The lamp is sturdy, but the finish is not brass. It is more on an oil rubbed bronze finish. It was fairly easy to put together...just follow directions to screw the parts together. It does include the lamp shade. see less

I just purchased this floor lamp for my daughter's recently re-painted room. I put it together last night in no time at all and it looks great. Nice quality. I wish we could have chosen the color of the lampshade, pink and white checked, but luckily for us it works with the colors in her room. I had searched all over for a white floor lamp and was pleased to get this on sale, with tax and shipping, less than [$]. I just happened upon these lamps and I have to say that they are fantastic. JUST what I was looking for. And the price is excellent. I saw much more expensive lamps of the same style that didn't do what these do. They were easy to assemble and the glow from the shade is wonderful, picks up all the colors of my decor. Even after reading the other review, I wasn't sure how much I'd like this lamp? I love this lamp! In fact, I like it so much, I'm considering buying another one. It is worth the money and actually looks like I spent more money than I did. My bedroom furniture is more modern, straight lines, etc. and this goes perfectly with the decor. The bottom base is darker than it appears in the picture, which actually is better in my opinion. It looks richer than the picture. It is slightly larger than expected, which is also better for me. I wasn't sure how the quality of the shade would be...it is again better than expected! It is a linen color and heavier than those rice paper lamps, which looks more quality-made in my opinion. VERY HAPPY with this purchase! see less

They tell you to screw on the shade screw as the last step to putting it together and I don't have one. So basically my shade is just sitting where the lightbulb is. I ordered two of these lamps for my bedroom to go on either side of my bed and I absolutely love them! They have a high-quality, high-end, retro appeal that can easily fit into a contemporary or a traditional setting. What you see is what you get - the picture does give an accurate depiction of the product. The wood is a rich, dark walnut and the base has a contemporary brushed nickel appearance. The shade is a sand color with a nice weave texture. This lamp is tall and the shade is rather large so please condiser the scale of your space when making this purchase. This is no wimpy floor lamp that you can just put anywhere. It commands attention and it requires ample space. The assembly was simple - I did not refer to the instructions once. The hardest part was getting the lamp out of the packaging as it was meticulously packed. The shade does come in halves so be prepared to assemble it. You will be very pleased with your purchase and you will be the envy of all your friends. Enjoy! see less

Table is pretty solid, I can't determine if the table top is solid wood or not, but the legs and middle shelf do seem like they are. It does include a CFL bulb which is tiny, about 15w, about 30w with a conventional bulb. But the lamp secures to the table very well and looks very good for the price. The directions were just a picture, there were no steps, they make Ikea directions look like a short novel. But that being said, it is a table with a lamp, you shouldn't need too much direction. Over all I would buy it again, I would just be prepared to buy a higher wattage bulb. see less

I was very pleased with the floor lamp. Fits in great with our oversized reading chair. The lamp shade is referred to as "platinum"...but I'd call it more of a grey sheen. It's cool looking. The chrome stand seems very sturdy and thick...and very art deco. You won't notice the sheen when the light is turned on. For the price and the style...it's a great deal. see less

There are several choices for 3/4 height floor lamps on this site. I chose a more expensive lamp largely because the product info stated that the lamp could handle a 150 watt bulb--that's a really powerful lamp. The lamp is here and looks nice but inside the shade is a sticker which clearly indicates that 60 watts is the largest bulb it can accommodate. Disappointed that Target can't get basic product info right. see less

We recently ordered this floor lamp and it is really nice, very sleek and it looks great in our living room. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that online I think it looks more "substantial" than it really is. It's a decent size but it is quite small compared to what I had envisioned - luckily our living room isn't huge to begin with. But in a large area this piece could disappear. So, I do wish it was more substantial and a bit sturdier - it doesn't seem like its going to fall apart but it's not as substantial as I would've liked. But, the look the price and the quality are worth it to me. We like this lamp alot. see less
