I can't say enough about this set....I absolutely love this cookware. It's a good starter set for a wedding or any other gift. Once you start cooking with cast iron you will want to add more pans. I made my husband some home-fried potatoes and the crispness of the potatoes and the caramelizing of the onions done in the cast iron is much better than anodized aluminum pans. He even asked what I did different because they were so delicious. It was the cast iron skillet that did the trick.
Also: I used this on a ceramic glass top stove with no problems. The Lodge pans are designed to be used on any cook top. The older bans from decades ago have a ridge on the bottom that would not work on ceramic. Good job Lodge!
The price is great @ Target, shipping and packaging was excellent and timely.
Note: These are made of iron...they are not light weight aluminum. If you have bad/weak wrists, elbows or even shoulder for that matter, this may not be for you. My grandmother always used cast iron and she had the HUGE skillet which she could carry with one hand. Now I know how she stayed so strong and lived to 99.5 years old!
If you are thinking of going with cast iron, try this brand/set. I don't think you will be disappointed. Plus, Target's return policy is a bonus!
