I love this thing! I had wanted a pretty le-creuset dutch oven, but couldn't afford one. I recently started baking my own no-knead bread and the recipe calls for a dutch oven, so i borrowed this one from a friend. It's great! It is pretty dang heavy, but it makes the most perfect bread! My husband is going right now to get one of our own. I haven't tried anything other than bread, but I'm excited to try chili's and soups in this thing! see less

I had wanted one of the cute enameled ones, but received this as a gift from my grandmother as a wedding present. Her philosophy was that the enameled ones may look good, but they will eventually chip, so why bother? Anyways, turns out that I do just love this one. Makes lovely loaves of bread, pots of soup, just everything. see less

[...] This dutch oven is magnificent, and such an amazing value for the money. It hasn't scratched, chipped and I'm not overly cautious washing it. It is very heavy, but I am sure this is why it has been so durable and successful in evenly distributing heat in the oven and on the stove-top. Highly recommend! see less

I LOVE this dutch oven. I never thought I would use it as much as I have. It is a great size and for the price you can't go wrong. It is heavy but not too heavy that you won't want to use it. It cooks everything evenly and completely. Clean up is also a breeze. Great product!! see less

I bought this pot a couple of months ago and only used it once. I made a German pot roast on a bed of onions with bay leaves, cloves and few pepper corns. Slow-cooked the roast for over 4 hours. Added a small amount of water twice. It was delicious and came apart with a fork.This evening I'll use it for my already great Italian meat sauce. Nice pot and although heavy, It's easy to clean. Care should be used when removing the heavy lid. Hitting the side of the pot with the lid will probably cause the enamel to chip. see less

Although I only used it twice, there are two chips. One on the cover and one on the rim of the pot. Very disappointing as I carefully handwashed and this is the result. Am thinking of returning it for a new one. I bought it online a while back but just recently used it. Am wondering if I can return for a new one. see less

After much research, I purchased several Lodge cast iron pieces of cookware from Target.com (Made in USA). Nice selection and great value. They work wonderfully on my glass cooktop! The food does not stick and produces a very healthy cooking surface for all my recipes. There is no teflon to wear off and get in the food. This cookware is sure to last outlast my grandchildren. Did you know that if you are iron deficient and by cooking in cast iron, you will get more iron content in your foods? This cookware is awesome!! see less

Our house burned to the ground the end of January leaving only our large cast-iron pot. For our new house I decided to order another slightly smaller one. Not only do they last forever, cost a lot less than the modern varieties, but no soup or stew looks better than when in a cast-iron pot. I bought this as a birthday gift for my dad. Best thing I ever bought for him...He LOVES it! Spring, summer, fall and winter; doesn't matter as long as it's not too windy, he cooks with this over the fire pit. Chili beans, roast, even bacon and eggs! And once you've re-seasoned it enough times, it becomes second nature and cleaning is a snap. see less

Bought this about 6 months ago in purple. The color is really more glazed eggplant - it's very beautiful and I am not big on purple in general. I use the pot at least once a week. I can see some of the enamel starting to scratch up even if I only use the soft side of the sponge to clean it. My grandma had all enamel-coated pans and she would get them re-enameled every year or two. I was hoping the technology would have advanced a bit by now. Otherwise the cast iron is thick and the pot retains heat superbly. 10 hrs later the food is still warm inside. The lid fits very tightly and absolutely no heat escapes. see less

I have wanted one of these for a long time, but, the price tag was always an obstacle. Le Cruset will set you back approx [$] I used this for an Asian braised pork recipe and it performed beautifully! The clean up was a breeze. No scrubbing. I even called Oster with a question about wooden utencils vs. plastic and they actually called me right back! You must dry it immediately and never allow to air dry. The purple is a pretty aubergine dusty lavender with the edges of the pot left raw and unpainted to avoid chipping. I used my Target redcard and saved an additional 5 percent plus got free shipping and saved[$] If you want one of these, don't wait. see less
