The features in this set are totally above my expectations!
Firstly, I must say that the Police truck was my favorite part of this set-- rare colors (for a truck), high ground clearance and a lot of customizeability! Its tough, compact design makes it easy to play with, and you never have to worry about bricks falling off. It also features an opening hatch with a fairly large cargo compartment (which is quite simple to make even bigger).
The helicopter is tiny compared to most, making it easy to play with (and feature in videos). It has a lot of detail including a tail rotor and positional lights.
The Police station itself is designed to be played with, featuring an open back (making video recording a cinch!) and a lookout bridge.
The office has a detailed computer monitor and keyboard, a swiveling chair at the desk, and a cool coffee machine inside, with an access ladder in the back to get on the aforementioned bridge. On this bridge sit a radar system and a satellite dish, giving it a special 'forest' feel. Underneath the bridge there is also a cool opening gate.
The jail cell has a bunk, removable mailbox (for breaking out thieves!), and an open back for playability.
The roomy rock opens so you can stash cash (or maybe find evidence of a robbery). The tree by the rock is also very cool in structure, because you can place almost any LEGO object in it!
The Minifigures have awesome outfits: special Police uniforms and torn jail shirts!
The bear, crowbar, pickaxe and Police radio are very nice additions to my accessory collection!
No matter if you record videos, play alone, or play with friends, you would not regret purchasing this set. And even if you don't like the Police station, it comes with all the essentials for redesigning into any building you would need anyway!
I love the lego city sets especially police. I think its a great way to show respect to the real police risking their lives for our safety. The truck is very nice and the ATV and the Cop. My only problem was it was a litttle expesive for such a small set. Other than that i loved it.
This is a great, fun, cheap set that makes a good invention to any LEGO City or police collection.
ATV: This is a fun vehicle for the cops that is quick and easy to build and provides some off roader backup in a chase. It is white and blue, the colors of all the cop vehicles, and seats one.
PICKUP TRUCK: The maroon and grey pickup is good for a criminal, a citizen, or Walker, Texas Ranger for that matter. The construction is very similar to Hawkeye's jeep in the Avengers sets. It is a very compact vehicle because of a few bigger, simpler, and more standard bricks used. It seats one up front and can hold two more in the back. The back can lift up to reveal some gold bricks inside.
MINIFIGURES: The set comes with two great figures for the vehicles.
COP: The cop is in my opinion the coolest out there. He comes with a head that is printed with a cocky grin and Aviator shades, a head that has been seen several times before, usually as some Special Ops guy. He's always my favorite in the sets, and I call him Rick. Anyway he wears dark blue jeans and is dressed in a tan forest police shirt printed with a walkie talkie and a badge, and wears a helmet and visor.
CRIMINAL: This guy is a bit different from the standard robber, as his prison shirt has ripped sleeves and he wears khakis rather than gray. He also has a bearded, angry face and a gray henchman hat and wields a crowbar, making him look like just the person this awesome cop could handle.
OVERALL: This is a fun, easy set that is a great addition to a larger collection or just for playability by itself. It has a cool looking cop and a rarer criminal, and I recommend it to anyone. I give this set a 5/5.
Since I love 4x4s, this was one of my favorite LEGO sets in the whole CITY series.
The coolish 80's-style truck is fairly smple to build, with cool accessories and even a tiny side model for extra fun. It also comes with ENOUGH pieces to build several variations of each, without paying a cent extra!
Being based on a standard plate, the design allows for much remodeling without much restructuring. To free-builders, this means lots of time spent on making it look how you want it to, rather than lots of time spent developing an efficient method of keeping it together.
Let's talk play value (since that's the best part). This truck has a high ground clearance, good for climbing over rocks and other obstacles. It also sports a removeable bed cover, with lots of room for hiding fun stuff! The ATV is also a lot of fun because of its size-- it fits through tiny places quite well (which is fun if you make videos).
