Great toy for anyone that likes to have peace and quiet on an airplane, restaurant, car ride, etc. It is educational for my Son, but really I bought it for my Wife and I. My Son really likes it too. There are lots of apps/videos available. It is also durable, especially with a cover on it. I would pick this over a tablet PC for a sub 5 year old. see less

I bought this for my daughter. She's 3 and enjoys her InnoTab 2S. We don't have to worry about the batteries as much since she has the adapter. It plugs up easily and we have an extension cord so that she can play as long as she wants without it saying different :-) Love that the InnoTab 2S has wifi capabilities. I really enjoy that. AND! I have two free downloads that I chose for her that I think is purely fun for her. She's easy to please so you can imagine how much fun she can really have with just anything. Great value with online sale price plus 5 percent off using red card. Passed the leapster explorer down to my daughter but all of the games are interchangeable a HUGE plus. The games also work with the leap pad which my kids share for now. Great selection of games that actually have a learning component - math, reading, counting, shapes, etc. This will delay a nintendo DS system for at least a few more years! Purchase the skin for durability. One of the buttons is already starting to rub off and he has only had this for 30 days. I may see if I can exchange it. Love that it plugs in to charge - the biggest downfall of the first leap pad. My son loves the headphones and has the cases to hold all of his games also. I bought this for my 6 year old son who really wanted a Nintendo DS. I had owned Leapters before and wasn't ready to commit to a handheld that had no educational value so I took a chance on the GS. He loves it. He has spent hours playing the NFL and star wars game that I bought him and we went online and picked out apps together (Trex run, monkey soccer). The apps are great. He even enjoys the included Sillies app which I was worried might be too young for him. A total win. Oh yeah, and my 8 year old with the Nintendo asks if he can have a turn and a login on the LeapsterGS. I only wish there were more reading game apps like the old Star Wars Reading. see less

My little girl just loves her Innotab! It's wonderful that we can track her progress and see how she is using her Innotab and also where she needs to improve. Battery consumption is not a problem if you buy 2 sets of rechargeable batteries and always have one charging while the other set is in use in the toy. The only problem we have with the Innotab is that the stylus is not attached to the Innotab itself. She is constantly misplacing her stylus. Just a thought! This is the "BEST" toy we have ever gotten my little girl. Thank you! see less

This is great to take along on road trips. It has kept my daughter entertained. She loves reading have always read to her and shared a love of reading with her. This product only adds to that. My child is reading at a first grade level and is starting kindergarten in the fall. Reading to your child is still the best thing to do with them but having a reader helps promote self learning and reading when you have other things to do. see less

We purchased this for our granddaughter's 2nd birthday...she loves singing and dancing! She and her two sisters, ages 3 and 6, had a blast with it! As did the other party guests;) Our daughter said they played with it so much over the weeks after, they ran the batteries down!!! I only wish they included an AC cord...it has the area to plug one in. It would surely save on batteries! It has very good (loud) volume;) All in all...I would recommend it to anyone. Game is shared between an 8 year old above average reader and a 6 year old below average reader. Both enjoy. The Barbary Coast is an area of San Francisco and the game discusses \ brings up different places in San Francisco. After a recent move to the Bay Area, I discovered a side benefit of this game. Both kids are very interested in visiting San Francisco and learning more about places in the game. see less

I have a 4 year old son that got this game this weekend and while the games are not "extremely" challenging (with a little help from mom!) they do get a little harder as the game progresses. He spent the better part of the day working on it and is not thru all of it yet; I'm not sure what the puzzle points do yet but unlike the other review said there is another game stage and that's where you use them in - plus there are extra modules you can add to it which we are very excited about! I think it's a great game that will keep my little guy entertained for many, many hours to come. see less

I bought my daughter who had just turned 3 for christmas last year. she absolutely loves it and is really learning from it on top of what i'm teaching her to reinforce it. I love thta you can check their progress on the computer so you're not hamgimg over their shoulder while they read and play games (it would irritate me if someone did that to me:) The only cons are it eats batteries so I bought the AC adapter which solved that. Also, I'm having a bit of trouble downloading ebooks from the vtech site, which i about to work on again right now. i wish they had made it more clear on the outside of the box you needed a memeory card and suggested an AC adapter to save parents another trip back to the store! otherwise it's great! see less

My 4 year old got this for Christmas from Grandma. She loves it! The princess game is especially nice because it has two different stories to hear from Cinderella and Belle. My daughter won't put it down. The only draw back is that we changed the batteries twice the day she got it and three more times since then. It's very good for a learning tool! My grandson continues to enjoy this game each and every time he plays it. He'll shout out when he achieves another goal or clears a level. He commonly would last about 15 minutes on other game devices, he would want someone else to move past levels he couldn't achieve. Not with Leap Pad 2. He doesn't want to put it down. My daughter has used her innotab every day. She loves it!! The battery life is not that great but you get what you pay for, we bought duracell batteries and they lasted for 2 days. I plan on purchasing rechargeable batteries and the power cord. She watches movies on it, listens to music, plays games, paints, listens to stories...the possibilities with it are endless. I love this, we bought this for my 2 year old daughter (and will probably be buying one for 3yo too she has vreader and mobigo) I would definitely say however, this is NOT an educational toy. I haven't yet bought the cartridges (can't see spending 25 on something i just paid [$] for). The music player and video player are what gets used most. My daughter LOVES the drawing and coloring too. The ereader stories are pretty neat but they are the EXACT same content on the vreader and the games are the same in the Mobigo. I was hoping there would be some different content. This is fine for us because we own all 3 vtech tech toys and use this one solely for entertainment and the other ones as the educational tools. I wouldn't bother downloading games onto the innotab they don't play as well as the mobigo either. The one that we downloaded is my oldests fav (monkey disco) the monkey says a letter and you find it on your keyboard and press it. but on the innotab it says a letter and there are two on the screen you press the right one. How challenging is that? Anyway like i said this thing is GREAT for entertainment, just not really learning. see less
