Unlike many other reviewers, I did not receive these as a gift, I had to fork out my own cash to get them. I did do some research before purchasing. Great set for under [$]. Full tang, triple rivited. Having 8 steak knives is a plus. Block has extra slots to add more knives. My knives slice through a sheet of paper without any difficulty. These knives are weighted well and feel great in my hand. I gave four stars for quality because they are made in [...]. I hope this review helps you in your knive shopping experience. see less

My husband and I registered for the item for our wedding, although we didn't get it we used our registry close out coupon for it and are so glad we did. The set includes all the knives we need and the block even has some extra slots to include some other knives we had/purchased to add it it (i.e. a bread knife, a cheese knife that came with a different gift). The knives are sturdy and cut cleanly and smoothly through anything we've used them for. I liked that it included scissors, a sharpener, and 2 more steak knives than we noticed with other sets. A definite worthwhile buy! see less

I just recently received the Calphalon 16pc Cutlery set as a gift and I really like how the set looks on my countertop. The knives are all very sharp and cut well. They fit well in any size hand.I would definitely recommend this item to others or even purchase this as a gift! see less

My wife and I like to cook a lot, and rarely eat out, and we wanted to get a decent knife set in our wedding registry, and luckily my brother picked it up for us. We've been very pleased with this set, over 2 years later. One complaint is that it gets rust build up if left in the sink over night, or if the steak knives are put through the dishwasher, so we only hand wash all of them now. The knives have held their edge very well through the years, and I've only needed to use to steel on the two we use the most, the chef's knife and the small santoku knife. It would have been nice if they had included a bread knife in the set, but there were two extra slots in the block that we were able to round our set off with. For the price, you probably won't find a better set of knives. Treat them well, and they'll last a long time. see less

My husband bought these for me as a mothers day gift last year, and they are wonderful knives. I have had other nice sets, but this set I believe is the best yet. They are still as shap today as when we first bought them. I would NOT reccomend putting them in the dishwasher though, because it will dull your knives. It says it it your instruction care content, but one was put in there by accident, and is duller than the others. (Not by much, but there is a slight difference. Its still sharp.) I highly recommend them! see less

I first bought this block set a year and a half ago, since that time I have been rounding out the rest of the set.I liked these knives so much that I had to have the rest of the set.I have other, more expensive Henckels knives, but these honestly perform much better. After looking at knives for some, we purchased this 14pc JA Henckels Forged Premio knife set and are very pleased. The knives are heavy and well balanced. They also have a good edge and seem to hold up well. We added the 8" bread knife and carving fork and have pretty much all we need. Very satisfied. see less

We got this knife set for a wedding gift and we couldn't be happier with the quality! They are each forged from 1 piece of metal, so they don't bend, cut nicely and look fantastic. They have a good weight to them and the handles are smooth and rich feeling. There is only thing I don't know what to do about, it is just that there are 3 open slots and I would like to fill them but I cant figure out which knives we need. Once I do that it will be such a perfect set! see less
