We just bought this pool today, so I can't attest to how it will hold up over time, but I wanted to review the size and set up.
This pool is pretty big. The sides are high - high enough that I chose not to fully inflate the top ring so that my almost 3 year old can climb in and out more easily. The pool states ages 6 and up. There is plenty of room for my 2 kids, plus my husband and I if we wanted to sit or splash around. The diameter is nice and wide, and you can fill it as deep or shallow as you like. There is a drain plug, which you need because the pool is too large to be able to lift and pour the water out. I would recommend using foam pads/squares under the pool because the vinyl bottom is very slippery and a fall could be dangerous if the pool is on a hard surface.
Set up - this pool REQUIRES a pump to inflate. We used our small air compressor with the needle attachment. Using that attachment, we were able to fully insert the air 'head' and the pool was inflated in about 20 minutes. The air valves are large - not the kind you can blow up by mouth. A foot or hand pump would take a VERY long time - we started that way and made almost no progress.
Although set up was a little bit of a pain, overall this pool seems very nice! My kids really had fun playing, and had enough room to avoid knocking into each other. They stayed in the pool rather than climbing in and out like they've done with other pools in the past. As long is it lasts all summer, I will be very pleased!

plug is hard to pull out and ripped after 3 time used
I was so excited to find a pool with a plug to drain after 3 years of not being able to find one. This pools plug was impossible to unplug when we were trying to drain. I had to get pliers to grip the tab and I had to pull so hard that it ripped the entire thing out. I would recommend trying to put your foot on the side and drain it out as much as possible first and maybe that will help.
Just purchased this pool for summer house in Jacksonville NC and loved it so much we purchased another or our home in Blacksburg VA. very easy to set up. easy to take down and store. Very low maintenance. Good quality! [...] Cant say enough GOOD about this pool! Loving it!!!
I've had this Intex pool for 4 years, and it just keeps on giving.Previous to the Intex I had another named brand...not at all is as sturdy as Intex.I hope they do not stop making this size as the smaller diameter is only 30 in depth. I take the filter cartridge out weekly and rinse, they last longer and keep the pool cleaner, and I also have a skimmer and cover, which keeps the bugs out.Great item Target & Intex!!!!!
I can't rave enough about this pool! My only regret is that I didn't buy the bigger one (15 x 42). I was a little bit hesitant to buy it...I didn't have a clue how to take care of a pool...but once you set it up and use it, the time it takes to care for it is WELL worth it. I did buy the starter chemical kit, which I highly recommend, and extra filters, and the pool net cleaner (we used part of our winter roof rake pole as a handle for the net saving some money). Also, I recently bought the floating feeder for the chlorine which is awesome...I should have bought it right away since chlorine can't just be thrown into the pool whole. You do have to change the filters at least every 2 weeks...and you can clean them half way through that time for better filtering. I know it sounds like I bought a lot of extras, but it was worth it (it all cost about $$$ extra dollars). I used to hate summer because it was too hot to be in the backyard~~ now I welcome horrible hot humid Minnesota summer days! We LOVE our Intex pool!!!
