Take it from someone who has been using hummingbird feeders for 20 years this is the absolute best! I buy a new one every year or two as the sun does fade the red color of it here in Phoenix and I like to keep it looking fresh. No need to dye the hummingbird food (which hurts their reproductive systems).if you get the red glass. I've had at least 5, they all work beautifully and I have nonstop traffic at it from dawn to dusk. (They'll come right up to it while I'm lounging in my chair inches away! So fearless!) It's much more fun to watch the birds drink from this in flight than the kind of feeders with a bar for them to perch on and more natural for them. I use it on a small sheperd's hook and like I said they have been working beautifully for me for years, The only hitch I ever had was when a woodpecker started visiting, solved that after some experimentations, by punching a hole in one of those clear plastic dishes you put under houseplants and attaching at base of feed tube so hummingbirds still have easy access but no other birds! (FYI, 4 parts water to 1 part sugar to make your own hummingbird food). Clean occasionally with little bleach and water, otherwise rinse well with water (no soap) in between fillings. Enjoy!
