The pre-seasoning made it ready to use upon arrival and it cleans easily with water and a brush, a coating of oil and wipe with a paper towel and it is ready to store for the next use. I am enjoying my pans. I have had to do some research on how to care for them though. Yes, heat them and then add oil is a good idea. That way it does not get too hot before you put in the food and splatter all over. Make sure to add the oil slowly. Cooking spray does not work the best. It tends to leave brown spots. They come off with a product recommended by Kitchenaid. I accidently got the pan too hot and the bottom turned coppery colored. I tried vinegar, baking soda, and dish soap. It would not come off. I went and got this product and it saved my pan. Vinegar works well to polish. Absolutely no dishwasher for these pans. I repeat no dishwasher!! Also Medium heat is high enough to boil water in these pans. I did wash them once in the dishwasher and they turned bluish. Vinegar polished them back up, but I will be hand washing from now on. I have been cooking for twenty years and otherwise am happy with my pans. see less

I grew up on stainless, but for the past decades I've been using non-stick pans. Now with the evidence about non-stick, I asked for new pans for Christmas. I did a lot of research on stainless steel pans and how to treat them. I learned new things in my research. 1- No dishwasher 2- Hot Pan - Cold Oil 3- [...] Just say no to the dishwasher. I used to put the oil into the pan and then heat them up. According to my research that is exactly wrong. Stainless will act non-stick if you heat the pan THEN put in the oil/butter. Foods do have a tendency to stain cookware. [...] is a dry cleaning powder that helps clean the pans to the just-like-new state. I find these pans wonderful and a good buy. Make sure you understand the difference between stainless and non-stick, and how to take care of them, and they will last longer than any non-stick pans you get. see less

Love, Love, Love this cookware!!! This is a great stainless steel cookware set. I was so tired of the peeling teflon, non-stick pans, so upgraded to stainless. This set is great! I cook everyday, usually three times a day, my cookware must be durable and easy to use. I love every piece. From eggs, soups, stir fry, rice, beans, chicken and rice, gravy steak, fudge, peanut brittle, you name it and I cook it - I cook everything you can imagine and everything turns out perfectly. These pans cook everything like an expensive pro set. I especially love the easy clean up. These pans look beautiful, even after every day use. We have an old gas propane stove which is hard to cook anything on low, but that is no problem with these pots and pans. I own several baking stones ranging from expensive ones and this one. I absolute love them all. I bake almost everything on it: pizza, cookies, biscuits, frozen burritos, taquitos, chicken patties, just about anything that won't run! Everything always come out perfect. My husband can't even burn anything when he uses one of our stones. The number one thing you have to remember is NEVER use soap to clean it. The soap will soak into the stone and be hard to get the taste of soap out. I just use a plastic scraper or spatula and hot water to clean it. Also they are supposed to look stained and ugly (that just means it is well seasoned.)The first couple of times you use this make sure to oil it up. You can spray it with PAM or I just worked some olive oil into it. After doing that a couple of times it should be fine and not much will stick to it. see less

[...]I LOVE it so far. I've made all sorts of recipes with various stovetop cooking methods and they've held out so far. I only use plastic or wooden utensils in them and only handwash. The non-stick works great. I accidentally burned a dish and the burnt part came right off. I only have two complaints so far. First, when using the lids, the knobs on the lid will get very hot pretty quickly, so use potholders. Second, when washing, I have to pay extra attention to the rivets where the handle connects because food gets stuck along the edge. But I haven't had any issue where I absolutely can't get the food washed off. It comes with a lifetime warranty for normal wear and tear, but you have to pay shipping, which is pretty good. I've seen that people have had issues with melting, but it seems to be on glasstop ranges, which my instructions don't recommend. see less

These pots remind me of a time and a place in the distant past, when I would sit in the kitchen doing my homework and my mother would be cooking dinner. She used this same style of pot to make her excellent rice and meat dishes. My concern was that the new pots were thinner and had less aluminum then the original, but all it took was some minor adjustments in cooking time and heat. The pots are excellent in that the heat distrubution is even and are quick to cool once taken off the burner. They can also be used in the oven at standard tempuratures. I would not recommend using the lids in the oven as the handles may melt. They are easy to clean and maintain, as well as store. Overall, excellent pots that serve as time travelling devices to my distant past as well as wonderful dishes. Just like mamma. see less

This cooker is a wonderful addition to my cookware. The lid turns over into the cooker for easy storage. The second handle is such a huge help in lifting and pouring and it cooks everything evenly. We absolutely love ours! We pop our corn without any oil or salt in the popper so the power cup will last longer. We use ours several times before replacing, maybe even as many as 20 times! You'll know when the popcorn doesn't cook as fluffy that its time for a new power cup. We pour the popcorn into another bowl to eat and then just wipe out the popper with a paper towel to clean up. After we pour in another bowl we use a tsp or two of canola oil and popcorn salt to flavor it! see less

But every single time I've used it, I've tried 3 times, it has over flowed water everywhere when I try to remove the colander from the base. We originally bought this to make pancakes, but we've ended up using it for so much more. The smooth side is perfect for eggs, bacon, pancakes, and quesadillas. The ridged side is great for burgers and chicken. Only needs a bit of cooking spray, it's easy to clean. The only problem we've experienced is that the coating on the unused side scrapes off easily if it rubs against the burners, we just have to be careful not to slide it around once it's on the stove top. Overall a great product and we use it several times a week. see less

I went shopping for this so i could grill meats: bacon, beef patties, pork belly, etc. Originally i was using a pan/skillet to cook really fatty meats like bacon, but since I would cook a lot at the same time, eventually the pan will start to smoke from the burning in of the saturated fat. My whole apartment would fill up with smoke and my smoke alarm would go off. So I decided to buy some new cookware, aparently this griddle was exactly what i needed. I was considering to buy this or the $10 more, iron casted grilled; note: this is an aluminum casted griddle, but works just as fine as the iron one, cheaper, and lighter to carry. The coating is much more smoother than the iron griddles and works better in cooking, so I dont have anything stuck against the griddle. Also the fatty oils drip down to the side which is perfect. The smoking problem I am no longer having, Cleaning is an absolute charm, it is handwash only, but not a problem, extremely easy to clean without any difficulty. I am very happy that I invested into this cookware and nothing else. I plan to use it for a long time. see less

I had electric griddle, much cheaper, pain in behind to get out and clean,but this griddle is awesome. I pre-heat it over the gas elements, put on bacon, let it cook, then, pancakes french toast or fried eggs. once turn any of them, turn eyes off, walk away, stays hot enough to cook and still not burn. Cleans up easily also. The seasoning is perfect./ I do put quick spray of Pam on first, but that just keeps bacon from sticking. We are having family breakfast 3 to 4 times a week now, before, once every 2 weeks. see less

This pan has very nice locking thick handles for making it easier to lift a 22lb turkey. Extremely durable/solid!! Definitely non-stick so very easy to clean even the rack. Rack slides back'n forth a little assuming it has to leave a little room for getting juices for basting. The price is very reasonable for such a great product. You'll love it! We bought the Oneida rack for roasting a prime rib roast. Our roast was 9.5 lbs. It cooked the roast fine. Upon washing, however, we noticed that everywhere the rack came in contact with the pan there were little holes ground into the Teflon coating. This was the first time we used this pan, we did not even touch the bottom with a utensil and a 10 pound roast is not outrageously heavy. Thus, there is no justification for the weak Teflon coating. For me, having a chipped or scratched Teflon bottom renders the pan useless. I can't roast potatoes, make gravy or anything that would require stirring or scraping. I use non stick carefully, loving it [...] This was a waste of money and I am bringing it back. see less

I bought this pot a couple of months ago and only used it once. I made a German pot roast on a bed of onions with bay leaves, cloves and few pepper corns. Slow-cooked the roast for over 4 hours. Added a small amount of water twice. It was delicious and came apart with a fork.This evening I'll use it for my already great Italian meat sauce. Nice pot and although heavy, It's easy to clean. Care should be used when removing the heavy lid. Hitting the side of the pot with the lid will probably cause the enamel to chip. see less

She used it to cook everything that was cooked in the oven for about 30 years.Even after the rack would not come clean and the piece with the holes went missing the pan was still used. Made a great turkey for about 30 years till Mom finally convinced Dad if he wanted a turkey he would have to splurge for a new pan. I love my mini version. It cooks everything evenly.and clean up is quick and easy. I do not have a dish washer and do not need a lot of strength to clean the pan. A little cooking spray on the bottom helps also or you can line pan with foil for almost no clean up. I hope it last at least half as long as Mom's did and that would be great. see less

I purchased this pan around a year ago at my local store. I am a stay-at-home mom with two children, making do on one income so this pan was an investment for our family. I carefully read the care instructions and even saved them, keeping them in the drawer with the pan so that I could refer to them as necessary. I wanted to take care of this skillet and I can say without a doubt that I did. It wasn't long before everything started to stick to the pan and leave a dull, brown, residue that would not come off. I finally broke down and threw it in the garbage a few days ago, much to my disgust. I cannot remember a product I've been more disappointed in. The non-stick finish did not last even when cooked with and cared for according to the manufacturers exact instructions. Do not throw your money away on this pan. The person probably didn't follow the instructions on how to treat the pan first. Like all pans you should wash and treat them before using. If you follow the instructions the pan works great. My daughter has one and so do I and they really work just how they are suppose to. And like any coated pan you should never use a metal utensil on the pan for it will scratch it. Even your stainless steel sink will scratch if you throw metal utensils in it. Like with anything you must take the time to read the instructions or nothing work the way you expect. This is my first peice of cast iron. I was looking for something to last. Cast iron takes special care because it can rust if left wet, or if you leave food in the pan it can remove the seasoning (esp. tomato!).At first, the pan was a little tricky to cook in. Most things stuck to the bottom like crazy eventhough it's pre seasoned. But what I did was re-season between cookings once and a while and fried a bunch of stuff like bacon, potatos, meats, etc. and I use a metal spatula to scrape off the stuck on food. Don't use a plastic spatula because you could melt it onto the pan. After each use, I scrape clean with metal spatula, or rub with oil and salt with a paper towel. I'll wash it with soap and water only if I cook something with a sauce or if it's really difficult to scape off. Make sure you dry it completely by burning it on the stove for a few minutes. Then, just wipe the pan with olive oil and that's that. I noticed that veggie oil can become too sticky in a few days so I use olive oil.Nothing sticks to the pan now, not even the eggs. I've had this skillet for about 6 months now. I love it. At $19.99 it pays for itself because it will be years and years before you'd need a new one...If well cared for, maybe your grand kids will be using it. see less
