I never read this book as a kid. My husband insisted we buy it for our baby and I thought it was the dumbest, ugliest book! Well she's almost two now, and I have to read this book to her at least 5 times a day, and its going to be the theme of her birthday party! Sigh. I still hate this book but my daughter loves it to death, so I guess I have to highly recommend it. see less

My kids and I love this board book. Board books are great in general because they hold up longer than the others. This one is really cute. Helps the kids with numbers, colors and learning the days of the week as well. I give this book to everyone who is having a baby. It still makes me cry every time I read it and my baby is 19 now. This book tells just where a mothers heart is at all stagges of their childrens life. I even took this book to read to the kindergarten class even knowing it would make me cry, the kids thought that was cool and all gave me hugs. I told the class to never get to big that they won't hug thier moms.I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! see less

My triplets boys will be 3 soon and they love this one. It's really hard to find a book that keeps their interest. But they will all snuggle up to me (mom) and let me read to them. They actually enjoy the goofy made-up characters in this book. Plus, I love the fact that the book is a board book, keeps them from damaging it. I work as an early childhood educator and always purchase Brown Bear books as gifts for parents in our program to read to their children. This book has a wonderful cadence and rythmn that can be tapped on the board book when read to the child. This is a great way to keep the childs attention while reading the book. It is also exciting when you see the child pick up the book and start tapping and "reading" (as best they can) the book. It also teachers children primary colors and is easily memorized for retelling. I recommend it to everyone with young children - and for gifts. see less

The book offers condensed versions of the Old Testament Stories and gives a really good account of Jesus's life from birth to Resurrection. Definately consider this as a must read! I have seen a huge improvement in my son's sleeping habits and happiness level. I have also begun to realize WHY my child needs so much sleep, and how to get him to easily go down for bed/naps. This book has a TON of information. It gets a little statistical sometimes, which I think I would have appreciated more reading before the baby got here. Instead, I bought it in desperation trying to get my colicky baby to sleep and found it hard to absorb and/or make choices on the information and options when I was already massively sleep-deprived. Granted, the book explains how to go about reading it if you are already sleep-deprived and dealing with an extremely fussy baby; I just know that if you are an information person, like me, you will do a little better with this book if you can get it before baby arrives. Overall, though, it really is a fantastic resource for getting babies to sleep! see less
