We had the same pepper grinder for almost 20 years...one of the Lucite types with the silver adjustment ball on the top. It was really difficult to crank, didn't put out a lot of pepper, and left a pepper ring wherever you left it. I bought this yesterday, and I love it. It's smooth and quickly puts out a lot of pepper, and you can adjust the grind with a switch. It sitst upside down, so no pepper trail is left behind. It's great.
I was tired of using the type of pepper mill that is commonly found in"grocery" stores.I was very pleased with this "oxo" pepper mill. This mill has an adjustable button that goes from fine to coarse.I have not had any problems with it and it is very well made.
This is a terrific decanter for those who like to let their wines breath a bit before serving. It's also quite handy for wine tastings - which is why I now have 4 of them. At [this price], it can't be beat. Holds an entire 750ml with space to spare. Easy to wash and dry, as well.
We received this off of our wedding registry and it appears to be a great quality decanter, just like we were expecting. Riedel has not let me down yet. Such a good price for a decanter I know we will have for a long time. Very satisfied so far.
I gave this item as a gift to my neighbor, a fellow wine lover. I have the same type of decanter that I received as a gift myself, and I think it is quite lovely. Reidel is an exquisite brand!
We received this decanter as a housewarming gift.
It was kept in the china hutch until we took it out to use it.
Not sure if it was knocked or hit something but it was chipped
with a DEEP crack and splinter all down the neck. We can't even
recall anything touching it. We washed it before so I know it
wasn't cracked when we got it. The glass feels very flimsy, nothing
like the regular Riedel glasses I have used before. Very disappointed.
I have purchased a number of salt mills over the past 20 years, but this one is the best so far. It has a very nice, even grind, and is adjustable-- so you don't have huge coarse chunks when you are going for a fine dusting. You have to tip the mill upside down before you grind it, but the advantage is that it doesn't leak salt all over the place. We love it so much, we got one for the table and one for the stove top. I'm not so into the brushed nickel look, but the functionality of it sold me.
