tihis pump is a little more on the expensive side, but it is definitely worth it.
In the hospital, I was given a single manual pump from a more popular brand. it took me forever to get anything, and it felt like it pulled more.
with this pump the comfort pads do provide Some extra comfort.
I usually start with the lowest level of suction for a minute or two, then I go to the highest. even at the highest level the pumping is comfortable. I do have flat nipples so I have to push mine further in to get more milk.
but with this pump I usually get about 4 oz per 15 minute session, and my baby is three weeks.
I plan to get the reusable storage cups that double as bottles as well, for when I return to work.
I bought this set in store and it came with a cooler bag too.
with the suction covers, it makes it easier to pump more early on. you can pump, cover, and pump again in a couple hrs.
I bought this as a secondary pump to my electric, made by another manufacturer, and I now use it more than the electric. Of course it's silent so I can use it on one while nursing the other, late night and not wake my husband, and at work to avoid the embarrassing compressor sound. In the same amount of time, I actually get more using this pump.
When my first son was born I used a [...] electric pump the first few days and was in so much pain I dreaded pumping just to get him to latch on. I switched to the advent manual within the week and was relieved! Its so much gentler and it doesn't take long. I am defintely going to get this one again for the new baby. I see other manual models that have similar features now that its 8 years later but I'm sticking to whats familiar especially during those first weeks when everything is chaotic enough.
I am in love with everything avent! all of their products are amazing this pump is very quiet and easy to use . I also have the avent electirc steam sterilizer and the pump is very easy to take apart and put together for sterilization !i highly recommend
