I LOVE this set! it has tons of detail in the house, yard and mini-figures. It was an average build and took me an hour to an hour and a half to build. The play experience is wonderful and i could seriously play with this set for hours. Olivia's parents (Peter and Anna) were a great add on to the set and just makes this set better! I have many Lego and Lego friends sets and this one is probably my favorite. It is a great addition to your Lego town and just overall an amazing set and i would definetley recommend it to everyone! :)
I bought this set for myself, and I really enjoy it. It was a pretty easy build. I, personally, didn't like how the kitchen was set up, and that the front door led into the kitchen. But for me that was the beginning of the fun! I rearranged the kitchen, adding more counter space, a cupboard, and a coffee machine. I also moved the kitchen stuff into the family room, and the family room stuff in to the kitchen, and I'm much happier with the setup. Using windows for walls, I made the parents a bedroom, with Olivia's bed. I put the bed from Mia's Bedroom set in Olivia's room, and it matched the color scheme perfectly. I also reconstructed Olivia's room to put her deck outside the front of her room. I also added a deck for the parents, fixing the roofing problems by removing Olivia's deck. I didn't touch the bathroom, except to add four 2 by one green tiles, as towels. I also removed one of the drawers from this room, adding it to Olivia's room. I also put a few plates under the roof, instantly adding storage!
I put the house and the yard on a green 30/30 plate to stabilize, also adding more yard space. While not all of her yard fits, it works better for play. In the yard I added a patio, doghouse, and Emma's Splash Pool. I guess what I'm saying is that I really like this set, because it adds a lot of possibility for personal improvement.
I would really like to see room sets, sets with just a room that you can add to the house. Specifically a parent's room, another girl's bedroom ( Wouldn't it be fun to use random Lego friend parts and give Olivia a sister?), and blank rooms, without furniture. If Lego were to come out with blank rooms, I would buy two, adding them to my house, placing Emma's Studio in. Also maybe another, to put Emma's Karate class in. It would be fun! And you wouldn't have to worry about too many rooms, because there rooms change in and out so easily, you can just put away the one's you aren't playing with. I would also enjoying see more outfits for the Mom and Dad. But it's not a huge deal.
I would like to clarify that I did not name all of the things I added.
I got this set for Christmas, and I am very pleased with it. I have always made Lego seaside resorts with spas and pools, and I always wanted Lego to get a set out that had something similar. I was very excited when this came out, and that it was my favorite theme: Lego Friends! The minifigs that come with this set are really great, with new printed tops and legs, and the little rare pieces are a great touch, like the ice cream, sausage, slush puppies and palm leaves. The hidden waterfall is really nice with its large glass window, as is the Jacuzzi with little bubbles and nice curved wall elements. The large pool is nice and spacious, with the basketball net and curving steps. Going upstairs: the diving board, with it's mini-ladder, is a great addition, I love the spring especially. The slide is one of the best pieces, and the Friends go down it really nicely.
The Snack bar is really great, with its printed signs and little details. I play that Olivia's mum from Olivia's house works there.
The shower and changing room are really nice, the soap is a great touch, and the green folding doors are nice and smooth.
Altogether, this is a really nice set with lots of detail and good playing value, I have spent hours having great fun with it. :)
I have recently become a Lego fan and i saw this product built and on display at my local toy store its the Lego HEARTLAKE POOL SET and i simply fell in Love with it.Any age can secretly play with LEGO and being disabled and am often poorly.I can really have great fun building this step by step and it was something i could go back to over a period of time when i felt up to building it.Its such a fun set with a great themed design love the extra details such as the speakers, moving palm leaves, basketball net and ball, the sauna small pool as well as big pool, love the slide and ladder and spring board, the sun loungers and cafe make great extra,s tables, shower and double toilet room with opening doors,Flowers, icecream cones and cool drinks
I will definatly reccomend this for lots of great fun please keep these sets coming Lego and can we maybe have fairground rides of sevral types theme park sets for girls no matter what age they are
My daughter loved putting together the Lego Petshop. It was difficult enough to be challenging, but not so much that she was frustrated. She has continued to play with it since receiving it for Christmas.
My 5yo daughter and I were scanning through the Lego Catalog to see what Lego set we could buy, when she spotted Emma's Horse Trailer.
When we bought the set, I was expecting that I would have to build the set for my child but the instructions were laid out exceptionally well. This set is recommended for 6+ but my 5yo had no trouble putting it together with just a little assistance from her dad.
It's a great set as once it's built, your child is guaranteed to have hours of fun. I highly recommend it to any parent who wants their child to learn to put a lego set together themselves.
My 10 year old got this, addition to her friends sets and she put it together herself. I like that it is 2 sets in one.... The rock stage swivels around to a ballerina stage... We didn't even realize that cute guitar too...
My six year old daughter received this set for Christmas. She put it together all by herself and was extremely proud of her efforts. She also loves the finished product and plays with it frequently. It has brought hours of enjoyment to our home.
The Lego Friends City Park Cafe is a fantastic addition to the Lego Friends universe. The model is highly detailed and features an indoor and outdoor eating area, a food service/preparation area, and a cash register. It also has an amazing number of accessories that help make play that much more dynamic. I purchased this set for my daughter, and this set always features prominently among other Friends sets.
The model itself has really interesting features, not the least of which is the curved roofline. The colour choices are fantastic, and gives the whole set a classic diner feel. Two of our favourite features are the milkshake serving machine and the gumball dispenser! The patio section is detached and can be added to some of the other free-floating Friends playsets to create great common areas.
A beautiful set with lots of variety and a fantastic look!
I got this set a while back and I have never stopped enjoying playing with it. It's an easy build, including lots of great stickers and detail, like the large milkshake poster on the rare corner brick, or the brilliant new cash register. And it has some nice glass pieces so that the interior is light, plus some small rare neon bricks that go around the sign.
However, I think that the best feature of this set is that you can do loads of things with it, like Olivia's house. For instance, the cute mini hamburger:
If you take out the fillings, the two 'bread' pieces left can be put together to make buns, or one of the 'bread' pieces can be used as a pancake. And you can change the fillings of the cupcakes, and the milkshakes. It also comes with a printed orange juice carton, knives and forks, rare plates, and a custard pie that comes from one of the minifigures series.
This set is super, great play value, comes with two great new Friends figures, and is worth the money!!!
My 7 year old daughter received this for Christmas, and immediately put the set together that evening. The set was not difficult to assemble, with my daughter putting most of it together herself. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. The set itself is very nice, it comes with some nice extras, bucket for food for the horses, carrots, plus you can change the horse to be with or without the saddle. The top of the stable is movable for easy play inside once it is built.
My older daughter has always loved playing with Legos, but before the Lego Friends sets came out, my 7 year old was not too interested. Now she also loves building them and spends hours playing with them. I am really pleased with all the Lego Friends sets that we have! Thanks, Lego!!

It's not just for kids....Grandmothers like it too
Another great set in the "Friends" collection. My Granddaughters visit me for a couple of weeks in the Summer. I purchased this set and some others to have as a fun activity for us to share during their stay. The girls put this and the other sets together with no problems. The pictured instructions were clear and easy for 5 and 7 year olds to follow. We had hours and hours of creative play time. I did send them home with a NIB set each and a promise that for birthdays and Christmas more sets would be added to their collection. I had never played with Lego products as a child so I was suprised at how addictive the Lego expericence took hold of me. I somehow have purchased every "Friends" set for me as well as for my Granddaughter. Can't wait to see what sets are coming for 2013.
I'm a college graduate who grew up collecting/playing with Lego, and I saw this set in the clearance aisle of my local big box store. I usually go for Castle or LOTR sets these days, but this treehouse took me back to my childhood Belville days and I couldn't resist scooping it up (apparently I have 6-12 year old tastes). ;)
Things I love:
-The animals each have a "home"-- kitty has a bed, and the bird has a house. Just too cute, and satisfying somehow.
-New flower elements- way cooler than the ones I had as a kid!
-Unlike Belville, these are roughly the same size as the other Lego themes. I remember as a kid kinda resenting the implication that girls couldn't build small, detailed models-- the Belville sets included huge wall elements and oversized characters, and were generally unsatisfying builds that didn't mix well with my other Legos. I like what Lego has done with the Friends line. Some people say they're "too small"--I prefer them the same size as other themes.
-You can swap hair elements with traditional minifigs! It's a little thing, but I love the new hair elements and it's fun that you can use the styles you already have on the Friends as well (or put Friends hair on your Castle princess).
-Tons of fun details! The little milk carton is adorable, I love the telescope, and the flowers/ladybugs/butterflies are fun to decorate with.
-Good construction. Unlike the tree in the Medieval Market Village, this one doesn't constantly fall apart (don't get me wrong, I love my MMV).
Things I don't love:
-Lego's a bit more stingy with the minidolls than they are with traditional minifigs. The Friends sets in the $20-$35 price range come with only one or two figures, while other themes will have 3-4 figures in this range. The animals in this set kind of help make up for that, but still, I wanted more than one figure.
...so of course I had to buy more Friends sets.
In conclusion, I don't know that I would have bought this at full price, but on clearance it was a heck of a deal and I love it. I now have the urge to buy ALL the Friends sets. This could be bad. But it will definitely be fun!
This is a perfect first set. It has fun pieces, like cats, a ladder, and a bench. It's not well supported on the left of the tree house when you look at the front of it, so kind of be careful on that part. Though it has 191 pieces, I don't think twenty dollars was appropriate.More like fifteen dollars would be nice.
i picked this set up for my 5 year old daughter yesterday.she came back into the living room(we set up our spare bedroom to display and build our legos, the living room was getting crowded.)and said "look dad,done."..i was like "man, that was only a half hour.im gonna go broke if you keep building these this fast!"..its true because when shes done building a set,she starts talking about this other set she saw and wants now.she gets it from me i guess:)anyway,i didnt build it so ill let her review it...ok,this tree house is awesome!there are flowers all over the tree tops,a cat bed for Olivia's kitty, and a really cool birdhouse with a birdy! The ladder is cool,it lets Olivia climb up to her treehouse and play with her kitty and water her flowers.i like this lego the best because of all the flowers and pretty colors.it reminds me of summer.build me a tree house dad...ok parents,i think its all about the colors with these friends sets.my daughter loves these sets, she wont take any help on them and the cool thing is,she doesnt need any.im very proud of my little one.awesome.she has her eye on a few more friends sets but we still have a few chima and superhero sets to collect.she loves them though so those others might have to wait a little bit.thats cool too because i get to see her build these by herself.one cool thing,i told her that the "other" blok building company has barbie sets, she looked at me and said "they arent legos dad, they just arent the same..."..i think she got that from a Family guy episode..too funny.love that baby.:)
