I love this crib. It's so well made. I love the thick wood and the color matched the picture perfectly. I'm a single mom and I put the crib together by myself. It took about 45 minutes. It did scratch minimally putting it together. I love that its a shorter crib, I am able to just set my daughter in the crib, instead of lifting her slightly, which I did in my last crib. It matches our moulding and nursery perfectly. My husband put it together and said it was easier than he thought it would be. Took him about an hour and a half. Overall this seems to be a great crib although we won't be using it for a couple more months. It is very sturdy and arrived quickly and in good condition. There is one spot where the paint is scratched off but it is not really noticeable. The instructions weren't that clear but we figured it out. The one thing I wish was different about this crib is that the screws were white on the ends or caps were provided to cover the end of the screws. You can see the screw heads which bothers me. I think i will buy some white paint and see if that helps. Overall, very happy with this crib! see less

im very happy with this! looks very nice and expensive. some of the cribs i looked at seems to be made of very thin wooded structure and i really didn't like that made it look cheap and didn't look as sturdy. this frame is much more thinker so its a lot more sturdy and gives it a much more expensive look. I'm very happy with this. just remember black painted furniture scratches very easy so i might suggest getting the expresso color. i kind of wish i would have gone that route but i really wanted the black. i just have to get a black touch up marker to conceal the scratches. even when i put together the dresser i somehow already scratched it. see less

I love how I can adjust the height of the mattress so I don't have to bend over too much as my baby is and infant and drop the mattress down lower as he gets taller. The color is great and matches my espresso changing table of another brand. While it was not difficult to put together, I would not have wanted to do it by myself at 7 months pregnant. It took my husband and I about an hour and we were taking our time not to scratch the wood after reading some of the other reviews. It came with all pieces and in perfect condition. I love that it has 4 height adjustments and my husband said it will be easy for him to adjust when the time comes. Because the feet of the crib are curved it is easy to move on the carpet if we decide we want to move it to a different spot in the room. Two of my cousins had babies earlier this year and love their DaVinci cribs, I already love mine and can't wait to use it for my baby boy due it September! see less

I had researched all over online for different baby cribs and decided I had wanted a convertible crib from the [..] After reading various reviews, I found that the Kalani seemed to be the best for us taking into consideration all the information, price, and style. My husband and father had actually set up the crib and it seemed to take them just a little bit of time. But to me this is a good thing. we really like this crib. the baby won't be here for another month, but we have it put together waiting. it was pretty easy to put together, it only took us about 45 minutes. the crib seems very sturdy. the wood is a little soft and may nick easily. we are planning on buying protectors down the road to prevent bite marks. we also have the changing table which is also good quality and sturdy. the drawers have nice storage space. can't wait to actually use them. only 4 weeks away! see less

This crib is perfect. I love it in our nursery. The drawer underneath is pretty shallow, but its good to store extra sheets, blankets, etc. When the mattress is all the way up, you can see the drawer contents underneath. I made a simple crib "skirt" to attach to the inside of the crib to conceal it. It really is a beautiful crib and it's a great price for the look and quality. It took my husband about an hour to put together and he said it was way easier than the dresser we ordered from [.]. When the description reads atural color it is natural colored, not orange or yellow like some other pieces we have seen on the internet. It is simple and cute without going over the top. I received this crib for my daughter right before she was born in September 2009. I love it! I don't remember exactly how it was to put together, but I do remember that I assembled it by myself when I was a couple months away from having a baby, so it couldn't have been that bad... I do remember that it was very difficult attaching the crib bottom(that holds the mattress up) by myself because it was hard screwing in the bracket things without the whole bottom piece being somewhat level. I had to lay underneath it kind of propping everything up while I tried screwing the parts in. The other thing I remember is the screws/bolts(?) that are used to hold all the main pieces of the crib together kept coming loose and making all the pieces loose before my daughter was even in the crib. The problem must have been because I'm weak though, because after my husband went through and tightened everything, we never had a problem with any loose pieces again. I like that it has a fixed side so there is no danger to my daughter, plus I believe drop-side cribs have been banned because of the recalls. There is a sliding drawer that stores underneath the crib that is very useful. It is not actually attached to the crib, it just sits on the floor and has wheels to slide it out. It is flimsy in comparison to the crib, but it is just an added convenience, so I'm not complaining. The wood of the crib is very sturdy and a nice natural color that will match nicely with other natural colored furniture pieces, even if they are not a perfect match. I love the style, but it is not very compatible with mobiles that sit on the top of the rails, or with crib bumpers that tie around the slats(because the larger slat in the back, and because the legs become wide in areas where the bumper ties to). I managed to still tie a bumper around, but it was just kind of an annoying task. Overall, I absolutely love this crib, and it has held up wonderfully with no issues for the 18 months since I have had my daughter! see less

The size of the changing pad area is not standard, but it comes with a thin pad and we bought a thick cover to put over it. Works just fine. Now that she's 19 months old there isn't really room to keep the wipes, etc, right on the changing table with us, but we solved that problem by putting a shelf right to the side of it. The drawers hold a lot. and it's a sturdy piece of furniture that will last through several kids. see less

It's the perfect height for me (5-6) and there's plenty of space for me to change him and place the items I need on the pad (wipes, diaper ointment, etc.). First of all the crib arrived very quickly, within 2 days of placing the order! Crib arrived packaged very well and all pieces were in great condition. First time owning a fixed side crib, our last child was born in 2004 and we used drop side cribs back then. This crib has lower rails than the older types, which is great since I was concerned about how I'd get baby in with ease without the use of drop side. Crib is designed well and should be easy to get the little one in and out. We love the honey finish, coordinates well with other honey pine furniture I have in the room. Overall crib is very sturdy, well constructed and we can't wait for the little one to use it. see less

yes, it's a pain to setup. it's heavy, it's awkward, and some of the bolt holes are at... interesting... angles. I would say it's easier with a helper, but I wouldn't know because I wanted to surprise my wife so I did it myself. setup took a little longer than I had anticipated, doing it myself and all, but now I know all there is to know about it. and given the weight and the way it all bolts together, I feel very confident that it's not going to fall apart the moment our child decides to stand up in it. the only real gripe I have is that when the time comes to change this to the full bed, you have to buy the rails separately from the company. Would be nice if they came with... I would definitely buy again, and I would definitely recommend to friends and family. As a matter of fact, I already have! see less

It took less than an hour to assemble this crib. There was a lot of thought put into the location of the screws which made putting this unit together a breeze. The labels on the sides that become the head and footboards for the beds indicate the outside/inside and this made it practically impossible to put the wrong side out. Putting the front side on is the most difficult part and I would recommend a 2nd person. Also, do not completely tighten the back to the sides so that you can slip the front in without scratching the finish. Quality, fit and finish seem good. I look forward to many years with this unit as my son grows. This crib was a replacement for one that we purchased 6 years ago for my first baby. To answer an earlier post about adjusting the mattress height difficulty, I believe this is easier than the crib this replaced for us. Nothing a 2nd pair of hands won't help. see less

I bought the crib because I liked the style. I intended for it to be used as the toddler bed and headboard later. After I got it, I'm not sure that the bars on it will last quite long enough to go with him when he moves out. Its sturdy and seems very safe, but one good kick from a bigger kid and the bars will be toast. It wasn't terribly difficult to put together.... after you finally figured out which part was which... and I still like the style and color. I'm just not sure this is the life long purchase I wanted. I liked the look of it in the picture and I liked the 4 mattress height settings, the drawer underneath for storage, and the fact that the toddler rail comes with it as well. I was disappointed as soon as I opened the box. It just didn't seem as substantial as I had hoped. The wood also was softer than I had expected. I made a few dents in it myself while putting it together. My own fault of course, but irritating that it hadn't even been used yet. The directions were not clear, but the pieces were not clearly marked either. It took almost 2 hours to put this all together, and I feel could have easily been cut in half. The drawer is a pile of junk. I tried to open it to see how it would slide. It literally fell apart as I pulled it out. I finally took the entire thing apart today and put it back in the box. I am definitely going to return this. There really isn't anything I ended up liking about it. see less

The result is a very sturdy, practical dresser with changing table top. Actually, this dresser wound up being bigger than I had thought it would be. It's going to be the perfect size for many years of kids' clothes. Plus, I really like that there are built-in plastic glides on the bottoms of the feet so that they don't scratch the floor when you move the dresser unit. This is a solid piece of furniture, but I do wish the back were a solid piece. I do not like the fact that to secure the changing table I have to put holes in the furniture that will stay after I turn it into a dresser. Overall for the price I love this dresser, it is easy to use and even my son can open and retrieve his own clothes. My husband and I purchased this changing table and matching crib in February for our baby who is due in July. We assembled it in March and noticed right away that the furniture had a really horrible smell to it - like a chemical/paint smell. We figured we had plenty of time for the furniture to air out before our baby arrived, but it's now the end of June and the furniture still smells horrible. We have kept the windows open in the baby's room and have tried several natural deoderizors, and nothing has worked. When the windows are closed, the smell of the furniture makes me choke, so how am I supposed to let the baby sleep in there? Putting the furniture together was easy, but I just wanted to share how badly it smells because I really do not feel safe letting my newborn breathe in these awful chemicals. see less

I'm not sure what all the complaining is about. Took aproximately an hour to assemble and is pretty sturdy. Time will tell if it remains that way. The pad that comes with the dresser is somewhat cheap but planned on using another pad anyhow. see less

We got the whole set for our nursery and absolutely love this item. The furniture is rather modern lookind and both me and my husband loved the product. I didn't give it 5 stars because the drawers are lighter than I would have hoped for, but that is OK... I am not expecting something too heavy. I would purchase again. see less

Great Crib. Well Designed. Safe.I'm all for giving others their voices, but there is a lot of misinformation in many of these comments. All information online and in store clearly states coloration may vary and anyone buying furniture should know there are many different shades of Expresso. That is why we bought the crib, hutch, cubbies, changing table all from Babyletto, at the same time. All pieces match beautifully and look amazing.There are NO pieces that STICK OUT. Whoever had some, must not have assembled it correctly. I'm not very mechanical, but put it together in about 45 minutes. One does need to pay attention to the directions. The drawings are clear but you have to do some identifying of pieces on your own before you start. It would have been nice if the pieces were labeled, but you can look at your parts inventory and figure it out.As for missing pieces, we were given too many screws for every piece we ordered. If you were shorted, maybe you put the wrong screws in the wrong holes. But all screws are standard, so if you are missing any, it is easy to pick up extras at a local HomeDepot.A top on a crib? Not even sure any cribs have tops. Anyway, if you look at the picture before you buy or see the crib in the store, it is exactly what you get. There are many views online and the color I received is exactly the color online (maybe others need to adjust their monitors.Very sturdy crib. Lots of room. My wife is just over 5 feet, and the crib is easy to reach into. It is also easy to adjust as the kid grows.We both teach, and don't have a ton of money. This crib looks expensive (and is offered in the expensive shops) is very contemporary, and extremely functional. Love the bottom drawer. We store extra crib sheets and blankets in there. Small but perfect for incidentals.So glad target sells the crib. Great price. Top notch product. We feel like we definitely found a deal in the babyletto series. see less

My hubby wasn't too fond of the crib when I first showed it to him, but after months of unsuccessful searches, I went back to this crib. I convinced him that for our already cramped room this crib would be perfect...and I was right. I'm 5'2" so it's just the right height for me. I also love the extra drawer. The color is perfect, too. The instructions were easy to follow and my hubby put it together quickly. My 12 week old daughter slept for 8 peaceful hours her first night in it...and it has been fabulous since! see less

This crib is exactly what I was looking for, something that wasn't like every other spindle or sleigh crib out there. It is very basic and modern and fits wonderfully with the contemporary simple theme I have going throughout my entire house.The drawer at the bottom makes wonderful extra storage but when the mattress is in either of the top few positions you have to use a bed skirt to hide the drawer contents. The crib feels very sturdy but it did take me 1 1/2 hours to put together by myself.Overall I would recommend the crib to other parents and have had nothing buy compliments on it since I put it up in the nursurey see less
