I bought this because I wanted to replace my old big and bulky graters that always grated my knuckles. It is well designed and it works really great without needing so much elbow grease. I use it a lot to grate ginger and garlic, and to zest lemons, limes and oranges. I have yet to try it though for grating cheese. The red trim adds a nice pop of color to it. I also love that it has a plastic cover that you pop on to keep the grater clean when not in use. Speaking of clean, this washes easily under running water! What a great find! Thanks, GDL!!
I recently purchased the Giada fine and coarse hand graters and have had so much fun with them. I have a cheap hand grater that I used before I bought these and it worked fine, it just required using extra pressure. Giada's works great (or should I say grate)! They are attractive and require no real pressure at all. I've had a ball grating cheese, zesting lemons, and removing the dark almost burnt part of bread that has toasted a little too long (that's our secret...okay). I think it would be a welcome addition to any kitchen.
