We really like this car seat. It was easy to install. We checked the cup holders, they fit most zippy cups except ones with a square bottom. We like that the cup holders can be taken out to cleaned and they can go in the dish washer. Moving the straps was easy too.
If you have SUV you should be fine with this seat. I have [...] and it fix nicely in middle. Only complaint is the middle button to loosen the straps is hard to get to when rear facing. It pushes up against the seat which makes it difficult to get hand in between to loose straps. Baby loves the seat and she looks comfortable. I'd recommend this seat for people with large cars.
This car seat is the Mac-daddy of car seats. Nothing was left untouched it was being made....From replaceable snack cup to safety mechanism...it truly has met all my needs and wants.
I LOVE this car seat! It's versatile, stylish, safe, and somehow still looks clean. I am currently using it rear facing for my 10 month old but it will have NO problem transitioning to a front facing car seat until she can graduate from car seats all together.
DISCLAIMER: It's wide and tall. Not the base, but the upper 2/3rds. I was worried about its size with 2 other children getting in and out, but it's never been a problem. I have a van so I'm not short on space so I find it's size a safety bonus. It you are trying to put 3 kids together on one row of seating, this would not be a good choice for you. If you have a single captain chair or only 2 kids per bench, you'll be just fine.
INSTALLATION: When it came out of the box I was shocked at how big it seemed on the driveway. I have a van so I was confident it would fit, but I worried about the car seat for my 4 yr old that would need to be next to it. To my surprise, the size was not a problem. The bottom 1/3 of the car seat is still trim and narrow so it fit like a charm in the space allotted. I use the latch system to secure it to the car and it was the easiest I've ever done. My previous car seat had only 1 latch belt to use so when I tried to move the belt to accommodate a rear facing position I had to thread it through the layers of fabric and padding. It was very frustrating. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there are separate latch belts for rear or front facing use. Belts loosen and tighten without any hassle.
QUALITY: I'm in love with the fabric. It's yet to show any sign of a drooling, snacking, teething baby or her 2 sisters who constantly seem to make the rest of the car messy. There are 2 cup holders on both sides of the seat that have been incredibly useful for pacifiers, toys, snacks, and drinks.
SETUP AND FEATURES: This car seat comes fully assembled right out of the box. There are cup holders on both sides built right into the car seat which is much more convenient than the detachable holders found on some other brands that hang far off the sides and make it hard for our 1 year old to reach her water cup. The materials all feel high quality from the heavy plastics to the stitching on the fabric.
INSTALLATION: We currently use this car seat rear-facing in a smaller car (VW Jetta), directly behind the driver, with plenty of space. It was very easy to install into the vehicle. The recline on this model is not a lever recline but rather feet underneath the car seat that either flip under the car seat (rear facing) or are folded out to prop up the seat (forward facing). We used both the LATCH and lap belt with shoulder strap. Both were very easy to put in place and tighten. My one critique is that the latch has manual clips instead of a buckle latch which works more like a seat belt, and is easier to install. This model is a little more difficult to take apart.
SAFETY: The car seat seems very secure after tightening the straps. There is a built in level to ensure that the car seat is properly level. There is the standard 5-point harness which seems to sit comfortably. The sides of the headrest are more pronounced which provides better head support side to side, and in case of an accident, more protection.
ADJUSTING: The car seat adjusts as your child grows so the straps need to be adjusted as to fit. The straps need to be placed into 1 of 5 shoulder strap levels. This involves unhooking the straps, removing, and rethreading into the next size harness slot. This is slightly annoying and could be avoided by the more expensive models.
PRICE: I think the price is very good for the safety and quality of the car seat. I could see upgrading to the next model to make the adjustments easier, but for the few times I need to adjust I will keep my [$].
Overall we really enjoy this car seat and would definitely recommend for anyone.
