[...]I LOVE it so far. I've made all sorts of recipes with various stovetop cooking methods and they've held out so far. I only use plastic or wooden utensils in them and only handwash. The non-stick works great. I accidentally burned a dish and the burnt part came right off. I only have two complaints so far. First, when using the lids, the knobs on the lid will get very hot pretty quickly, so use potholders. Second, when washing, I have to pay extra attention to the rivets where the handle connects because food gets stuck along the edge. But I haven't had any issue where I absolutely can't get the food washed off. It comes with a lifetime warranty for normal wear and tear, but you have to pay shipping, which is pretty good. I've seen that people have had issues with melting, but it seems to be on glasstop ranges, which my instructions don't recommend. see less

At first they were amazing. Love the color and the fact that when they get a certain temp they start turning brown to tell you the pan is hot. After having them for a few months they starting denting inward. The hanger hooks are falling off. The copper look on the lid handles are all tarnishing. I am very upset. My calphalon kichen essentials needed replacing - after 10 yrs - and I wanted another set that would wear as well. These tfals are heavy weight with great non stick finish. The red handles feel good and insulate nicely, however watch you don't touch the silver part of the lid handles - HOT! They heat evenly and wash up easy. I am confident these will last at least 10 yrs. And they were about 2/3 the cost of the pricier sets. see less

When I got home I was excited to start using this cookware but I ended up very disappointed. The Dutch oven style pot is very small. The largest frying pan isn't large enough. I should have checked the specs of the pots and pans. This cookware set is good if you're single or a couple with no kids, don't cook often, and don't plan to be keeping this cookware for a long time. For me, well I've got a family of 5 and the pots aren't big enough for my family. You get what you pay for with this. see less

This is my second chefmate cookware set, the first being a stainless set I bought a while back. sometimes I do like to use nonstick, so I thought I would buy this since I like the stainless set so well. Again, I am very pleased with the quality for the price. Treat these gently and they should last. They are light weight and heat quickly. the nonstick seems to be pretty good with no flaking or scratching with silicone utensils. The basic pots and pans are included and most have lids. I wont lie--I bought this set because it was among the cheapest at Target. However, I figured since it was sold at Target, I could pretty much assume that it wasn't junk. I've used this set many times now and love the fact that it is so easy to clean. It tells you on the box that while you can put it in the dishwasher, it may shorten the life of the product. I don't use my dishwasher anyway just because it always leaves spots on my dishes, so this is no problem for me. I can't really speak for the durability of this item since I've had it only a couple weeks, but if it only lasts a year, it would be money well spent. see less

I bought this set of pans for my mother as a gift. She doesn't take care of things, and doesn't really cook so this set was perfect for her needs at the low price point. Don't expect a Calphalon or All-Clad set, because it's Chefmate. You get what you pay for, but I think this set is great for the price. I have even used it on the grill before. I will be buying a set for my dorm because I know my roommates will be borrowing it and I may throw it out at the end of the year. That's what it's meant for. I had no problems with the set, just wash it as soon as it's cool enough to touch to prevent staining. see less

I bought this because I am wanting to switch to stainless steel cookware for health/technique reasons. I bought this to tide me over until I could buy a more expensive brand. Now I am thinking I am satisfied enough with Chefmate to forgo the expensive set. Prior to using the set, I read up on stainless steel and watched some Youtube videos on cooking, cleanup etc. You do have to cook with and treat it different from nonstick. I followed the techniques suggested for braising salmon and cleaning up aftwards. I had a great first meal!! I also fried an egg, chicken and steak the first few days with no mess or problems at all. Clean up is easy if you follow the correct instructions. Stainless will burn and stick badly if you do not use correct technique.The stainless on this set is somewhat thin when compared to other more expensive brands I have been handling and looking at in the stores. If you press in on the sides ou will feel a slight give. This just means it will heat faster than a thicker walled pan. There is a nice thick encapsulated bottom on the pan that seems to conduct heat evenly. I cooked on low medium heat and did not have a problem with burning, sticking etc. I also preheated and greased as recommended on the videos I watched. The thin pans do heat quickly--definitely use low to mid medium heat. The all metal handles are hollow and do not seem to get hot like one would think, although I am sure that with prolonged cooking they might--be careful. The lids are tempered see-through glass which I really like. They seem to fit well on the cookware. There is a very nice variety of pans in the set--perfect for my needs. I could not find any oven temperature recommendations and will try that at 350 to 375 degrees to be safe. I believe that is the rough equivalent of low to medium burner heat.All in all, for the price, you cannot beat this set. Do your homework, treat it well, follow standard stainless steel cooking and cleanup, and you won't need anything else. see less
