My daughter was ecstatic to receive this for Christmas. Target had the best price of everywhere I looked. The set had easy to follow instructions for my almost six-year-old, although some parts required some adult help to create. Her almost eight-year-old sister did a lot of helping. The only downside to the initial set up was that she lost interest as it did take some time to put together. Once it was fully assembled, the girls played with it constantly! A great item -- and it will last a long time! see less

We purchased this for our daughter that just turned 6 and she LOVES it. She was so excited about it that we completed the entire house in one sitting together. At first, we planned to do one room at a time each day, but she didn't want to stop. I helped with the stickers, my 7 year old organized the legos for each page and then my 6 year old put everything together. Some of the items are very small and need a few tries to get them to stay in place, but overall a great investment. Only downside I can say is, I wish the entire set was a bit larger so she could really play with it like a dollhouse. The size that it is only allows her to carefully play with it, or else she ends up knocking over other items or having some things break apart. see less

This is a really cute set, but it is definitely for an older child with advanced fine motor skills. The directions are pretty good. I guess if one is familiar with the Lego product, she will find this easy to put together. The moving parts lend themselves to imaginative play. Even her older brother was impressed with the "secret compartment." My 7 year old saw these and wanted to try them. She liked seeing how other Lego sets were put together but then lost interest. This set has held her interest and I thought the treehouse left a lot of room for imaginative play. I really don't understand the drama about the Lego Friends line...at first I was skeptical too...what, girls can't play with regular Legos?...but once I saw how much my daughter enjoyed them I got over it. They're Legos marketed to girls, not the only Legos for girls. see less

I love the Lego Star Wars Rancor Pit! It's from the Jabba the Hut scene in Return of the Jedi. On the back of the box it says you can combine it with Jabba's palace. There's a gate that you can drop on Rancor. There's even a hidden compartment where you can put bones and a place where Luke can hide. There is a door that opens and if you wish the set was bigger, there's a little thing where the set opens up. Rancor can walk around and he can go Da da da da. I'm 6 years old and I put it together myself. The set came out this year. I recommend it to anyone who loves legos and star wars. see less

Excellent set, modular construction of the walls makes it easy to build with the kids over several nights, and easier to store without taking the whole thing apart. While Helm's Deep is not a required purchase for those trying to collect the whole fellowship, it does have some cool figs not available in other sets. This was a great parent and child project, child is 6, older kids would have no problems assembling on their own. A homerun set from Lego, and my favorite of the LOTR collection. see less

This is one of my favorite Lego set recently and the best starship kit we have built. It feels compact and looks very cool. It is easy for my son to hold while playing. The set was easy to assemble with the included directions. The build time was enough to be satisfying without becoming a chore. The ship is very well designed and is not as fragile as other sets I have experience with. Even after several days of play all of the pieces are still on together. The other great feature about this set is the additional minifigs and the little mining platforms for the figs to battle from. Overall great set with a lot of play value. Everyone automatically assumes Star Wars and Legos are just for boys. This is totally wrong, we got this set for my son who is 8 yo. My 12 yo daughter has been playing with him and enjoying it as well! Neither of them has ever seen a Star Wars movie but they both love Legos and know more about Star Wars than I do! The set came with not just 1 or 2 little Lego figures but 5!!! YES!!! My kids thought this was incredibly awesome and of course they set out to first put these figures together and have little play fights with them. The fun part is they even came with light sabers! They have been working together to put the ship together and we all like that the pieces come in separate bags like little kits that make it easier to figure out what is what. My son struggled a bit with the instructions since they are all pictures and very little wording. You have to guess a lot what the pictures mean. I am so happy Lego finally came out with girly legos. I bought this for my daughter to go with her other "Friends" legos and her and my son both love it. I'm going to get him a lego car of his own soon. It rolls very smoothly and a perfect size. Love the instruction book....easy enough for a 6/7 year old to follow directions. We have had a blast building these little treasures. I only gave it 4 stars on value only because I think they are a little pricey but all in all, great toys that provide hours of imagination!!!! see less

My 5 year old is adamant that she is going to be a Veterinarian, and I have been eager to get her a "small bricks" set. She finally showed interest in them when she saw the pretty colors and fun girly themes of the Lego Friends sets. She created the buildings, carefully following the instructions with a little help from daddy, then took them apart to try new things for hours of creative play just as I enjoyed doing as a child! I love listening to her play and joining the fun myself. I must admit, looking at the box I was unsure if the contents were worthy of the price. But Legos are a toy I truly value for the creativity, fine motor, and problem solving skills they encourage a child to develop and I was very pleasantly surprised by the high level of fun details in this set! This is my first Lego kit I have not actually finished putting it together yet but I have built several mini figures and completed the tower I tend to think the mini figures are the big sellers of kits and this one gives you plenty The instructions are very easy though sometimes the angle or the brick color in the drawing can be confusing There are a lot of small pieces What is nice is that the instructions cover each bag You only need to open one bag at a time NOTE Some people who have the older kits of Jabba Palace Lego had put out before have complained that the bricks are not compatible These bricks are smaller I believe see less

My 7 year old received this set for his 7th birthday and was able to assemble it by himself in several hours. There are so many fun details that it just really lends itself to extended playing. The bush and the police sign on the front edge of the set do tend to fall off a lot but lego sets tend to suffer casualties when played with. Overall Excellent value! see less
