I bought this for my 2 year old, and it is great! It is not so high that he would fall off and hurt himself, but is high enough for him to reach the sink. (he is 36 in and he can reach the water to help wash hands, but not the handle that turns on the water in standard bathroom sink heights). It says it supports 200 lbs, so even older kids can safely use it (my 200 lb husband tested it to to be sure!) It is very easy to unfold, and not so easy to fold (which is perfect when I don't want the stool to accidentally fold while in use). The letters are cute, and it is light enough for my son to carry around for fun. You may want something a little taller if you're purchasing for a 1 year old, though. I wish other reviewers wouldn't base their 1 star reviews on the fact that they were silly enough to think a bright blue step stool with the alphabet on it was for adults... see less

I use this at least every other day. It has come in quite handy for dusting light fixtures and hanging up Halloween decorations, as well as home decor. I know it will definitely come in handy for the holidays. I had been looking for a stool for quite awhile and didn't like the plastic kind. The steps are a good size and it features a little locking clip to hold steps up when not it use. So far, so good. see less

The step stool fits perfectly. The wood looks so nice and blends with our KI that we have permanently left the stool in front of the island sink so kids can wash their hands. Our only complaint is that we had to peel the manufacturer sticker off and it took a little scrapping. Otherwise, the stool has been safe and sturdy for our 3 children, ages 2, 5, and 8. see less

My one complaint with the stool is the instruction for how to close it was not very clear (to me at least) so I almost broke the lever off trying to figure it out. It is really well painted and has a handy storage space. My son uses it to get in and out of his bed and leaves his PJ's and slippers in there. You have to put it together but it's very easy. Highly recommend this product. see less

First, what I do like about this stool. I like the color. The heigth is perfect for sitting at my counter chopping veggies and preparing meals. The padded seat is comfortable to sit on and I can reach things on higher shelves using the steps. I like the rubber tips on the legs that keep it from slipping and scratching the floor. What I don't like is that every time I try to move the stool, the steps totally fall out of the stool...it is awkward to move. In the Cosco stool my mom had the steps were attached to the stool and folded out. This stool is not as sturdy and heavy as the one my mom had. [...] the screw holes were not accurate making it difficult to put together (this is from my husband who put it together for me). For the most part, it serves my purpose. see less

I ordered this for my renovated kitchen, which looks fairly old-fashioned, because I remember a similar chair from my grandmother's kitchen in the 50s. It is sturdy, attractive, and useful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the step-stool only slides out; in the original it tilted up and out, which was a bit more efficient. But that is a very minor quibble. I had been looking for one that i liked for him and found they were all over priced and cheap looking. I am very pleased with this potty so far. I didn't realize until I got it home that it is a 4 in 1 potty for [$]. I wasn't planing on purchasing this toilet but I am very glad that I did.It plays music, is a training seat, step stool, and the seat comes off and attaches to the toilet. It seems to be well built. The only down side, so far, is that my child likes to take the seat and the piece that she would potty in off the chair itself. On the bright side we just bought it and she hasn't actually started using it. We are just getting her used to the idea. see less

Got this for my daughter's 1st birthday and potty training has been a breeze. My daughter can easily lift the lid herself and sit down. The seat has fit every toilet I have tried and snaps on and off easily. The potty is easy to dump and clean and my daughter even enjoys putting it back together, it's that simple, just drops right back in. Every time she goes potty, it will play a little tune for her and she smiles and claps, but if you want to just praise them for sitting on the potty, there is a button that you can easily reach underneath to play a tune, beware you don't let them figure that out or they'll be in there just pushing that button. The step part also has different size circles that help my daughter step up and down. It's easy to clean, easy to use, it's adorable, durable, you can take the seat or whole potty with you and my daughter loves to use it. see less

This little step stool is perfect for our small hall half-bath, where the kids go to use the bathroom and wash up after being outside. It stays put and doesn't slide around. It's slightly uncomfortable on bare feet because of the non-slip standing surface, but is great for shoes that might be slippery when wet, etc. see less

This is the best stool for little wobbly toddlers. my son fell of another stool just days before we purchased this one. this stool is very sturdy, won't tip over, and is a little higher then the typical single step stools so he can actually reach the water to brush his teeth at the sink at 21 mo old. and he loves the bear on the side. a little pricey, but worth it. see less

I purchased this stool to use to get up on a tall bed. It works great. It is very sturdy, and the bottom step rotates up and stores under the top step to take up less space if desired. It did not take very long to put together, however, as stated in the other reviews, it took a little more effort because the pre-drilled holes did not line up well.This was not a big ordeal. It is a great and affordable stool. I really shopped around, and this was the best option I found. see less

Doing a search for "pretty step stools" produced some odd results, but I did come across this one. I was looking for something to use in our walk-in closet with high ceilings - and high shelves. I'm using it on carpet, and it sometimes feels slightly unstable, but I think that's more of a flooring issue. It is also a good height for reaching tall shelves. The step stool looks very nice and was relatively easy to put together. The instructions could have been more detailed and/or descriptive, but if you have experience with build-it-yourself furniture, you should be able to figure it out. I'm much happier with this than I would have been with a utility step stool. see less

Don't go by the bad reviews. This is the best value for that retro look and half the money. It is not ment to sit on for long periods of time. Can be a bit tough on the bottom. I have it in my bedroom to sit on to put shoes on and stay off my made up bed. I do use it in the kitchen to reach the higher shelves. It is well made and goes together easy. I may change out the seat/back with a different color, turq, maybe. The chair works well as does the steps that tuck under when not in use. It is very sturdy and stays in place when used as a ladder. Good to reach up to get something, set it on the seat then use the back to hold on to when getting down. Never stand on the seat. Anything higher than the 2nd step get a ladder. see less

This was a gift to my in-laws whose 60 year old (no kidding) stool like it finally breathed it's last. They were able to put it together and say that it is great! I had a hard time finding this type of item anywhere else and it's perfect. I doubt it will last 60 years, but it is sturdy and the price is right! Happy to find it here! see less
