This unit is designed to hold vhs tapes or cds. I have a couple like it that I use for that purpose. I bought this one and am displaying my collection of small teapots and tea cups. The dark wood shows off the collection nicely.I would like it if I could have an order like this delivered to a nearby Target for pickup at my convenience as I can't have things delivered to my apartment and it is inconvenient to have things delivered at my place of work. see less

This didn't take long to put together, though, the directions could have been just a bit more clear. I have this fully populated with Blu-rays and PS3 games, and it feels very sturdy, even with all of the stuff I have on top of the unit -- a box set, some game controllers. The unit looks nice, the swivel works well and it turns fairly easily considering it's on carpet. I would definitely buy another. see less

I already had one of these and ordered a second to put on the other side of my tv stand. It went together in about an hour and a half. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. It holds many different types of media. I have mine filled with CD's, DVDs, Blu Ray and a few VHS. It does not hold the giant sized VHS boxes but those are going the way of the dinosaur so it wasn't a big problem. Shelfs are not adjustable but are a nice distance apart and evenly spaced. The color is discribed as Espresso but these are almost black. Think of it as black if you are going to buy one. I have bought two at separate times and they both look black. Swivel works well also. I highly recommend. see less

I found this cabinet simple to put together, looks great, doors swing open and closed nicely. However, I would highly recommend using wood glue when you put the dowel pins in each piece to attach the pieces to each other, otherwise if the cabinet gets knocked just right the whole thing comes apart. I'm buying a second one for the other side of my television - I had many more DVDs than I thought. see less

We purchased 2 of these units for our DVD's, and they turned out to be amazing! The quality is really good for the price and it makes our room look even better than it was before. The only con I would have to say, is the unit can be a little top heavy... but they did provide anchors if you choose to mount it to the wall. We did not use the anchors, and the units are fine- just be careful!! I would recommend this unit to anyone! see less

I've had this rack for more than a year now & it's still holding up great. If you look at the picture, you'll see there are diagonal bars that act as a stopper on each shelf. The idea is that when the rack isn't full, these hold the dvds in place. I would recommend leaving these off. They do a really bad job of holding the DVDs on the rack before the rack gets full. Then once the rack gets full, they take up space that another DVD could be taking up & they cant be removed without taking the whole thing apart. I saw another review that mentioned that the DVD's slid off. That happened to me a couple of times too, when the rack isn't that full, the DVD's had a tendency to want to slide off. Once the rack gets full though, it becomes a lot more sturdy. see less

This is my second Orchard Hills cabinet. Love Sanders brand. Would recommend that when putting the cabinet together use an electric screwdriver, it goes much faster. There are some areas where I would not recommend using the electric screwdriver. Looks wonderful next to my oak furniture. see less

Easy to put together, despite scant instructions. We built the structure to the base instead of building the whole inner structure first and then attaching to the base as per the instructions--that would have taken 3 sets of hands! looks great finished, and holds all of our dvd's in one shelf. I would like another for all of our cd's now too. see less

My 19-year old daughter collects DVDs. By collecting DVDs, I don't mean she has been fortunate to collect just a few. On the contrary, she has amassed over 500 of them, and they litter every crevice in her room. Then one day a few weeks ago, she observed an online advertisement from Target regarding a Media Tower Wood Cabinet. "Wow," she says. "This will solve all of my problems." Then I came home from work. "Daddy, you've got to see this," she mentions. "Hurry, before they are all gone." Upon showing me the tremendous pictures online, I knew I had to purchase one. First, it would indeed solve all of her problems with her cache of DVDs. Second, I saw the quality in the product. Third, the price was very affordable. Fourth and most important, I knew it came from Target, where we prefer to do most of our shopping. Obviously, my daughter and I got one. The delivery was extremely fast, and arrived several days before I expected. The Media Tower Wood Cabinet arrived in perfect condition, having been amply packaged to protect it during shipping. In fact, as I told my daughter, "Everything arrives from Target in that condition!" Naturally, the item required "some assembly." Leery that the instructions for assembling the item would require an advanced degree from [...] in engineering, I was surprised that the instructions were very easy to understand. Consequenly, the assembly took me about one hour, and required only a couple of tools. This cabinet was easy to assemble!! Upon attaching the unit to my daughter's wall, as instructed, I stood back and just marveled at the unit. It definitely made her room!! What an attractive DVD media tower!! What a way to solve the problems with my daughter's self-professed "DVD-buying addiction!" Once the main unit was assembled, my daughter was allowed the opportunity of placing the shelving into the unit. She literally loved this process, as it required no tools, just a good imagination. She subsequently took her time and placed all of her DVDs into the cabinet in alphabetical order. What a happy girl!! That same night, she invited some of her friends over our house to look at her new creation, and just glowed all evening long. Target made my daughter and her dad two very happy people. I purchased 2 of these as part of a media room remodel. They are well-packed and double boxed, and survived the UPS trip without a problem. Once home, I unpacked & started assembly. Spread over 2 evenings, working alone, from start to wall-mounted, it took about three hours to do the first, considerably less for the 2nd. All parts are segregated and easily identified, and the only tools needed are a screwdriver (and a drill if you want to wall-mount them). If you're not used to this kind of assembly, I would agree with the mfr's. recommendation of having a 2nd pair of hands to help with connecting the two sections, and to add stability while attaching the backboards. Visually, they are attractive (I purchased the all-black units) and minimalistic, and the backing has a faux carbon-fiber appearance. Also, with a small pair of bookends you can utilize the top as another shelf, should you need/want to go higher (I did!) They mounted to the wall minimal effort, and are easily made level. The only improvement I would suggest would be stronger connections where the top and bottom sections join, as a little flex could cause some serious damage.Final assessment: Attractive, filled the bill, almost a perfect piece. 4-1/2 out of 5 stars! see less

I searched all over to find something like this to store wine glasses, misc. dishes, etc. The color is much darker than the picture. More of a dark chocolate or espresso. The picture looks washed out so I was glad it was darker. I was first worried about the quality since the instructions said no tools required! But it's probably the most sturdy piece I've assembled. It has locking grooves that make it extremely tight. A rubber mallet makes the job much easier to assemble, and another set of hands is very helpful to hold the pieces during assembly (my 5yr old helped). Didn't take long at all. It is not as deep as I thought it would be. The deminsions say 12" wide (deep) but the interior depth is more like 10", so I wasn't able to put some things in that I had planned on. Other than that, I hightly recommend this piece. see less

This cabinet is the perfect solution to our need. My wife's office is in a corner of our 'great room', and she was complaining that she needed a storage solution for the various papers and supplies that was both functional and attractive. This bookcase/media cabinet was the perfect size and color for our needs. It is well-designed. While assembly was straightforward, it was a bit more difficult than anticipated and did require a second person for getting the back panel in place. It also helped to have a rubber mallet to firmly seat the pieces in place without marking the exterior. see less

I just assembled this great little cabinet. Excellent quality, excellent finish, well engineered, easy to assemble. Even the back panel is nicely finished. Exactly what I was looking for, with one small caveat. I needed a cabinet in my home office to hold binders. Although the cabinet is listed as 12" deep that's the depth of the top surface. The interior shelves are only 10" deep. It will hold 1" and 1 1/2" ring binders that are 10" wide, but the doors won't close on standard or over sized binders with rings larger than 2". I'll make this work, but it would have been helpful to have this noted in the product description. Or even better, make the interior another 1-2" deeper to add to it's versatility in a home office. Although it said "no tools" required for assembly, I did use a heavy rubber mallet and can't imagine putting together this tight fitting piece without it. Very handsome piece of furniture.
