We love this infant insert for our Ergo - our baby was born on the smaller side, at 6lbs, and we were able to safely and comfortably take her out for walks and small hikes right away with this insert in our Ergobaby carrier. Also a nice way to keep germs away from the little ones when they are this small. We felt she stayed really warm in it too - it includes a little removable pillow that stuffs into the bottom to keep the littlest infants very snug, and even with the pillow, her head stayed below the top of the insert and out of the elements. Very nice that you can remove the pillow to let her grow with the insert. A little difficult to maneuver by yourself, especially if you are wearing a lot of clothes, jackets - definitely try it with someone else to help for the first time. It does get easier, though! see less

I don't usually write reviews, but the ERGO deserves the recognition. I purchased the carrier and infant insert for my week old infant. I have a Chicco carrier that is good, but lacks the head support for my infant. The ERGO infant insert provides the support and comfort that he needs. He loves riding in the carrier and I love that I can give my 4 year old and my infant the attention they desire at the same time. My baby is secure and I am able to accomplish other tasks while nurturing my infant. By far the best carrier I have used! I live see less

Friends of ours own this Ergo, so I knew it was going to be a good buy. My baby calms down as soon as he's in it comfortably, with maybe 3-4 minutes of bouncing and soothing. We got it right before going on a cross-country plane ride when he was 5 weeks old. My back does start to hurt if I've had him in it for a couple hours. I think it'll be better once my baby is big enough to not need the infant insert. My back feels better when I'm able to adjust the clip across my shoulder blades to be further down my back -- but I can only do that if someone else is around to close it for me. Otherwise, I can easily put this on by myself and then have my hands free to do whatever needs to be done. It has been a life saver! see less

I have tried multiple carriers, including slings, wraps, and front carriers. This one beats them all. It is SO easy to put on quickly, and there's plenty of room for my larger-than-average infant. He usually just falls asleep in it while I'm walking. I also LOVE that I can discreetly nurse him while he's in there. Seriously, my husband didn't realize I was feeding the baby until I asked if he could tell. There's a snap-on canopy that's perfect for nursing, or protecting little heads from the sun. It's very comfortable, well worth every penny. see less

This is a great carrier. I liked how it is good for hip development vs other carriers. I had a cheaper carrier and it was not anywhere near as comfortable as this one. It is pricey, but you get your moneys worth. My little girl wasn't as fond of the front carry but she loves the hip carry. I definitely recommend this to others! Only issue was the hip carry was confusing to figure out with the instructions so I watched their youtube video and got it. see less

[...] And the ERGO, I should have bough the Ergo first. It would've saved me a lot of time and money. The fabric is very soft and it's so easy to use by myself. I love using it while running errands because it's so simple to use. I can tell my baby is very comfortable. So far I've only used it for my baby in the front, but when he gets a little older, I'm looking forward to putting him on my back to give him a new perspective. Love the way this feels to wear and the weight of it -it's light. And easy to use. Took a couple of times for baby to get used to it, but she was at an awkward size when I first got it- too big for the insert, but not quite comfortable without it. I experimented with every baby carrier, Baby Bjorn, Moby, Infantino, sling, Boba, even the other Ergobaby carriers, and this by far is the most comfortable for me and my little one. The only draw back is the period of time when the baby is too big for the infant insert, yet too small to hang his legs out the side. Love the fabric, the pockets, and the sun shade. see less

Quality carrier for a decent price! Stitching is pristine and the comfort is beyond the best. Skip the other ones and invest in this one - one of the only ones that will not leave your back hurting. Easy to nurse with baby in it. Again let me repeat! Espcially if you have older children or just need your hands free, this one or ANY ergo for that matter, is what you want!! see less

This carrier is so comfortable and the fabric is quite cool even in Florida heat! I'm not saying I won't sweat in the summer, though. This is great for mom's and dad's because it has a longer waist band than the original ergo. It's very comfortable even though I have back problems and it makes me happy that it actually keeps my baby's spine curvature proper because it causes him to sit in a seated fashion not like the "crotch dangling" kind, that I've read could cause back/hip issues. I also like that I will be able to use this till my baby is like 2 or 3 yrs old, since my oldest like to be carried around a lot at that age I'm sure this will come in handy for this baby older as he get. see less

I love how plush the shoulder straps are. It takes a little bit to get use to since I've been using the Moby Wrap. However, the infant insert is a little awkward and my little one simply does not like being in this carrier. He can be smiley and happy but as soon as I put him in it, he screams. It's too bad because I really wanted a carrier that would be better for my back and shoulders! see less

i have a hand me down act ... see more

i have a hand me down active bjorn that i rarely use because my son doesn't like to be dangled in it for long. it also digs into me when i tighten it. i purchased the black/camel ergobaby carrier and noticed immediately the difference in comfort. my son also enjoys sitting in it comfortably. the instruction book is a little out of order with the pictures so it's best to watch the videos. i've tried it with hip carry and back carry & my son loves either way. i ended up wanting the khaki color so i'm waiting for it to ship home. i can't wait to use it because it'll be easier to do things around the house. see less

we bought this as the description said it is a cotton insert. The word "performance" was not in the description. We get it all the way home to Canada and realize it's the performance insert we could have purchased here. Target needs to change the description. This insert is not all cotton. see less

I tried Babybjorn Miracle Baby Carrier and was disappointed about the result. I went online and did more research and decided to try Ergobaby. I love it! I can hardly feel the baby's weight! Both my baby and me are comfy! It's not only comfy but also stylish! If you ask me what I don't about this carrier is the price and the fact that I can't use it with my baby facing foward. see less

As you probably already know from other ergobaby reviews, this is much easier on the back than the original baby Bjorne. I like that it folds into itself so that you aren't lugging around another big baby thing with unwieldy straps. The material on this is lighter than the original canvas and should work nicely in the warm summer months. As a nursing mom, I do miss the ability to face baby outward because I think this makes the baby want to eat more when his head is always in my chest. Overall a great purchase with which I am really happy. Oh and the teething straps are nice, too. I have not tried the side and back placement, so I cannot attest to its ease of use. see less

We -my husband and I- love this carrier. Our baby boy was not interested in a sling carrier but this one is great. We bought the infant insert but the baby isn't too crazy about it since it squishes him in and makes him hot. Mind you, he's a fairly big baby. He was 8 lb 5 oz and birth and is now 16 lbs at 3.5 months. We stopped using the insert at around 10 weeks because he seemed so squished. I would definitely use it for smaller babies though as they will fall down too far into the carrier and could also slip through the sides. This carrier doesn't hurt my back since it puts a lot of the weight on your hips. It's simple to put on by yourself once you use it a few times. I can get him into it while walking from the car into a store. It's really well made and seems like it will last through multiple babies. I can't wait for when he's bigger and I or my husband can carry him on our back. see less

A wide base for baby to sit to diminish the risk of hip dysplasia. My baby is now 5 months old and it comes in handy when she's feeling clingy and our arms are tired! She often falls asleep in it after a few minutes of fussing. Very cozy, sturdy fabric - with a little hood to keep the sun off her head. Overall, a great buy! Some issues... the buckle on the waist is a little hard to adjust and to clip on because there's an elastic band it needs to be threaded through. I wish the strap around the back was as padded and contoured as the front. Its a little difficult to adjust the strap across the shoulder blades, but its great and comfy once it's all put together. see less

I am so excited that Target is finally carrying this carrier. I bought several different carrier for my first baby and could not find one that I was in love with. Tried the wraps, slings and even some big name brand carriers but nothing compared until I bought this carrier for my then 12 month old. The padding is so thick and the waist strap so comfy, she would knock out so quickly in it!! She's 2 now but we have another one on the way so this one is gonna be the carrier for him. see less
