I purchased my DC26 and it arrived very well packaged with good instructions. I have mostly hardwood floors and was so tired of lugging around heavy vacum. This vacum really leaves the floors clean with no sandy residue at all. However, I tried the turbine head. It worked fine the first time but when I tried it the next day it would not work. I called the company and got to speak to a customer service rep. She was very patient with me walked me through what she wanted me to do . She then proceeded to tell me they would send me a new head immediately. I received the head today which was about 4 days after my phone call. The new head works very well and I am very pleased with this vacum. It is nice to find a company that stands by its product. see less

I recently purchased this Dyson vacuum at an amazing deal! Originally 400 dollars, it was on sale for [$], AND I got an [$] dollar gift card, so essentially I paid 140 for it! My vacuum died out a few weeks ago, and I told myself I was not going to buy another cheap one. I lucked into this deal's timing! I I tried it out right away. The hardwood floor attachment is perfect! It is larger than the original carpet cleaning part. It has attachments for stairs and a bristle attachment, which I will be using to clean out my car. It is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. I have arthritis in my hands and arms, and this is the best vacuum I've used that doesn't hurt my hands. Love it! see less

I really like this vacuum; this machine has what I was a looking for: very light (I refuse to use big heavy vacuum), easy to use, easier to empty, bagless and washable filters, great suction, the cord is good for me (I never had a vacuum with a longer cord). I only have hard floors in my home. It is expensive, but great machine! see less

I'm a guy living alone and I've been using a 25 year old Eureka and it's done a good job, or at least what I thought was a good job. I've been doing some remodeling in my house for the past three months and it's been creating lots of dust, some of it really heavy dry wall dust. I've been having to vacuum sometimes twice a week in the non-remodeled parts of the house just to try and stay as clean as possible. The dust has been reduced to almost nothing for the past week or so, so I'm able to vacuum less frequently. But two days ago I vacuumed my bedroom with my Eureka and it felt clean afterward. Then today I opened the Dyson, put it together and plugged it in to give it a test run. I did only half of my bedroom and was amazed at what was in the canister. It wasn't full of stuff, but after emptying it I saw the thick layer of dry wall dust at the bottom of the canister. This is the layer of dust that must have been settling into the carpet over the past few weeks. Stuff that I couldn't see. Stuff that the Eureka didn't pick up. I'm so glad I finally broke down and got one of these. I don't really like vacuuming, but I like it even less when it doesn't do a good job. This Dyson makes it easy and it doesn't seem like a chore. Anyway, I hope this helps others make a decision. see less

Purchased just 2 weeks ago and have a wish list already. It operates great and I am impressed by suction and amount of dirt picked up but the cord is about too short to make it across the living room around furniture without re-plugging a retractable feature would be sweet too. I also, wish it came with the tool set so I don't have to go out and buy a separate toolkit for $60, for my blinds and nooks and crannies. I have purchased several vacuums in my time and never had to buy tools ala cart before. They better be tough for the amount that is being charged for them. see less

I debated spending the money, but you really do get what you pay for. I can't believe how much dirt, dust and pet hair it picked up. I had to empty it twice the first go around my 1 1/2 bedroom cottage. The reviews I read were very helpful and very true. I did a before and after barefoot test on my kitchen and bathroom floors. There was no grit, sand or orther particles present. The attachments are very easy to use too. I am a believer and wish I had purchased this vacuume long ago. My dog sheds tiny, white hairs. I wear a lot of black. I will be saving a lot of money on lint rollers thanks to this vacuume. Sofa, bed spreads and chairs are now hair free. I love my new Dyson. see less

Dyson had proven itself good for me given I have wooly husky who sheds practically all year round. However, recently the connectors on both sides keep coming off. and it makes a weird sound. also the switch if you want to clean either carpet or hard flooring doesn't lock that well. would appreciate to hear back from dyson for solutions to this. my dyson is about 2 yrs old only. see less

I don't have a pet, however, I have really long hair (almost long enough to tuck into my pants!), and have gone through 3 vacuums in the last 2 years. I vacuum my small apartment twice a week, because not only do I shed like any normal person, but my hair is so long that it forms those 'tuffts' when there's only a couple strands! I decided to finally shell out the cash to buy a dyson, and then found the 'animal' vacuum.....eureka! This vacuum is made specially for animal hair, but I would recommend it for those like me with lots of hair of your own. It works brilliantly, and is so easy to empty the canister. I actually only have to vacuum once a week now, because the 'animal' does such a great job!. see less

Wow! I got this after my very old vacuum died and was shocked at how much dirt, dust, and pet hair my other vacuum was NOT picking up!!! It was easy and quick to assemble. Light weight, love the clear view so you can see when it needs to be emptied. The canister is super easy to clean. I still am amazed at how much stuff it picked up the first time I used it! WOW. I love this thing. We just bought a home with wall to wall in both bedroom, on the stairs and in the hall. I am not a fan of wall to wall, as it is hard to keep clean, but it's brand new carpet so we're keeping it. I needed something more powerful than my small red plastic 38 dollar different brand vac, and this seemed reasonably priced and got good reviews. It's wonderful. I had used a shampooer to wash the carpets when we moved in, I thought they were sort of clean. In 10 minutes of cleaning with this machine I FILLED the canister doing a 3x8 ft hall,and one 9x17 bedroom. The canister is HUGE, so that says alot. SO much nasty crud came out. I can't wait to see what I get out of the baby's room and off the stairs tomorrow. Amazing. If it pulled THAT much out of new looking carpet I bet it would do even more on older carpet. I have had this vacuum about a month now. I am pleased that it picks up cat litter without a problem. I killed my last vacuum that way. The pet hair attachment really works. I got all the hair off of my couch! The cord retractor only works a few times as it is described. Now it retracts really slowly and I am worried it may not work much longer. DO NOT LEAVE ANY CORD IN WHILE RUNNING VACCUME! what cord you leave in heats up really bad and painful to touch. Always take as much cord out as you can, otherwise the cord will get ruined. the cord holder area is right over the motor The filter is easy to clean, but they say for you to let it dry after rinsing for 24 hours. So clean it after you have done the whole house, and you will be good. I just left it in a sunny windowsill. The dust bucket is nice, and the wind tunnel insert is easy to detach and clean. see less

I read great reviews before buying this vacuum. However, once I got it home, I only got half way through vacuuming my house before it died thanks to the retractable cord. It over heats and the cord gets hot to the touch. Once I discovered this, I read plenty more reviews stating that the retractable cord and overheating have been on going problems that Hoover never fixed. see less

I found this vacuum to have a lot of power and more convenience than I expected from a bag model. The long hose and cord mean I don't have to stop and unplug multiple times and the attachments are more than just eye candy - really functional! HEPA filter is a plus and I expect to get years of use out of this machine. see less

The second time I used this vacuum, the stair attachment wouldn't work. I was able to use the one from my old vacuum. The next time I tried to use this, the hose kept coming out of the tube for the attachments. [...............................] Other than these two issues that came up the second and third times I tried to use this, The attachment hose is hard to use. It's too stiff and fights you constantly. The stair and upholstery brush attaches with a magnet and repeatedly falls off, plus it has an odd shape that's hard to hold. It's tapered in a way that it slips out of your hand. Very dissatisfied see less

Does anyone really like to vacuum? I am very impressed by the power and precision contained in this small piece. Just easily program it and let it run. The suction is more than adequate to pick up everything on my floor. It is extremely methodical in how the laser visualizes the room and vacuums the floor in straight parallel lines. Awesome product! I just recieved my Shark Steam Pocket via ups after only 2 days!!! I took it out followed the directions and gave it a whirl. Lets just say I will never go back to a mop and bucket. I have 3 dogs, a 2 year old and another baby on the way and this just made my life SO much easier! It was really easy to assemble and start using. It works so well too. It has been really muddy here and my dogs track it all over my tile floors. This cleans it up in minutes. I highly recommend this mop! see less

I have had this steam mop for 4 years, using it at least once a week. Originally i had pergo floors and now I have hard wood. I love that I am not using any chemicals, yet getting a very clean floor. Once the pads have been used and washed a few times, I have to be more careful to clean "with the grain" of the floors as it does leave a few more streaks. After 4 years, it is time to replace my mop. With no hesitations or questions, I will be purchasing another Shark. see less

I can't believe all the negative reviews! I have had mine for 2 years, I have 5 kids and a very busy home. I use it to mop my floors, dust my floors and use the carpet glider. I have had it for over 2 years now and the only thing I've had to do was buy new pads! It's a work horse in my house and I am always so thankful that I bought it when I take that pocket pad off and toss it in the washer. My kids and I all have bad allergies and this has helped a ton! I love my steam mop! As far as the complaint of it being hard to push... once the pocket gets wet with steam its really easy to push. Just pump the handle 5 or 6 times and away you go! Sure beats the heck out of a nasty mop and bucket!!! see less

Hey, it's small, lightweight and it's meant for quicky jobs. For this purpose, it's AWESOME! I do wish it had a longer power cord, and a longer hose to for hard to reach clean-ups but other than that, it does a LOT better job than my huge and heavy supposedly-better-than-DD brand. [...]! I totally appreciate the HEPA filter, which is easy to get to for replacement purposes. Everything is easy to operate on this little thing, it even comes apart to clean out that nasty dust that stays on the canister. It makes me feel good knowing how much nastiness I'm throwing away each time I empty it. I love it. see less

Not sure why 99 percent of the people here are having problems with this vacuum. Maybe I haven't used it that long yet? Anyways.It works great for me, seriously. First time I used it I was VERY impressed. I like it and I hope it stays that way for at least another year! Message to people who give this product poor ratings CLEAN THE FILTERS just because it is bagless does not mean you empty cup and go on. If i smells like burning rubber clean the hair off your rollers ,hair is incredibly strong stopping roller from spinning burning your belt up. These problems will happen to the most expensive vacuums.Take care of your equipment! see less

I've purchased and gone thru several stick vacuums thru the years, and this Bissell is the best. It is powerful, picks up everything, easy to clean,and has a larger capacity to hold dirt, Even just having the wire to recharge it makes it more convenient compared to the ones that have the additional stands you have to use. The charge lasts a long time, and I have very large rooms. I haven't once run low or out of power. I highly recommend this stick vacuum, or any other other item Bissell makes for pets. I have their Little Green Machine for pets, and it is the best on cleaning carpeting. see less

I love this product. I have mainly hard flooring and a long haired kitty. It works wonders. The only down side I have with the product itself is that the battery life could be a little longer or make it where it can run off of a cord as well as cordless. You do have to keep the filter really clean but that isn't a problem for me as I clean it every time I use it. I love the swivel and the button that drops the handle to get under neath things. I like the lightness of it also. I have a regular Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vac as well and it works great on carpet but not hard flooring and it is very heavy. see less

I just bought this vacuum a week ago but so far it is the best vacuum I have ever purchased. I really hope how the box reads it "never looses cleaning power" is true because my previous vacuums lost suction after a few uses. I have a dog that sheds like crazy and I was in the market for a good pet hair vacuum and I think I found it. I love how it is cordless, it makes cleaning so much easier and much faster. The swivel head makes getting into corners easier too. The price was listed at [$] but I found one that was repackaged for [$], of course at that price I had to buy it. This is my 4th cordless vacuum. I actually owned the d----- cordless for a short time before realizing it didn't really do the job. This is not a fancy vacuum with attachments or a handheld option. But for a cordless, it is SO POWERFUL!! It gets the carpet and tile very clean. It is also easy to empty/clean the filters. see less
