At first I loved this strainer, but after just a few uses in a one month time frame, the metal mesh is rusting. I take good care of my kitchen tools, so I was obviously shocked to see rust. I have other no-name brand strainers that I've been using for years and they are perfectly fine. Very disappointing. see less

This product fails. It works as a strainer provided you don't whip it too much. You know, when you're trying to get do something well-drained and you whip it up and down over a sink. The downward pressure is too much for the handle, and it snaps in two. If you want a strainer where you gently agitate it or leave it still, this will work, but beyond that, it's a waste of money. You're better off getting one with a full metal handle. see less

If you want a big colander, don't buy one that's only 1.5 quarts. This is a very well made, small colander, that's super convenient for quick tasks like rinsing berries for breakfast. Everyone that we've showed ours to want one just like it. see less

I was given a gift card for Mother's Day to buy a different brand of collapsible over the sink colander that was a few dollars more. When I went order that one I found it would be 6-8 weeks before it was available. This one was available for shipping immediately. So I did some further research. I love the fact that I don't have to expand the bowl section and if I do I can choose two different sized. I can leave it flat and wash cut veggies in the sink and then dump in the pot on the stove. Have used to drain pasta, and served from the counter as a family buffet... was able to re-heat pasta in micro and in the sink with hot water. This is the third hand in the kitchen. Perfect size and easy to store. This is the one to have. Thank you for the Great Mother's day gift. see less

I love this collapsible colander! It takes up a small amount of space in my tiny kitchen but still allows me to use a full-sized colander. It is just my husband and me in our apartment so we don't cook massive amounts of food, but this colander has been great for quickly draining pasta and for washing fruits and veggies. I love how the 'arms' pull out and I can rest it on the ledges of my sink or simply set it in the sink and it doesn't wobble. It will be great to use when we have guests and I am preparing larger quantities of food. This colander is very solid and durable and extremely easy to clean. It doesn't get super hot like a metal colander would when you drain a pot of boiling pasta. Like any other colander, food can get stuck in the drainage holes, so be sure to always check while you're washing it. I am very pleased with this colander and am so glad to have it! The 1 star make is not for the product itself but for the package and handling.This item was ordered from a bridal registry....came damaged...the round colander arrived in an oval shape!! I would think better care in packaging the product could have avoided the damage. see less

I purchased this colander to co-ordinate with the colors in my new kitchen. Beautiful color, heavy-duty finish/construction or so I thought. I used this colander less than six months when the rust spots started to appear. Then the finish started flaking off! I didn't even use it more than 2-3 times a month! We received this as a Christmas gift this past year. I absolutely love it! It's very lightweight and handy. The sides expand to fit your sink. However, the colander I have actually has foam coating around the edges. Cleans well in the dishwasher. see less

Great that it goes over the sink instead of sitting in the bottom. Absolutely do not like this product because the food gets stuck between the mesh and the metal rim. The mesh has started to detach from me having to "poke out" the noodles from their entrapment. see less

This colander is exactly what I needed. It's sturdy, stands up well when food is poured into it, and the holes are well-spaced. The only minor thing is that if you're draining something that's been finely chopped, you will need to cover the holes so that the food doesn't go through. I used a paper towel and it worked well. The colander cleans up easily which was a problem with the plastic colanders. Overall, I highly recommend this colander. see less

There have been nothing but good reviews for this product for years. Rubber gaskets wear out no matter how good/new the product is. Whenever buying a product like this, keep in mind that it is a repeatative use product and that gasket can and should be replaced each year. Always check prior to starting your new canning season and order, form many suppliers on line, a couple extra gaskets to have on hand. [...] see less

Over the last 2 growing seasons, it's worked very well. I've made 15 gallons of grape juice. This year it leaks the juice out the handle crank. We were told that the plastic ring wears out, and we'd have to buy another. A disappointment when you want to get the job done when your counters are full of fruit and you can't run down to Target for replacement parts. see less

I'm convinced it's actually sentient and rebellious. Problem one - if you push it down because you want it to stop the drain, it takes several tries to place it securely, then it quickly dislodges and drains all the water. Problem two - if you don't want it to stop the drain, it will stop the drain. It knows. It likes frustrating you. Problem three - the outer rim sits higher than the rim of your drain, so there is a constant puddle around it. Problem four - [$]. For a drain stopper. I wish I read the reviews here before I bought it. see less

I have bought several different sink stoppers, none of which work well. When I saw the OXO brand stopper, I was encouraged, because other OXO items I have purchased have been of good quality. However, this stopper does not work at all. The stopper does not snugly fit into the drain, but it does hold water when the sink is filled. However, as soon as dishes are placed in the sink, the upper ring, which sits above the drain, is dislodged, causing the stopper to move and the water drains. I do like the flexible rubber strainer, however. see less

Please do not buy this product if you intend to use it to hold water in your sink. It does a fine job at straining all of the debris in my sink, but it cannot hold water. I was very excited to get this, but was severely disappointed. When I fill up my sink the water stays until I bump the stopper with a dish. Do not buy this to use as a drain stopper!!! Buy the cheaper strainer only option. see less
