyone who owns a cell phone and when you get to the area in the setup where you need to sign on to your service like Netflix, the manual simply ends. The only reason we were able to continue the process was because my son downloaded a setup app to his iPhone. A search of the Netflix help files gave a procedure that was incompatible with what the Netgear box expected. Once I got it going the unit froze up within a few hours and refused to respond to the remote. I had to cycle the power to get control back. The remote is spongy and slow operating so you have a tendency to press a key more than once. Bad idea since it eventually responds to all the queued commands. Still, the unit has a lot of features for the money so if you're on a serious budget and are willing to go through the painful setup - go for it! see less

Bought one of these to see about getting rid of my satellite receiver to save money on TV. I purchase a Roku because they are one of the companies that started streaming video for Netflix with their boxes, bought it home and hooked it up but the unit would not get past the ROKU menu would just shut off after 2 minutes. I thought I might have gotten a defective unit so I exchanged it for a new one, but had the same exact problem as the 1st unit, I would get the ROKU name on my screen but it would not go to the next step in setting it up for the wifi connection. It was hard to believe that I had gotten 2 of these bad what a disappointment. I think I will try the Sony brand next, or maybe just get a Blue Ray player with wifi. see less

I have other streamers I have used over the years. I have a 46 in insignia in my bedroom that this unit plugs into with HDMI and works. It's a little laggy and it's UI is fair to middling. Nothing special. I have tried to plug this into my Sanyo 55", my Polaroid 40", and my Asus 24" computer monitor with HDMI input. It only works with the Insignia and the Asus. I do not know why the Sanyo and the Polaroid won't support it, but they both work with every other HDMI device I own. If you are looking for a great streamer I would get the WDTV Live Streaming Media Player instead. It has all the bells and whistles and operates nicely. see less

The Picture quality Varies a-Lot and freezes often, the remote seems to have a delay sometimes as long as 5 seconds from pressing a button to the unit responding to the command. Although you have the choice of audio types such as 5.1 Surround, Stereo and Mono, often you have to hunt for the one that will give you sound out. Often times when you reach the end of a program in a TV Series, it will not automatically index your selection to the next episode in the Series. WiFi Signal is rated as Poor even though am located "Less then" 20 feet from the Router. My other Two Roku boxes say Signal Strength is Excellent. I have had it lose it's connection to my Router several times during Idle periods, Yet my other Two Roku boxes have not and never have. The C.C. is written in a bit of a "low contrast yellow lettering" that often blends or fades into the background screen colors so as to be virtually unreadable, I'd say about 25-30 percent of the time. I have returned it for a Refund. see less

- i bought this to replace my Patriot Box Office media streamer pros - the remote is nice.. easy to use and the buttons are big cons - tried watching Netflix but the video would freeze and the sound would cut in and out - pausing/rewinding was out of the question.. it took 20 seconds to respond to pressing the pause button - i couldn't play anything from my USB storage - basically i couldn't even use it.. i'm going to return this device see less
