I purchased this set for the portability but have just discovered the nail clippers are of questionable quality. My nails are completely shredded when trying to clip with them. They are simply not sharp enough to make precise clips. The cuticle pusher is decent and the nail file is good but the plastic on it seems a little flimsy compared to my full size Tweezerman nail file. These are good for a trip but don't expect to get a dedicated manicure from this kit.... I really wanted to like this set but am a bit disappointed see less

I finally broke down and bought this kit. I absolutely love it. I have NEVER been able to paint my nails at home with regular nail polish. However, I found a neat pin on Pinterest that showed the proper way to do it. So, I bought this kit and did my nails last weekend. It's five days later and my nails still look like I just did them and I was gardening for hours yesterday. I've washed dishes multiple times and even bleached and cleaned bathrooms. I believe one of the keys to keeping them from chipping is to make sure you apply the base and top coats under the tip of the fingernail and around the top like the instructions tell you to do. Otherwise, you aren't really sealing all of the nail color in. I love how the UV light beeps after 30 seconds and cuts off after 60. You don't have to time yourself. Those are the only 2 time intervals you need. I wish it were a little larger so I could fit my thumb in with the rest of my fingers, but I don't mind doing the thumb separately. see less

I am, by no means, great at "staying in the lines" when I do nail polish. So my biggest complaint about this kit is that if I'm messy, I'm scraping it off my skin. But seriously, it works as long as your follow the directions to a T. Watch the official YouTube video, very helpful without being annoying. I just use a RCM polish with the kit last night and those need extra cure time so beware. A few weeks back, I used Sensationail Blue Yonder and the first chip came at day 13. I can't go back to regular polish, except for maybe my toes. I found it difficult to cram my foot under the light. Target- can you please carry this kit and polishes in store?!? It would save me a trip to your dreadful competitor [...]. see less

I was a little hesitant to spend so much on nail polish! But this is worth EVERY penny! The starter kit comes with smaller sized products but it lasts for quite some time right around 6 months and the essential kit does come with larger bottles when you run out of base/top coat, gel cleanser, and primer. I work in retail and it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep a manicure perfect for more then a day this seriously can last me up to two weeks. I would suggest you check out their tutorial videos they really helped me out. see less

The nail tips are difficult to line up on your own - especially on your dominant hand, using your non-dominant hand. At least two fingers on my dominant hand have crooked tips, the center of the arched tip is not in the center of my nail. The "downward motion" filing removal of the excess white tip still resulted in chips at the edges of the nails. I did continue the entire process, doing only one hand at a time. Then re-filed all fingers to remove the chipped edges. Then reapplyed clear polish to the edges and used the lamp again. Maybe this would work a lot better if you had a friend to help? Also - when peeling the nail tips from their protective double plastic covers some tips got pulled to the wrong plastic cover - and this made the process even more difficult. see less

Because it's not listed in the description I figured I would list the contents for other people planning to buy the set. It comes with a set of hello kitty flip flops that are size 2/3. A bottle of pink hello kitty labeled toe nail polish. A small surfboard shaped emery board. A set of pink hello kitty toe seperators and a plastic toe ring with a secret compartment. I was really hoping this set also had the hello kitty nail clippers but unfortunately they aren't included.The flip flops have the same thickness of sole as the other hello kitty flip flops offered here at Target but the straps on the flip flops included in this set are made of vinyl/rubber where as the pink ones offered here have a canvas/material strap covered in a glittery material. see less

You'd be way better off getting the whole polish kit. After two manicures, the tip was frayed beyond saving and the polish would barely come out. From the start, the uneven polish distribution was very difficult to control, which left disappointing and sloppy results. see less

Bought this just to try and thought it would be kind of fun to mess around with. But It was just horrible when u press the tip down to get polish out it just releases like a huge blob of polish. I love Sally Hansen nail polishes but this was just horrible I think it is an overall embarrassment to the company. see less

Just ordered this, tried it, and liked it. Hoping that the manicure stays for 2 weeks, but so far it's been a few days, and no chipping. The only thing I don't like is that the led light stays on for less than 45 seconds at a time, so has to be pushed a second time to finish curing the nails. The instructions were easy to follow. Wasn't crazy about the red polish that came with it, but bought another gel nail polish color that worked with the led light with no problem. see less

This gel nail system is easy to use and works great. I had never had gel nails prior to using Red Carpet Manicure, but was surprised by how easy it is to catch on and get a great manicure. The polish doesn't chip for a few weeks, so the only downside is that I don't get to change nail colors as often as I would using normal nail polish. I reccomend this product for anyone wanting to try gel nails - it's fun and the finished product looks salon quality. Love it! see less

I almost didn't buy this product after reading some of the negative reviews. But, I'm glad I decided to try them! I LOVE these things! The others clearly didn't follow instructions completely. Alittle tip, this product definitely requires patience & time.You may want to practice with a little piece so you get the feel of it. DO NOT rush, & be sure to lightly buff than clean with alcohol just before applying to assure it sticks to nail properly. If your nails are damaged from removal of acrylics, this product will not stick for long. These have lasted 2 weeks for me, which than I allow my nails to breathe for a few days before I reapply. Good Luck!! These are definitely worth the effort! see less

I have been using the Salon Effects since they came out and they are freaking great. If you can follow instructions, you can put these on easily! Super easy and so fast! I would suggest applying a top coat just to seal the manicure and get even more longevity out of it! see less

This is a great product if you don't have the time or money to spend on a professional manicure at a salon. I bought the french manicure from Sally Hansen and I was so pleased with the way it turned out! It takes little to no time at all - I did mine in under 15 minutes, including try time. The only thing I would have to worn you about is to be percise when applying them the first time because if you want to remove them and try to reposition them, it will not work and can tear in half. This was my first time using it and it looks great! I would definitly recommend this product to all the ladys out there who need a cost effective solution to a fabulous mani or pedi. The quality is pretty good for the price too. I put a clear coat of polish over it, recommended, and it lasted 11 days without any flaws! see less
