The package arrived two days earlier than the expected delivery date in my order confirmation. No missing pieces at all, but one did have some white missing on the edge and the inside particleboard was showing--about a 1-inch square section--but that portion wouldn't be visible unless you lie on the floor and look at the underside of the desk, so I didn't take issue with that. The desk was very simple to assemble by myself and probably took less than an hour to do so. I do wish I had reinforced the wooden dowels with wood glue as some parts were wobbly during assembly, but after the whole piece was put together it felt a lot more solid. Would I sit on it? No. But it does a great job as a desk--which is exactly what I wanted. After building was complete, I did notice a few gray marks on some corners but I'm not sure if they were already there or happened during the build. I recommend assembling the piece on a rug or carpet and move it later. Overall it's a great value! see less

Absolutely love this desk! I was hesitant to buy it because so many complained of having the desk arrive damaged but I pushed my luck. Came in perfect condition. The box wasn't even damaged surprisingly. You have to walk up at least 50 concrete steps before you even get to the front door. Good Job UPS! Other than that, the desk is beautiful. I ordered this desk hoping it would not look too cheap. It is one of the lower priced desks out there that uses a drawer to hold the keyboard. When closed up it looks like a very clean, sleek piece of furniture, costing far more than what I actually paid. Simply attach four legs and a drawer knob and it is done! I was a little leery of purchasing this desk due to the prior reviews that said it arrived broken or with missing or mismatched pieces. First thing I did when I opened the box was inspect all the wood surfaces and they were perfect, it was packaged well. Very quick to put together - just 4 legs to attach and then screw in the knob for the drawer and that was it! It's a beautiful piece of furniture at a beautiful price. I was a bit skeptic when ordering this desk, but the consistent positive reviews convinced me to give it a try. The desk was delivered within three days of the order. The product was well packaged. Putting the desk together was a breeze since most of the components are already assembled. The wood feels solid and the desk is very sturdy. The stain is a deep, brown reddish color. Its design more appealing than on the pictures on Target.com. It looks and feels more than the advertised price, and this is a great furniture to add to your living space, or small home office, on which you can put a desktop or laptop computer. I have a 27 inches MAC display on it and it fits perfectly. As other have said in the review section, if you are hesitating about this purchase, don't. I am so glad I finally bought this desk. I have been eyeing it for months and when it went on sale, I pulled the trigger. It is absolutely beautiful, and so functional with the built-in shelving underneath. I bought the black Avington banker's chair to go with it and it is just beautiful. Another feature that I LOVE about this desk is how large it is. I bought it because I will begin working on a dissertation soon and wanted a desk with lots of space for papers, books, laptop, etc. This will definitely do the trick. When I'm done with school this desk will be an excellent workbench for arts and crafts. Only a couple of cons, like other reviewers mine arrived with a few nicks and scratches on the edges, but it was nothing a Sharpie couldn't fix! Found the style of this desk to be a exactly what I was looking for... wanted something simple that would go with anything. My plan was to convert my daughter's old bedroom into a computer/guest room and when I ordered it I had barely begun. It sat in the box for 3 months until I could get everything vacated. I couldn't get my new room painted fast enough! The only downfall was when the time came to actually assemble it, I discovered that the center "bar" underneath the tabletop was broken. I figured it was a quick fix and my father-in-law took care of it with no problem. The assembly was quite easy and after we flipped it right side up, discovered a small blemish in the finish. Fortunately, that was towards a corner so I figure I will be able to cover it up with a lamp or something. Neither of the 2 issues would have been worth repacking for return. All in all a very good looking piece of furniture for the price, especially if you watch for it to go on sale! see less

Desks at twice or more the price didn't have such a positive following. I assembled it in around an hour by myself. The instructions recommend two people and while that might have been easier, it is possible to do alone. The biggest challenge is putting it upright following assembly. Was in the market for a new desk, a smaller one but that could fit a lot of stuff. This desk was perfect! It looks great, easy to assemble and I just happen to catch it on sale when I bought it. The slide out platform on the left side of the desk is handy if you have a scanner, which I don't, but have instead used it for frequently used items (i.e., envelopes, blank media, etc.). The platform might be a downfall for others if they don't have a scanner, but I think it's great and convenient! see less

This desk is exactly what I wanted. It was easy to put together and sturdy, but not too heavy. It went together very easily and quickly. I was concerned about the drawer, but it slides wonderfully. The big sticker was a little work to remove, but after I pulled off most of the paper, a little nail polish remover removed the remaining glue. The desk is perfect for a small space and ideal for a laptop computer. I am very satisfied with the size, price, and quality of this product. I love this desk! I have a small space that it fit snuggly into. I use a laptop for my workspace that fits on the keyboard pull out perfectly. I also have enough space under the desk for a fullsize all-in-one photo printer, paper shredder, file box, and my computer chair fits nicely under the desk. the drawer isn't huge, but a good spot for extra cables. The quality is alright and the particle board is denser than most, the veneer finish looks great, however it is prone to scratching easily, I actually had a piece of glass cut and beveled to lay on the top of the desk to protect the work surface. Still great though, it's very sturdy, more than I thought it would be. It also took about 30 mins to assemble the directions were visual and clear and I liked that the hardware was labled according to the step of assembly you were on, I would def recommend this desk, I do love mine! This is a nice, small desk. We were looking for a small desk to put in the office area of our retail business. The dimensions seemed good. It arrived as indicated when the order was placed and it was pretty easy to put together, did it myself (female) in approx 2-3 hours. The color is pretty and the design is simple, the drawers move nicely in/out, no hang ups or sticking. However, it is too small of a desk for us to use as we need and ended up buying a larger desk. The space between the cubbies on the left and the drawers on the right is too small to push in a desk chair on wheels w/ armrests. The space is only about 20 inches wide. A regular 4-legged chair with no armrests slides in fine. Now the desk is at our house, fit right in the back of my 4Runner. It is a heavy desk for its size and we were concerned about its stability when moving it. There is no support down low between the two sides and it kind of felt like if we weren't careful, the top could snap. Overall this is a great desk for the price but didn't work for our purpose. If I knew it was going to end up in our house, I would have bought a wood desk vs. laminate but it is a nicely constructed and good looking laminate. It doesn't look cheap or seem like it will peel. see less

The instructions were in diagram form and not the easiest to understand, but, on the plus side, ALL the parts were included, in fact, there were extra parts, 17 additional screws and wood pegs to be exact. The dimensions stated were correct, and the wood was in pretty good condition, with just a few minor scratches and gouges here and there. When I came home to find the box sitting on my porch, I was already impressed. All corners and edges had bracing on the outside for protection. When I opened the box I was pleased to find all wood parts were labeled. The hardware bags also included a screwdriver. Directions for assembly were great and I had my desk built in around a hour. Everything fit together very nicely and I'm very pleased with the quality of the "Sauder" brand desk. It also looks great as well! Great buy! see less

I do have a few complaints though. It took over 3 1/2 hours to assemble! Also the bottom of the drawers are made of cardboard instead of wood. Just one note [...] It is not solid wood as the other [...]. It is particle board. Though, I must say the quality is very good and the finish is fantastic. I don't fancy shopping for furniture of any kind online. To be able to touch and examine up close and in-person has always been an experience "online shopping" can't give. However, I've been looking for a new desk for a long time and decided I needed one to fit my needs. Quick background:I'm a media producer of all types and use dual-monitors (sometimes 3!). Space is always an issue, as I have papers scattered around with editing notes. Placing a 26" monitor next to my 13" laptop = a beautiful fit. The keyboard tray holds keyboard + mouse, without feeling awkward. Sturdy and affordable!I saw only one downside, and it was the placement of the tray underneath. The parts I had made the tray seem upside-down. I thought it would be uncomfortable, but to be honest, I completely forgot about it for the past 2 months since I purchased.Highly recommend if you want a sleek, low-price PC desk for your home or home office. This is a great desk! It was super easy to assemble, requiring only a screwdriver (no drill). The desktop has a black polyurethane coating, so you don't need to worry about a finish that chips or wears away over time. The keyboard tray fits a full-sized keyboard and mouse comfortably, glides out easily, and feels nice and solid under my wrists.The desk is spacious and sturdy. I'm using it with a 25" widescreen monitor that is normally a bit wobbly. On my old desk, the monitor rocked every time I typed on my keyboard. On this desk, the monitor is rock solid.I think this looks even classier in person than in the pictures. In all the photos I've seen online, the desktop seems to have a dark brown tinge to it. It was quite easy to put together. One just has to put on the legs with 2 sets of screws per leg. It comes with the special tool, which is the same tool most furniture comes with for assembly. I disagree with reviews that say this item is difficult to assemble. Unlike a lot of the Liso products, the drawer comes already assembled. The only work that needs to be done is installing the four legs, which attach easily... especially easy if you have access to a ratchet. It took less than ten minutes to assemble and is very sturdy. see less

I bought this and the matching file cabinet, the box wasn't damaged. When I went to put it together, the top had a corner that was split and damaged. The top is not real wood. The hutch has pre drilled holes in the back that don't allow the screws to recess and be plugged with the supplied plugs. The drawer front was split on both sides when they screwed the front on. Quality control should have caught these issues before they left the plant. I will have to fix these problems rather than sending it back and waiting for another week or more and getting something worse. see less

The quality of the screws and bolts is FAR superior to that of most other desks and bookcases I've ever had to build, and I'm a furniture sales person!I really love that there are two full desktops on this thing, but it only occupies the space of a single desk! I can have my keyboard on the wood desktop and my laptop and other computer stuff (and I've got a lot of that) all positioned on the glass top and still have room for books when I'm studying.There is a storage shelf underneath the wood desktop which is handy for things like speakers, CD spindles, software titles, etc. The two drawers provide adequate storage space for almost everything one would need at their desk.[...]All in all, I'd recommend this desk, should it fit the needs of the user. see less

I did not find the pegs in the lower leg supports too long. It is a great strong little desk heavy built and easy to put together. They even supply the wrench to tighten the bolts that attach the legs. The legs are around 2 and 1/2 square and seem to be made of real hardwood. Drawers slide well as they are on rails reather than wood sliding on wood as in so cheaper models. Good finish too. see less

I am really happy with this desk. It looks really nice, nothing came damaged, and it is the perfect size for my needs. The dimensions are 42x24x30. The dimensions listed must be a typo because it says it is 42x42 which is impossible. It was easy to put together. My only complaint is that the support bars between the legs are not flush with the desk legs because some of the holes that dowels go into were not drilled in far enough. I didn't take the time to fix it, but once the desk is put together, it's not noticable at all. see less

I have had this desk for about 4 years now. I love it! It's still going strong. I did a couple things to make it work better for me. I didn't attach the computer tower stand and the bottom shelf on the right I took off and put my tower under there. The top shelf I didn't attach because my monitor didn't sit right on there. Once I got all of that done it was perfect! The bookshelf is still right next to it in perfect condition. Both pieces have stood up through a lot of moving. I'm very rough with my desk because I game a lot and it's still doin it's job well. see less

But most of it I was able to do on my own.-The packaging with the screws in it came apart in the shipping, so there were screws scattered all over the box and some were missing. I'm not sure if they fell out or if they weren't there in the first place.-Be careful when following the assembly manual, some steps are missing altogether!For the most part, though, this is a nice little desk! see less

This item is solid and beautiful but the assembly of it was poor! The whole left side of the frame (black part the legs attach) is not attached due to stripped screws. One screw doesn't even stay in at all. As soon as I turned it upright, the screw fell out. Also, the keyboard tray is too narrow for an ergonomical keyboard. Fits a standard sized keyboard laying flat (without the tilt stands erected).If the hardware worked properly, this would be a solid wood writing desk. It is beautiful looking and they even throw in colored "crayons" to color in scratches. see less

And seriously...when you are buying a composit wood desk....THE BACK IS ALWAYS UNFINISHED!!! Get a clue people...and trust me...as long as you have brain cells...this is a good desk. I was looking for a small desk for my computer which has a wireless keyboard and mouse. The keyboard and mouse fit perfectly on the lower table and there is plenty of clearance when I push the lower table back under the upper table so the mouse and keyboard can stay in place on the lower table when I am done using my computer. There is even room for a small lamp next to the monitor on the upper table. It is the perfect size for my small living room and looks great with my transitional-style furniture. It's the top of the bigger desk with the lip along the edge, and the piece is pretty much destroyed. Even though the box looked like it had been through a war zone, everything inside came through untouched - in perfect condition! All due to the excellent packaging, I'm sure! It took about 30-45 minutes - with bifocals & coffee - to assemble. The directions were very easy to follow - and all the parts were numbered and hardware was packed in little alphabetized ziplock bags. Idiot-proof, for sure!
