Bought Aug 2011 still works flawlessly Nov 26, 2012. This Black Friday sale my husband got one too for [$$]. Easy to use, easy to read. BN has a huge selection of e-books. I could read e-books on it for free from the library exclusively if I liked. Never driving to and from the library again and no late fees. Don't worry about internal storage. You can archive and unarchive your BN Nook bought books at will. Insert a microSD card for your own side loaded books. I manage mine with a program called calibre. Nook uses ePub format and Kindle does not. Far more books in ePub. I'm a tech geek so I'll buy a full blown tablet to do the rest on not a color e reader as every brand is not really a full blown tablet and restrict you to their store. I like my Nook Simple Touch as is not fragile, nothing to scratch on it, toss it in my stuff even easier than a paperback. Fills the gap between paper book and tablet. see less

I owned a Kindle, but was dissatisfied with the quality. The NOOK is easy to hold in the hand, very easy to use, and the screen is great to read on. Also, if I have any questions on what books to read, I go to my local [...] in New York and the staff their is great. Definitely gets my recommendation. see less

My Nook with Glowlight is the best e-reader I've owned. I have an iPad, but the Nook is easier on my eyes, and I can still read in bed at night without an extra light on. It's more lightweight than my first e-reader, so I can keep it in my purse without it adding much weight or taking up much space. I always have books to read wherever I go! Also, it has so much memory, I don't think I could ever fill it up. The battery lasts a very long time, too. see less

I honestly don't think this value can be beat. Yes, there are better tablets out there, but none of them come close to matching this per dollar spent. I've wanted an iPad for so long, but just couldn't justify forking up the dough for what I would be using it for. I also know how much profit Apple makes on every tablet whereas [...] is probably selling the Nook at cost, or even less. The Nook gives me everything I need and does not crush the budget. see less
