Take it from someone who has been using hummingbird feeders for 20 years this is the absolute best! I buy a new one every year or two as the sun does fade the red color of it here in Phoenix and I like to keep it looking fresh. No need to dye the hummingbird food (which hurts their reproductive systems).if you get the red glass. I've had at least 5, they all work beautifully and I have nonstop traffic at it from dawn to dusk. (They'll come right up to it while I'm lounging in my chair inches away! So fearless!) It's much more fun to watch the birds drink from this in flight than the kind of feeders with a bar for them to perch on and more natural for them. I use it on a small sheperd's hook and like I said they have been working beautifully for me for years, The only hitch I ever had was when a woodpecker started visiting, solved that after some experimentations, by punching a hole in one of those clear plastic dishes you put under houseplants and attaching at base of feed tube so hummingbirds still have easy access but no other birds! (FYI, 4 parts water to 1 part sugar to make your own hummingbird food). Clean occasionally with little bleach and water, otherwise rinse well with water (no soap) in between fillings. I purchased this awesome glass Hummingbird feeder. I too had drips, from the stopper that came with the feeder. However, I drilled a hole in the cork from a wine bottle, and viola' the feeder works, NO MORE DRIP!!!!!! see less

I think this item was priced really well and got to my father just in time for fathers day! It's perfect if you want something that looks really expensive but it actually rather cheap! The glass and the metal parts of it make it look very decorative and not tacky at all. The colors also blend nicely with the trees. There is also a lot of detail put into the metal bottom where the hummingbirds eat from, they are engraved flowers, which you can't really see from thsi pic. So overall I got a lot more than what I paid for! And my Dad loved it :) see less
