Case was shipped and received very quickly. Read the reviews all posted from 2010 & 2011 but ordered anyway. Obviously, Singer took care of the issues. Case has no sharp metal edges or loose rivets. Both locking mechanisms work perfectly. It is very sturdy. Machine fits great and roomy enough to also store items within. I definitely recommend this case. Very pleased with purchase! Also, love the added bonus of the discount and free shipping by using my Target charge card. A win, win purchase. Thank you Target!
Case is very sturdy and well made. Bought as a gift for my mother-in-law for the Singer Sewing Machine we bought her for Christmas. Also lightweight for her to lift herself as she is in her 80's.
i absolutely love my brand new singer serger! i'll never regret purchasing it, plus the serger is really easy to use. Shipping was quick and my serger was safe unlike other stores who send out mistreated items. I am glad i bought it here at target, my shipping turned out [...] and i had no problems at all!i recommend everyone to buy one, they come in handy!
I bought this machine after carefully reading the reviews. After setting it up, I did a few practice stitches and I had the same exact problem other reviewers did. The bobbin thread was jamming with a ton of thread almost immediately every time I started. After re-inserting the bobbin several times, I realized I was inserting it wrong and that you have to put the little lever facing up so it locks into place where it sits. I will say the manual doesn't do a great job with that explanation. After that, no more jamming. Then I had another problem with the bobbin thread stitching very loose and clumpy. I tinkered around and realized the bobbin thread wasn't threaded correctly in the bobbin case. Again, the picture wasn't great, but I figured it out. Both problems were EXACTLY the same as what other reviewers said, but BOTH were user error and once I corrected the problems, the machine runs beautifully and the stitches are perfect.
I just got this machine two weeks ago, I did some small projects and it worked great. I did not experienced, yet, any of the problems people have been reporting in the bad reviews.
If you have never used a sewing machine before, take your time to read the manual or ask for help. If you don't ajust the threads and the tension correctly it will not work well.
I recomend this machine if you are going to use it for small projects.
I bought this machine over a year ago, and have used it quite a few times. I have not had ANY of the issues other reviewers have described. I actually just finished making my daughter a fleece jacket and hat, and the machine worked wonderfully! I highly recommend this machine, especially for someone who is just starting out, as it is easy to use and quite affordable.
I was skeptical because of reading the mixed reviews, and the low price, but I must say that right out of the box, this little dynamo was ready to work.
Purchased at my local Target, it came threaded, with the bobbin loaded, and two extra loaded bobbins. I have sewn in the past with an extremely HEAVY, expensive Singer machine, so I was acquainted with some of the excentricities, needles than can come unthreaded easily and thread tension that can drive you to drink. Some advice,
1. Read the booklet BEFORE taking the QuickFix out of the box.
2. Use the machine gently.
3. Use the control wheel to gently advance the bobbin and needle threads before cutting, leaving at least 7 inches coming out of the needle and bobbin threads. Do everything with gentleness in mind. Remember, this is a FOUR pound sewing
In two hours I was able to make 7 pillows for my patio furniture, using a smooth, light weight cotton fabric.
I bought this to fix a few things that required too much sewing for me to do by hand. I haven't used a sewing machine since high school and this was an easy way to jump back into using it. I used it to easily repair the trim that had come off a fleece blanket and then used it to make almost 20 fleece headbands for my daughter's soccer team. No problems or issues. I am surprised by all the negative reviews.
I had NEVER used a sewing machine in my life prior to purchasing this item, with every pair costing $7 in my area I was willing to give sewing a shot. Granted it took a first timer a couple of hours to get some 3 pairs done, the machine worked great and overall my hemming didn't look that bad.The manual is somewhat sparse, but in this day and age of You Tube videos I was able to get supplemental info to get things running smoothly.
I bought this sewing machine last year--I know how to sew basic things. This machine was easy to sew right from the box, I was sewing small projects in no time. I've not had any of the problems some of these other reviewers have talked about. I thought it would be harder because it was a computerized but so far have not had any problems at all. I like mine and I'm glad I didn't read the negative reviews. Read the directions and watch the dvd that comes with this sewing machine. When you get that error message, just turn it off and turn it back on. It is different than a manual machine, but I don't regret buying this particular singer sewing model. Works great!!
This is from a beginner...
I bought this a few months ago & I had no idea how to sew. I didn't even know how to thread a machine but I figured this out pretty easy & it's been great so far. I have sewn with really thick material & it's been operating great. I even let two people borrow it -seasoned sewers- & they both told me that they love this machine so I must have picked a good one. Easy to use & no problems at all.
I recently purchased this sewing machine and am so far very pleased with it. I do sew quite often, and took to this with ease. I did not experience any of the issues that I read from the reviews, but I am sure everyone's experience with this will be different based on the level of experience and care in usage, etc. This is obviously not an industrial strength sewing machine, but in my opinion lives up to my standards for what I need it for - mostly for making my little ones dresses.
I would recommend this, even for a beginner starting out, there are a lot of fun stitches and the instruction manual is pretty straight forward.
Wow, the iron is amazing. We are huge consumer reports readers and refer to them as the experts. This iron was in the top three and affordable and available at Target online exclusively. What I love about the iron is the steam blast, but mostly...it heats up super quick. Great buy!
I purchased this for Singer 4411 heavy duty machine at local Target store. At first I thought it does not fit, but after moving the closing grooves left and right it closed nice. It also fits my older Singer 2732 machine. The metal clasps inner prongs were loose and sharp. I hammered inner prongs so they do not stick out, and case was sturdy then. Online dimensions are off. I measured OUTSIDE dimensions. 14.75in H with handle, 13.125in H without handle, 19.5in L, 10.625in W. INSIDE dimensions are approximately 17 to 17.5in L, 8.5 to 9in W. First dimension is perfect fit second is stretching it to the limit. The inner height I am guessing. There is concave depression under the handle that from the outside is 0.75in deep which would make case about 12in H in the middle, but the sides are higher. Corners are little less than 12.125in H with highest spot of 12.5in H, which would accommodate for that bobbin winder and spool pin. Case itself is very sturdy. I would recommend this product.
I bought the Brother XR 7700 and I love it but it only comes with a hard cover. I really needed a full case for it and this one is perfect. It is attractive and it fits my machine. I have to place my machine and case inside so that my machine doesn't slide around inside.
Fabric glue better than iron-on fabric kind. Could tell difference after initial application.
Could tell bond much stronger after initial application when checking bond effectiveness.
Only used fabric type in past, & in comparison, so-so bonds. At best, held initial bond, but quickly lost adhesiveness.parts of hem coming loose, while others stayed in place, which made it really obvious. Even after ironing again as per pkg dirxtns, you may or may not get adhesion. At worst, it couldn't hold at all.
Fabric glue held the bond immediately, so if you wanted to correct b/c whatever reason you needed, don't wait too long to get fabric where you want it.
I could tell bond would hold very well, & would keep its effectiveness for a long time,
Only drawback is that you are working with a glue. So have to be careful @gllue on fingers/hands, so you won't get on visible side.
However, you have the same issues with any glue, from Elmer's to Super Glue This is a drawback of any glue product.
I wore my pants the next day, it held tight. & I even checked bond again, by pulling on hem quite strongly. & bond was quite strong, along the whole hem, w/o any gaps.
Would recommend product to my friends & any sewing-challenged person like myself.
