For the price, this stool was hands down a pleasant surprise. It actually works, is not wobbly, fairly comfortable and style is ok on the eyes. Of course, if you look closely you will see that its no an expensive piece- vinyl will never look like leather, the chrome is cheesy i.e. its not real chrome, etc. but I could not ask for more. It works well, and perfect for the price. It was also available at the stores which gave me more confidence being able to try it out in person. I can recommend. see less

Dresser looks very nice, but it is a beast! Spent a fair amount of money for the chest of drawers and night stand only to find out what a total waste this was. Assembly is beyond a nightmare. Instructions are NOT clear and even have to use horrible quality wood glue. Total mess! drawers DO NOT close!!!! I have taken apart and re assembled and even had my husband give it a try. The drawers are suppose to click into place, but instead jam up. My daughter can not close the drawers all the way or we can not open back up. Same with nightstand. [...]. This piece is 1-2 shades darker than shown, a true "espresso". I am using it for my 50" and it fits just right. The assembly was fairly straight forward, except as stated in a prior review that a few of the predrilled holes were not large enough for the packaged screws, but after opening them up a bit with a screw driver it went smoothly. Purchased this for a projection tv that weighs about 60 lbs. Ours is not wobbly at all with the legs on as some other reviews have said. I was afraid this was going to look too 70's based on the picture, but it actually looks a lot better in person. It's a lot darker than the picture and looks more modern. You could easily leave the doors off to have all 6 shelves exposed, or add knobs to them. I was afraid the quality would be poor based on price, but this is an awesome product! see less

I love this book case! It is sturdy and sleek looking and I have already received so many compliments on it and people asking me where I got it. I was able to put it together by myself in probably about 30-45 minutes. The instructions are easy and there's not a whole lot too it. The only downfall is that I wish it was real wood instead of particle board or at least painted instead of a laminate finish. But unless your up close inspecting it you can't really tell! see less

This is a nice, small desk. We were looking for a small desk to put in the office area of our retail business. The dimensions seemed good. It arrived as indicated when the order was placed and it was pretty easy to put together, did it myself (female) in approx 2-3 hours. The color is pretty and the design is simple, the drawers move nicely in/out, no hang ups or sticking. However, it is too small of a desk for us to use as we need and ended up buying a larger desk. The space between the cubbies on the left and the drawers on the right is too small to push in a desk chair on wheels w/ armrests. The space is only about 20 inches wide. A regular 4-legged chair with no armrests slides in fine. Now the desk is at our house, fit right in the back of my 4Runner. It is a heavy desk for its size and we were concerned about its stability when moving it. There is no support down low between the two sides and it kind of felt like if we weren't careful, the top could snap. Overall this is a great desk for the price but didn't work for our purpose. If I knew it was going to end up in our house, I would have bought a wood desk vs. laminate but it is a nicely constructed and good looking laminate. It doesn't look cheap or seem like it will peel. see less

Installation is easy, so long as you throw out the hard plastic wall anchors that come with the shelves. Go buy some soft rubber anchors that fit the screws. These type of anchors require a much smaller hole and you just tap them in with a hammer. They will hold a good amount of weight. see less

You can buy almost identical units at other stores, but not for the same price. This really is the best buy. Very sturdy. The feet unscrew to change levels so you may balance the units on uneven flooring. Easy to assemble and take apart if moving. All you need is a rubber mallet to disassemble. Shelves can be placed at any level, great for customizing shelves for different size boxes. They hold a lot of weight. I have had these 2 years in the garage/studio. No chipping or rusting. My large plastic storage bins fit easily. It's sturdy, and you can customize the height of each shelf. The only drawback, as mentioned by another reviewer, is that the plastic clips break easily. I broke one, but fortunately an extra was included in the box. No doubt this is a common problem. Just be careful with those clips during assembly! see less

I visited this review page and figured out what I was doing wrong -- the written instructions could be more detailed, drawing was correct, though. The bar stool is very sturdy and the cushioned top is comfortable. A couple of weeks I returned to Target to purchase another stool. This time the manufacturer changed the leg construction and the instruction guide. It's easier to put together and is just as strong. I have not found the same problems as the other reviewer (maybe the knob holding the back of the chair to the base wasn't tight enough?) The chair is very comfortable and even has good lumbar support. It's a great chair for a petite (5'4") woman, but I'm not sure a really tall person would like it since the back is not adjustable. One suggestion for putting it together: the casters are easier to install by placing the base of a hammer between the wheels and pushing down on the top of the hammer, which actually fits pretty nicely into the curve of one's palm. see less

About the exposed particle board it is actually really useful if you want things like pots on the top. I dabble in pottery and use the top of mine as a catch all for pottery and it doesnt wobble one bit. I am buying two more this weekend for my den/new baby nursery and will probably get my hubby and father in law to secure them to the wall just so they will be a bit safer since they are in more kid prone areas of the house. see less

It will hold books from top to bottom when assembled correctly It MUST BE PLACED ON A FLAT FOR OR, YES, IT WILL LEAN Certain shelves are unfinished - the top, which you won't see - I'm 6'4 and can't see, and the bottoms of the lower shelves. It took the both of us combined about 20 minutes to put together and the six directions were easy to follow. We needed storage for a lot of books at an affordable price, and this bookshelf worked out great for us. We have 4 of these now, and have had no real problems with stability, flimsiness, etc. that others have complained about. We have books on every shelf, but we made sure to put the heavier books on the bottom shelf and middle support shelf, and we filled the rest with the lighter paperbacks. We also secured the bookshelves to the wall to prevent toppling, as suggested in the instructions. Our pieces came labeled, but even if they didn't - it's a bookshelf and was easy enough to put together for anyone who has ever built a piece of furniture. Sure, the back is cardboard-ish and it's constructed of particle board, but that's why it's priced the way it is. If you're expecting a solid wood or fancy display piece, this isn't it - but if you're looking for a simple bookshelf, it works great! see less

I was looking for an inexpensive desk setup for an awkward space in my home and came across this! In addition to this unit I bought the matching "Storage Desk". The dark espresso color is beautiful, and the brushed metal optional hardware (included) really sets the desk off. Set up was a snap (about 1.25 hours being slow and careful)! The instructions were easier and clearer to understand [...]. The second page of the instructions clearly states this is a Sauder product (a leader in particle board furniture) and comes with a limited 3 year warranty. All the big pieces are labeled (some have letters printed on the unfinished edge of the particle board so you don't have a million stickers to peel off.Of course the backing is cardboard (what would you expect for [this price]?!) and the advantage is that there are three circular punch-out sections... two in the large storage area, one in the small open shelf above the drawers. This is fantastic because I have some of my computer peripherals (subwoofer, router, cable modem, backup hard drive) neatly tucked away toward the rear and all of the cords can be organized out the back.Disclaimer: I am very satisfied, but you get what you pay for. When I used "Beautiful" and "Sturdy" above, it is relative to the price point and material. I could have paid $300 at an office store for something that looked higher end or $1000 for sturdy real wood furniture. This was [a great price]. -- Great product, Target! see less

Even though it's fake wood, this storage unit looks pretty good. It's very heavy and solid, except for the back which is cardboard (like most cheap furniture). The assembly instructions were much better written than other build-it-yourself furniture I've bought at Target. Regular (not legal) hanging files with tabs on top fit great. Drawers have metal sliders with wheels so they open and shut smoothly. A good buy overall! see less

I'm a college student and I was looking for a chair to go with my desk. I wanted one that is is comfortable even after sitting in it for a couple of hours. Surprisingly, this chair was more comfortable than one I had sat in that had cushions on it at Target. Plus I needed it to be under 50, which I thought this chair was still a little expensive for how basic it is but it's worth it. Also, the chair is very sturdy and works well on carpet. And I'm writing this review after doing a 2 hour homework assignment and it is still comfortable! But it's time to get up and do something else. I would recommend that you buy this chair if you are looking for something simple, comfortable for long hours, and stylish to go with a dark wood decor. see less

It didn't match but recently I refurbished our table and stained it an espresso color and now they match perfectly. Design-wise, this reminds me of modern-retro. I have a small stool from the Mid-Century era of design that also has lines very similar to this. It's very simple, in essence, but the way it's actually designed makes it functional art. It's very comfortable. It's lightweight and it's lines make it airy and elegant. It will certainly work really well in a modern style home. I have one at an old gray formica table with chrome legs and it almost looks like it was made to go with it, it's a really attractive combination. {}{}I think it would be more worth it -the paint won't last long and I know it will require repainting at some point. Like other reviewers said, it does appear black. The only time I found that it looked brownish was when it was outdoors in the sun. see less

I have three of these. I bought the first one when I moved into my last apartment 3 years ago, then got two more when I bought my house last summer. They're as no-frills as it gets, but they were very easy to put together. The parts were clearly marked with stickers, and it took maybe 30 minutes for me to assemble the last two by myself. Would I buy wouldn't buy one to hold a collection of college engineering textbooks or recommend them to people with small children who like to climb on shelves? Definitely not, They aren't designed for heavy use, nor do they pretend to be, and the weight limits for the shelves are clearly laid out in the instructions. But for my purposes -- as overflow storage for smaller paperbacks and a place for various household items that won't fit elsewhere -- they're great. I don't see any reason why I couldn't get another 10 years out of them, and even though I could afford to replace them if I wanted to, I probably won't for quite some time. see less

It's easy to put together and looks nice. Two of the shelf pieces have holes and two don't. The two with holes are the top and bottom. The back piece is flimsy, but again...the price. This took me about 20 minutes to put together by myself working at a very leisurely pace. Get a friend and you'll halve your time. Two of your shelf panels are pre-drilled and two aren't. Take note of the ones that are or you'll find yourself here writing a bad review. Not too thrilled about the back piece - it's not even quite veneer, just a trifolded piece of cardboard with the same wood pattern printed on the front. Still, if it's assembled well, or filled with books, you'll not notice when it's assembled. Anchor with masking tape before tacking on for an easier time. In any case, an attractive, compact, cheap solution to storage. I have mine in my dorm room, and it holds my cooking supplies, textbooks, notebooks, and food, turning about two square feet of space into eight. It's great. see less

Received the chair in a reasonable timeframe. I bought it as a gift for my boyfriend so I put it together which was very simple, it took me 10-15 minutes and an allen wrench (provided). I am 5'-5" and my boyfriend is 6'-3" and we both find the chair to be supportive and comfortable which is great because we both also suffer from back issues. I got this to use as a little buffet for Thanksgiving, and it became my 'everything' table. It can be set to three different heights. The tallest is exactly as tall as kitchen counters, the middle height is perfect for sitting and the lowest makes it the perfect for little ones. It folds in half for storage, is easy to store and light enough for me to handle alone. Once set up it is sturdy an very stable. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and have had all the counters and cabinets removed. It's very cute and the cushion is generously padded as the description Target gives you states. One thing the information doesn't say that I think is important...the zebra print is brown and neutral, NOT black and white. I could see people buying this online and expecting a traditional zebra print and being surprised, so be aware of this! These racks are just really top notch! I bought a couple of different sizes yesterday on sale for storage in the closet under my stairs. One was too big even though I measured, but I had grabbed the wrong one. That's ok! My husband loved it so much he kept it for the garage and we went back for another one of that size when we went to replace it today. We bought the caster wheels for all but one of them and it makes them so easy to move around. They are sturdy, super easy to assemble, and even without the caster wheels are still easy to move. I don't want to put everything in seperate baskets or bins and the shelves are wire, so I will probably put some of the heavy drawer liner on them so I don't have issues with some of the items I want to store on it, but other than that I really have no complaints. The item is useful. The directions are bad. Watch for the line inside the part. Place the line on the part so that it will fit the line on the bar. The parts have a wide part, and a narrow part which is barely visible. The shelve has a wide hole, and the bottom of that hole is narrow. Place the narrow part of the sleeve into the wide part of the shelf otherwise the shelf will slip. The chrome system was milled badly, and had to be returned for the black item which was simple to put together once the line fitted into the groove, and the narrow part slipped through the wide part on the shelf. I bought two of these white bookcases to put in my toddlers closet as a closet organizer for her toys. I realized that a toy box was useless if she couldn't see her toys and she tends to pull EVERYTHING out just to find one toy. This was a cheaper alternative to doing a custom closet and drilling into the wall to build shelves. They have adjustable shelves and the quality is suitable for a kids / teen room if you have all white furniture. It looks great and the shelves seem to hold up ok. It is MDF board, so it's not wood, but for the price, it is appropriate. Great to add decals that kids love to stick and remove everywhere. I also purchased some cubicle organizers too since she has such a large/long closet. It does help with keeping the room cleaner and if all else fails, at least she can toss everything in the closet and close the door to pass "room inspection". So far, so good. If it lasts a few years, it was worth the purchase. see less

We assembled with finished side face down so we did not have to turn the bookcase to put on the back side. My husband assembled it in a very short time but he is a mechanic and great w/ tools.If it had been me I would have taken days but I am not good at comprehending directions.it It looks nice,it's very sturdy. I have not had a single problem. Sure the wood is cheap but if u aren't planning on jumping on it I'm sure it's fine. I am 120 lbs. n have stood on it and it didn't break.not a problem and I have owned it almost 4 months now. My cat pretends it's her junglejim and still I have not had a problem. The keyboard pullout well no problems and it has more than enough space for an average keyboard with plenty room to space. I wouldn't put a lot of weight on that sometimes if I lean on it to hard it seems a tad weak but I still don't think that makes it a problem. Keyboard tray is adequate for keyboard and mouse. Sometimes keyboard tray misaligns, as other commenters have noted, but is easily reset. // This is a reasonably serviceable piece of furniture, if you do not demand more than it can give. You can't do handstands on the keyboard tray. Dragging it around constantly will loosen its joints, so it is not really a cart. Its style is not glamorous, but also not offensive. We purchased this entertainment center a year ago when we moved into our new house. Being all young, 20-somethings, we preferred a low cost solution. Not only does this little piece of furniture look sleek, it offers ample storage space for media accessories. We had a 40 inch LCD TV along with 2 speakers on top, an xbox and playstation on the middle shelf, and games stacked on the bottom. The build feels very durable and the assembly was a breeze at about 20 minutes or so. After one year I have no complaints. It's durable, has ample storage space, and is easy to move with the wheels. You won't write pages about the looks and design, but we all know that isn't why you're here. Considering the value for this entertainment center, I would definitely recommend it. This TV stand is perfect for our small apartment. It was fairly easy to put together and looks great with its sleek black wood. The wheels are a nice touch as they make it easy to move the TV stand if we need to get behind it. It's a good size to fit our video game systems - for wii fans, there's just enough space on the shelf for a wii to fit standing up as long as you don't plug in the game cube controllers. If you need them you could always turn the wii on its side. Overall, I'm really pleased. see less

These are basically a three shelf bookcase with a top extension piece added on. I bought a five shelf bookcase under the sauder label from Target a few years ago and the sides were all one piece, with the break in the sides on the newer one it is definitely less attractive and will be put in a corner. A separate observation is that the assembly instructions for the RE pieces-I also have a kitchen piece with wheels and butcher-block top, I can't remember what it was called-are really lacking in information that would help to put the pieces together correctly. I have put pieces together incorrectly because there are things lacking from the illustrations that would be helpful with orientation and the written instructions are so lacking it's very frustrating. I reccomend looking ahead in the books to the next few steps sometimes that helps, [...] see less

I needed 4 or 5 bookshelves and didn't want to spend half a thousand bucks, and these were cheap, easy enough to put together, and look decent. You get what you pay for; these are low low end on the laminate furniture scale; one box I got had half the pieces labeled, the other had none labeled, and although the directions are clear, because they don't finish the edges or tops of several of the pieces, I ended up with the unfinished sides showing. You really have to concentrate when you're putting these together! I'm glad I opened the labeled box first; it made it way easier.They are half-and-half bookshelves, the long sides are in 2 pieces, which IMO looks pretty darn cheap and makes them less sturdy.I also plan on fixing these to the wall, don't want them falling over; luckily, they come with brackets for that purpose.Also if you are chemical sensitive, don't order these; I felt like I had to wash my hands after I put these together, like they were oily. They made my bedroom smell all day while they off-gassed. And yet, I'm about to order a couple more, because I am happy enough with them, especially for the price. see less

I'm not sure what went wrong with the other reviewers, but these units are great, easy to assemble, and capable of holding 70 lbs PER shelf! If you over think and not trust the plastic clips to work, then you will have a hard time, but all you have to do is follow the directions. It's that simple! I bought two of these units to use as bookcases-and I have A LOT of books, including magazines, which are heavy. I liked the first two so much, I went back and got a third to get even more organized-my printer and files, etc. I am now purchasing two more to organize my clothes. I highly recommend. I am not sure about weight limit per shelf, but it says total weigh max is 350lbs on the box. It is very sturdy if assembled correctly and has adjustable feet on the bottom to make sure it is level. I fit 2 small totes per shelf on 3 of the shelves of this rack. I am about to order another one of these because I like it so much and my store is out of stock.
