I didn't give it 4 stars for quality because it was difficult to assemble - not all of the holes lined up and we had to improvise. I love the color of this piece. We also have the TV stand from this collection and have gotten tons of compliments on everything. The nightstands match our higher-end pieces in our room. I bought many of the Avington pieces and they all match perfectly! My delivery came in the rain and had been sitting for hours in the rain, but everything was packed really nicely and with all the styrofoam, everything inside was dry! I've had experience assembling furniture like this, so I did not need the instructions, but overall, you don't need anything more than a Phillips head screwdriver...everything else came in the box. The pieces are real wood, except if a piece has a back piece, which is that MDF, but it is not too flimsy...as a matter of fact, once it's screwed on, it is very durable and really helps to hold everything together. I am very happy with my purchases! see less

We have a king sleep number bed and so we needed a taller nightstand - this nightstand works great. The product is quality - even my husband who wasn't so sure about me ordering a nightstand that was assemble yourself has said it looks nice. We love the open self above the drawers too. I was looking for two night stands on a tight budget. All I could find were small tables with no drawer and they were ugly. When I found these I couldn't believe the price. They were easy to put together, but are not solid. They will do the job and look great, I love that they have a drawer and cabinet for all my husbands gadgets and books. I have two boys under 2yrs old and didn't want anything too expensive that they will end up denting etc. anyways. I do plan on buying some wood to replace the inside bottom, it's just too flimsy and thin. I am overall very happy simply because of the price. I got 5 percent off and free shipping because I have a Target visa card which was awesome. I would buy again, but if I had more money to spend I would get something more solid. see less

This a piece of JUNK. Do not waste your money on it. Wish I read the review before purchasing. The sides are made out of some sort of cardboard. The screws split the ? kind of wood as I tried to assemble. Had to use wood glue to put together. They use some kind of cardboard panels that would not fit, I had to very carefully shave them down otherwise the finish would chip off. You need several hands to assemble. This took me longer to assemble than the sewing cabinet I purchased from an American company. DO NOT waste your money on this product. purchased this night stand for my daughters new apartment. Very disappointed. Although it looks good and the color is great too, the quality is terrible. She put it together and its very wobbly. Months later I flew out for a visit and had to pick up some wood glue and put it together again. Not as bad now. It wasnt worth returning. She doesnt own a car and the it was more of a hassle to break it down and have to take a taxi to the nearest target. DONT RECOMMEND. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY see less

Read reviews before purchasing, some good... some bad...took my chance...and glad I did! These are very nice tables, well made, not cheapish! Matched them with a dresser that I had from Gardner's Furniture and they worked out perfectly. There are LOTS of screws to screw in...so be prepared. Other than that...no complaints...well worth the price...love them! see less

Instructions are very good and easy to follow for this type of assemble-it-yourself furniture. After a brief introduction, the instructions include details of the hardware, parts list and how to use the cam lock system. The main assembly instructions include 9 easy to follow steps including a picture, required hardware & parts and some further details to complete each step correctly. I found all the hardware and furniture pieces easy to identify. The hardware and parts were of very high quality and resulted in a better than average night stand. I am a very proud owner of the furniture i assembled. There are a couple of improvements that i would recommend to further increase the ease of assemble. The wood dowel holes could be drilled with slightly tighter tolerances. Also, a small power screw driver is required to self tap the screws for the slide supports and drawers. It makes assemble go much easier and faster!. see less

This is a very classy looking piece. The first one was a bit of a struggle to put together, but the second one was assembled no problem--experience is key. Just like some of the other reviewers have said, there are some typos in the instructions but you can figure them out if you just think about if for a minute (beware of the "green" screws). see less

I think there is a glitch in the instructions on where to place (F?). (The part that holds the back in place.) I had to put it in a different spot to allow the drawer(s) to be pushed in competely.. One of the drawers (I purchased 2 units) still does not work properly. The screws were difficult to put in. They all had to be forced to go in straight. The wood in the drawer sides is very soft and does not want to hold the screws. I would have like to have known that this is a Sauder product. I probably would have purchased the item anyway but I could have planned my time better to allow for the assembly. see less

Had no trouble putting it together, it matched perfectly to my bedroom set! It has been sturdy and roomy. The drawers are deep and glide nicely. The lil' shelf is great for storing things I use regularly like remote controls and books...which leaves the top clear for decorative items for an uncluttered look. I couldn't be happier...now I just need one for the other side of the bed. see less

I bought this nightstand after using a larger short dresser from a[......] for a long time. The rest of my bedroom furniture comes from that store and I was looking for a nightstand that matched it- color wise. This is much darker and has a more orangey tint than the photo depicts- beware!Otherwise it was fairly easy to put together- I would recommend using a power drill, made it go a lot faster. Including putting together drawers (which I always hate) it only took about an hour. It looks nice and is a great height. see less

The only con I have for this piece of furniture is that it took my husband three hours to put two of them together. The nightstands are sturdy and don't look like cheap, compressed cardboard. They match our cherry-colord bedroom furniture perfectly and I was surprised by how deep the top slit is. I have a larger than normal laptop, it has a number pad, and it fits perfectly with room to spare. see less

We are pretty happy with this purchase. The quality is not supreme, but it does the job. It looks great. We've had it for over 6 months now. It's held up pretty well and is easy to clean. We have a low platform bed so we needed something that would be on the shorter side and hold knick-knacks, but we didn't need two drawers, it's nice to have the little shelf. I ordered two of these for my bedroom, I also ordered the matching dresser and mirror. My main complaint would be that the drawers are put together with the plastic sliders that the drawers rest on so im not sure how well they are going to hold up. And as to be expected for the price both the back of the night stands and the back of the dresser are made with the cardboard backing. But they do look really nice from the front see less

I was looking for temporary furniture and came across this. It looks wonderful! All the pieces were in great condition (no scratches). I put it together by myself- took about an hour. Fitting the drawer in the nightstand was the most difficult and time consuming part. Since the "sliders" are made from plastic it doesn't slide very easy. If you want something that looks nice and is semi-functional this is the nightstand to get! It is VERY sturdy. Once again, the drawer does work it just doesn't slide easy. see less
