I have 3C low porosity hair. My hair is very fine and frizz is always an issue! I love this product! Smell is a huge factor for me because I'm sensitive to overpowering smells. This product does not have an overpowering smell. Keeps frizz in check and keeps my curls looking lovey. After I co-wash I use this as my styler with nothing else. I think I am in trouble. I was in desperate need of a leave in conditioner last night on the way home and I did not want to go far to buy what I normally use. I stopped at my local beauty supply store and picked this up. OMG I am in love with this product after one use and I will continue to buy this as long as they make it. The smell is very pleasant not over powering with lots of fruity fragrances. The consistency is not too thick or loose, it is just right. I have very thick hair, little to no curl definition, kinky or whatever you call it. The directions states for this hair type apply a generous amount, but I focused mainly on my ends and did not use much. This product untangled those knots with ease. I love it and I can't wait to use it on my daughter's hair which is thicker than my hair. I have used a lot of detanglers and I think I finally found what works for me. see less

With my daughter's insistence, I finally starting using the Shea Moisture products. I starting using the Yucca Baobab line first, and after one week, I noticed the difference in my hair. I have been using this for at least 4 months. I am transitioning from permed to natural. It has been very frustrating and I've become a product junky! I have spent far more TIME and MONEY on my hair and on products than ever before. However, I LOVE THIS! it smells so good. It also leaves my hair feeling very soft and manageable. I also use the deep treatment masque as a deep conditioner. Once I wash that off, I use this product and a leave in. I love this product! I'm looking at the entire SheaMoisture product line because I love this product so much. I purchased the Restorative Conditioner some time ago and then forgot about it. In Jan. 2013, I decided to transition from permed hair to natural hair. So I did some reading and the ingredients in the Restorative Conditioner caught my attention. I used the Restorative Conditioner as a leave in daily moisturizer at night. I sectioned my hair and applied a small amount from roots to tips. My hair was immediately moisturized and easier to manage. I braided my hair and used soft curlers on the ends. The results were beautiful! My hair has shine and it's moisturized and it looks that way. I have noticed no breakage although I am told my permed hair will start breaking. I have been using this product for a month now and I am interested to try other SheaMoisture products. In the meantime, I am loving my shiny textured hair more than I thought I would. see less

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this conditioner. I have been natural for about a year and my hair is really curly and can sometimes be very dry and hard to manage but after i applied this, i saw an instant change. My hair was softer, looked healthier, fuller and smelled great and the best part was the next morning my hair was still soft and manageable and not dry. I have 4c texture hair, and I've spent "goo gobs" of money trying to find the right product for my dry hair and scalp, well "bingo", shea moisture is IT. It's been a year now since I've discovered Miss Jessie's. I have to say, after some trial and error with some of their other products I now realize the efficacy of Miss Jessie's products really does rely upon the type of curl you have. I never gave an ounce of thought as to what type of curl I have. I have however, recently learned I have a type 3a/b curl. My haircut is very short. I wash, I condition, apply a leave in conditioner/gel and I'm out of the door. Pillow soft curls is by far the BEST leave in conditioner I've ever tried. It smells wonderful - think, clean, clothesline fresh - that scent you have when you immediately step out of the shower. It makes my hair incredibly soft and really does define my curls beautifully. Sheer curiosity though, if the Miss Jessie's line is solely for ANY type of curly hair, why is it placed in the ethnic aisle of Target? see less

I am natural and have been on a hunt for something to help me win the war against my frizzy thick hair, and I have found it. This product smooths my hair-reducing my frizz tremendously-and gives it a soft and moisturizing feel. As soon as I smoothed it on-for my overnight deep condition-my curls started popping to life and shrinking like if I was doing a wash n go with gel. I recently discovered Shea moisture products. I have tried several Shea Moisture products, but the thickening moisture mist is one of my favorite. I do not have thin/fine hair, I have natural 4b/c hair, but the mist really makes my hair so soft and it really smell so good. Because coconut oil is my oil of choice, the Shea Moisture scent compliments the coconut oil. I does not make my locks stiff, but it does give them a light sheen. This stuff is great!! I'm as fair as you can be, and not mixed at all but this product works wooooonders for me, My hair is BIG,FRIZZY and CURLY. But this product makes it only the last. I agree with another review, it's best to only use after you shower as it will make your hair greasy if you build it up. It also works miracles to put liberal amounts in if you're planning to straighten the [heck] out of your hair (which I occasionally do.) But 99% of the time I'm wearing my hair natural! I put a quarter sized amount in (added with a teensy bit of frizz serum) and I get those big, nicely defined curls I always wanted. I have 3c curls but I got some SERIOUS body in my hair and lots of damage and this is the only product I've used that works-that works WELL. I gave it a try because it was buy-one-get-one and because the quote, "including white gals too!", on the bottle. I was desparate to find something that would keep the frizz from my shoulder-length, curly hair-something that would not dry crunchy but soft. THIS IS THE PRODUCT I WAS WAITING FOR! I apply about 1 T. to wet-not damp-hair, diffuse upside-down while scrunching until my hair is slightly damp and a bit "sticky". Then I let it air-dry and style. Curls are soft-never any crunchies or frizz. I'm getting used to the smell, it's actually growing on me, since I love the results so much! I've never seen any of the white reside discussed above-but it could be because of my light hair color. In december of 2012, I tried the product sample of the Sweetback Treatment. It is the best hair conditioner I have ever used. Immediately, upon rinsing, my hair had a vibrant non greasy sheen and felt very soft. My hair was sooo easy to comb thru and I wrapped my hair with a silk scarf to dry naturally. "Has Target lost their mind!? Miss Jessie is out of her's for charging that much..." and blah blah blah. A few weeks later I needed a tex-lax and did not follow my usual routine which is at least 2 weeks before hand I give myself a protein treatment. I also was not moisturizing as I should and suffered a lot of shedding afterward. Well I ran straight to Target in desperation because my usual Mixed Chicks DC and other moiturizing products were not doing the trick. My hair was DAS!! (dry as sh*t) and shedding profusely. Out of pure panic and desperation I purchased the 48 dollar jar of Miss Jessies Super Sweetback Treatment ( the16oz jar. ) At that point they probably could have gotten 100 dollars out of me! I was desperate!Well I must say Im loving it!! It smells like a piece of Bazooka bubble gum and it leaves my hair bouncy and makes my curls behave. My hair is frizzfree and shiny and soft to the touch. Oh, did I mention it smells like a wonderful piece of Bazooka bubble gum... lol oh yes I did. I have used it a total of 3 times and am not even half way through the jar which makes it well worth the 48 dollar price. Finally after years of long searching, a miracle worker appears!! This conditioner is exactly what a reparative conditioner should be. It is extremely thick and leaves your hair feeling very moisturized after use; not greasy and definitely not dry like many other conditioners do. For my thick, coarse, 4b hair, i need a product that deep conditions and doesn't strip my hair. This is the only product in the Miss Jessie's line that I swear by and am willing to pay the super high price for. I mean, [$] is a lot of money for conditioner but once you find a product that works and you know it works, stick with it. I recommended this product to anyone who needs a very very very good conditioner in their hair arsenal. Within two to three uses I saw a major change in the strength and manageability of my hair. I sit under a hood dryer for 15 minutes and rinse with cold water for maximum effect. This product has a strange Marine smell to it but i got over that quickly - the results made me forget the smell! After washing, I let my hair air dry and then twist sections after applying a small amount of the silkening cream on my entire head. I was introduced to these products by a friend and have been loyal ever since. I use the no-foam shampoo, ie the cleanser, and the conditioner and the silk stretching creme. Best shampoo ever! My daughter is a mixed child and has naturally long curly hair that tends to be very frizzy and dry no matter what time of the year. I always have to deep condition her hair just to put moisture in her hair and just to be able to comb though it.She would always complain about me pulling her hair and she had lots of tangles after using regular shampoos. She hated it when I had to wash her hair. I found this about 5 months ago and started using this in her hair. What a huge difference. I have been natural for about two years and when I first tried their products I was not impressed. I tried the Curly Pudding but switched to the Curly Meringue and I loved it once I learned how to use it properly. This product is more for twist outs and braid outs - especially for type 4 hair. I do not recommend using it as a wash and go product or anything of that sort. It gives my twist outs a nice and soft hold. I love this product. I did a braid out with it while my hair was wet and it came out soft and curly. It made my hair smell so good. I used in conjuction with the Super sweetback deep treatment which I love also. It made my hair feel like silk. It had so much shine to it. I could not ask for a better product. I always tell my natural friends I will pay the money on a product if it gives me good results. This product is a keeper in my collection. see less

I've always had dandruff and an itchy scalp. After learning about the drying effects of sulfates, I switched to [...] product line but still experienced itchiness and flaking. This was in part due to years of relaxing my hair. Last year I decided that I would stop having my hair relaxed and made the decision to move to [...]. Even though I was only using an essential oil mist, my itchy scalp continued and so did the flaking, according to my [...] consultant. One day about a month ago she told me about this product which I went to purchase immediately. I have been very pleased with the results and the fragrance is light and wonderful!!!! Off to purchase my 2nd bottle tommorow. I checked on line and my store indicates that it's in stock. The only thing is the ad on Target's website indicates that it's a 12 oz. bottle when, in fact, it's only 4 oz. But it's a whole lot cheaper than the [...] products and way more effective!!! see less

I use Shea Moisture's Coconut and Hibiscus line, but until recently they didn't have a rinse-out conditioner and so I was using this. I'm African American and transitioning to natural hair. I have about 6 months of new growth and my natural hair is tightly coiled. My relaxed hair is fine and straight. I LOVE this conditioner on both parts of my transitioning hair. I don't really have an itchy scalp or dandruff problems, but I feel like this conditioner is amazingly moisturizing and softening. It adds a lot of slip to my hair for easy detangling. In some ways, it makes the curly roots easier to get through than the relaxed ends, which are prone to tangling! And I love the way it smells. I also rely on SM and the sister company, Nubian Heritage, because their products are all-natural without being astronomically expensive. see less

This conditioner smells great and leaves my TWA moisturized and soft. I co-wash with this every other day and it works great to remove some of the product build up in my hair. I also use it normally after washing with the matching shampoo and I also use it to deep condition with a shower cap. see less

Have 4a/b hair. my scalp is VERY itchy and dry. when i first used this it stripped my hair so bad that it was hard and matted and i couldnt comb it. i was so scared. i had to slather my hair with a creamy conditioner but soften my hair. but i did notice that my scalp was very clean and it controlled the itching. SOOOOO, i now use it once a month as a clarifying shampoo and wash only ONE time with my hair in 4 sections. works like a charm. see less

I have super dry hair, thats always itchy. I was constantly scratching and when I did I could see flakes fall. That already sucked, but on top of all that I have hair that stinks, after two days of not washing it. Retaining length and moisture...forget aboutit. This product totally revolutionized my life, I am so glad I compulsively bought it. After the first use I had curls w/o having to use gel, after the first two days- my head stopped itching all the time, and after the first two weeks I can now get second and third day hair after a wash and go.....any longer than that and my bf will say it smells so its not a miracle worker see less

I found out about this shampoo from another website. It has caused a significant decrease in my scalp itch, which no other remedy has done. I plan on trying the Purification Masque next. One thing that surprised me about this shampoo is that it has significantly faded some hyperpigmentation on my face. I mean, within days of using it. I have not tried the black soap bar, but I tried a black soap face wash and a black soap body wash, and neither faded the spots like the shampoo has. So, I'm using the shampoo for both! see less
