The scratching post is great quality and is durable enough to handle our cats' rough use. The extra poles have certainly come in handy as well, helping us to slightly expand the kitty fort. Love that the extension/replacement kit is offered here, and love the price too.
My two cats had completely shredded the round scratching post on the Kitty City cat center. My cats started to scrath the furniture and I was getting worried. [...] I decided to look on Target.com and after a bit of searching, I found the replacement parts. I was so happy that I ordered 4 of the scrathing posts and put two of them out at one time. The cats are scratching the heck out of them instead of my furniture. I might order four more to keep as spares. These replacements work perfectly and I am so glad that Target had these. Target's shipping was fast and I have always had a good experience ordering from them.
The replacement scratching post is what we wanted, it appears to be the only wear item in the entire setup. We ordered a few of these and realized we then had enough spare corners and poles to add on a new section. Great value and great quality. Kitty City is our cats favorite toy.
My kitten had been playing with one of the cloth mice, when I noticed him gagging and pawing at his mouth. The covering of the mouse had come apart and the stuffing and catnip were exposed.I got the material out of his mouth but it really scared me that he could have been hurt ! I don't recommend letting your cat play with these mice.
I have two Siberian huskies, one of which is very hard on dog toys. We have tried many different toys and several hold up better than others. I thought we would give this one a try and surprisingly all of it's arms, wings and tail are still in tact! It is hard to find a sturdy plush toy for dogs, but this one has withstood the "husky" world for a month now. While that doesn't sound long, believe me, for my dogs it is a long time.
The features in this set are totally above my expectations!
Firstly, I must say that the Police truck was my favorite part of this set-- rare colors (for a truck), high ground clearance and a lot of customizeability! Its tough, compact design makes it easy to play with, and you never have to worry about bricks falling off. It also features an opening hatch with a fairly large cargo compartment (which is quite simple to make even bigger).
The helicopter is tiny compared to most, making it easy to play with (and feature in videos). It has a lot of detail including a tail rotor and positional lights.
The Police station itself is designed to be played with, featuring an open back (making video recording a cinch!) and a lookout bridge.
The office has a detailed computer monitor and keyboard, a swiveling chair at the desk, and a cool coffee machine inside, with an access ladder in the back to get on the aforementioned bridge. On this bridge sit a radar system and a satellite dish, giving it a special 'forest' feel. Underneath the bridge there is also a cool opening gate.
The jail cell has a bunk, removable mailbox (for breaking out thieves!), and an open back for playability.
The roomy rock opens so you can stash cash (or maybe find evidence of a robbery). The tree by the rock is also very cool in structure, because you can place almost any LEGO object in it!
The Minifigures have awesome outfits: special Police uniforms and torn jail shirts!
The bear, crowbar, pickaxe and Police radio are very nice additions to my accessory collection!
No matter if you record videos, play alone, or play with friends, you would not regret purchasing this set. And even if you don't like the Police station, it comes with all the essentials for redesigning into any building you would need anyway!
I LOVE this set! it has tons of detail in the house, yard and mini-figures. It was an average build and took me an hour to an hour and a half to build. The play experience is wonderful and i could seriously play with this set for hours. Olivia's parents (Peter and Anna) were a great add on to the set and just makes this set better! I have many Lego and Lego friends sets and this one is probably my favorite. It is a great addition to your Lego town and just overall an amazing set and i would definetley recommend it to everyone! :)
I bought this set for myself, and I really enjoy it. It was a pretty easy build. I, personally, didn't like how the kitchen was set up, and that the front door led into the kitchen. But for me that was the beginning of the fun! I rearranged the kitchen, adding more counter space, a cupboard, and a coffee machine. I also moved the kitchen stuff into the family room, and the family room stuff in to the kitchen, and I'm much happier with the setup. Using windows for walls, I made the parents a bedroom, with Olivia's bed. I put the bed from Mia's Bedroom set in Olivia's room, and it matched the color scheme perfectly. I also reconstructed Olivia's room to put her deck outside the front of her room. I also added a deck for the parents, fixing the roofing problems by removing Olivia's deck. I didn't touch the bathroom, except to add four 2 by one green tiles, as towels. I also removed one of the drawers from this room, adding it to Olivia's room. I also put a few plates under the roof, instantly adding storage!
I put the house and the yard on a green 30/30 plate to stabilize, also adding more yard space. While not all of her yard fits, it works better for play. In the yard I added a patio, doghouse, and Emma's Splash Pool. I guess what I'm saying is that I really like this set, because it adds a lot of possibility for personal improvement.
I would really like to see room sets, sets with just a room that you can add to the house. Specifically a parent's room, another girl's bedroom ( Wouldn't it be fun to use random Lego friend parts and give Olivia a sister?), and blank rooms, without furniture. If Lego were to come out with blank rooms, I would buy two, adding them to my house, placing Emma's Studio in. Also maybe another, to put Emma's Karate class in. It would be fun! And you wouldn't have to worry about too many rooms, because there rooms change in and out so easily, you can just put away the one's you aren't playing with. I would also enjoying see more outfits for the Mom and Dad. But it's not a huge deal.
I would like to clarify that I did not name all of the things I added.
