I had been researching cast iron grill pans and came across this one. It's an amazing pan at an amazing price. Target stores have it [$] cheaper than the online price & it is money well spent.I like that it is square, you can fit more in that way. I use it for paninis and basically look for anything that can go between 2 pieces of bread the pan is that good! Heats well, crisps perfectly, and is a nice heavy quality. I also use it to grill meat, quesedillas and veggies. The whole pan can go in the oven as well. It is super versatile, cleans easily & looks beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. I have enjoyed this panini pan far more than I anticipated! It is heavy, durable, and works like a dream on my electric cooktop or on the outdoor kitchen gas cooktop. The panini sandwiches, and a few other things, have been kicked up a notch at my house. Also, it is a beautiful color...matches my Le Crueset cookware and I saved quite a bit with THIS purchase. I bought this last night...i have been eyeing it for a while and it was on sale so I thought why not? I woke up this morning and pressed a bagel between it and added cooked eggs and cheese and presto...a breakfast sandwich...better than I could have bought at any restaurant! This is amazing! Having a press on top of ... see more

Having a press on top of my bacon makes it fry more evenly, and there seems to be less splatter. And having it cook without curling up just makes my BLT sandwiches go together better. see less

Long Live Lodge!! This press is the perfect size to fit into my 10 inch cast iron skillet (10 inches at the rim, not at the bottom). The press is ACTUALLY 7 1/2 inches edge to edge, and has more than adequate weight to do the job. The top of the plate is 'hammered' for a nice finish. I leave mine on top of the stove so I can look at it. -- It's beautiful!!! The flat bottom on this press makes it much easier to clean than a press with ribs and/or holes. The handle is black instead of shiny stainless, if that matters to you. Remember, if you get a press that fits the pan, it works almost as well as a lid to prevent splatters. Presses also make the food cook faster. Win - win!!Hope This Helps see less
