The blades do not stay sharp for 1 year. 6 months is a more accurate description. If you try and make it last a year, you will get chafing on your face and neck. I have also had problems with the head falling off during use. I bought a cheap stiff bristle make up brush to sweep out the whiskers. I have never cut hair in my life and these clippers made it seem easy. I followed the instructions and used a longer guide to cut my son's hair. I did cut it a little shorter than I thought I would but that is really my own fault. One thing I didn't like is that the L and R ear guides didn't have lengths like the other guides so my son's hair is quite a bit shorter around the ears than the rest of his head. Overall, though, it took a difficult task and made it seem easy. It was ready to use right out of the box and was very user friendly. see less

Couldn't believe how well made this clipper is. The motor is super powerful. I have used 10 times already and the hair cuts it gives are perfect. I now get a cut every 10 days by my wife. I sport a high and tight military cut and keep it looking perfect with this clipper. What is even better is the clipper is made in the U.S.A. I have always used hair clippers for the men in my household. I had spent a lot of money on a set that we only had for about two years and it gave out. At the last minute before a wedding we bought this set- I figured it was cheap enough. These clippers work fantastic and I won't use anything else from now on. It has a soft grip and glides very smoothly. They are also very powerful and fast so I hardly have to do any work and it barely takes any time at all. I recommend them for beginners because of the color coded gaurds and especially for people who have been cutting hair a long time. see less

I have been using Norelco shavers since 1980. I have trouble with in-grown hair in my neck. Norelco used to make the black pro razor, and it was fantastic for the ones with in-grown facial hair. I bought this razor 15 days ago, and have not had one in-grown hair since. It normally takes me about 9 minutes to shave. The battery lasted 13 days. WOW. I would HIGHLY RECOMEND this razor. I just wish Norelco would furnish a carry case with this razor, and a battery power indicator. It has a light that comes on when the battery gets down to 5 minutes left, but I would like for it to have a light that shows exactly how much charge is in the battery. see less

I researched and selected the 830, and had an excellent first dry shave with it (the others over the years failed expectations on day 1). The 830, shaves great, but miss the travel pouch,(not Included). The charger cord seems a bit long, and is straight not coiled. The pivot head is a plus. I have had a beard for over 30 years. I have used many in the past, but the last one was this version type ie vacuum stubble design. Improvements include turbo boost, really works well, easier to clean just empty chamber not under blade cleaning, blade is oil free maintenace free, battery lasts more than all week. Just charge every 2 weeks for a few hours and you are done, so you can travel without the charge unit. Follows contour, tried a Braun and returned the unit, thought it might be better than my old norelco, but would prefer to keep old instead. see less

I've never had a very good experience with electric shavers. While they generally irritate my skin less than a razor, they also tend to leave hairs behind or not get close enough to the skin. I decided to give the PT730 a try, and after a few weeks of use I've been pretty impressed. POSITIVES - Good, close shave without having to make excessive passes with the head - Low irritation - Easy to clean - Battery seems to exceed the quoted 40 minute runtime per charge - Good build quality, doesn't feel voerly cheap - Charge indicator light NEGATIVES - No travel case, minimal accessories - The hinge for the sideburn trimmer feels a little flimsy, but works well So far, I'm pleasantly surprised by what I've gotten for the price. I've spent nearly twice as much on gimmicky wet shavers that underperformed in comparison. I hope the quality holds up over time. I had never used an electric razor before now, because I did not believe It would give me the results I got with a disposable razor. The Powertouch Cordless Razor has changed my views on shaving altogether. The flexible heads make it easy and comfortable to shave on a regular basis. I find myself shaving on a more consistent basis because it is so much quicker and easier. The cleaning of the Powertouch is as simple as running it under water and letting it dry, it really is that easy! I have shaved with it now for over a week and still have not needed to recharge it. The pop-up trimmer is a nice feature for keeping sideburns and goatees trimmed up. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product and do not anticipate having to replace it for a long time. I had shaved with electric razors for years, Norelcos in fact, but switched to a blade a few years ago since my electric wouldn't work if my face was wet or sweaty at all. I got tired of face nicks, which take forever to stop bleeding and purchased this to see if the wet capability made a difference. Boy, does it ever! In fact, it seems to provide a better shave if I use a little shaving cream. I have ditched the blade and now shave only with this. It's significantly better than my previous Norelcos. I have another brand that I purchased recently that I did not like at all, and I decided to pitch that and purchase another of these. It seems as though the blades move much faster on this trimmer than the other one I own, which makes it way easier to cut through any type of hair. And it has a great price!! I bought this in 2003 when I was traveling and forgot my battery powered Wahl. Needless to say, I have had 7 years of this trimmer performing consistently since then. I am purchasing a replacement because the battery only holds a charge now for a few days, rather than a few weeks as it did most of its life. I highly recommend this trimmer. Just oil it every month or two (oil included) and only charge it overnight when the battery gets low. see less

I received the Sensor 3D for a xmas gift from my son who had one. We both agreed that it was the best shaver we ever used. We both used it for 6 months and the blades became so dull we couldn't get a decent shave any longer. Norelco states the blades should remain sharp for 12 months. We have average beards so it disappointing to pay $160 every year for replacements. I'm trying to decide whether to order them or go back to my old razor. see less

I am very very satisfied with my F5790 for the comfort of the shave I get with it, and the way it fits my hand. I don't see a problem with the sound, it's no louder than any other shaver I've ever had (a couple of triple head and double foils) during my shaving experiences. The foil cover is not the best fit and no case came with it, but I have cases that it will fit in for travel so that isn't a problem. I guess I would just have to say I'm very happy with my investment, and the shave I get....very close ..leaves my face and neck soft,.........and it's easy to clean after shaving. see less

The Remington F5790, for me, approaches the ideal for an electric shaver. Ergonomically, it is easy to hold and maneuver without irritation to the skin. I can even shave areas on my neck without the severe irritation I get with some other shavers. It is affordable and is easy to use for traveling. Most Remington shavers have been quite loud but the F5790 has been relatively modest in its noise. While not quiet, it is an acceptable level of sound. It is easy to clean. If there is a weakness it is that no carrying case came with it. Fortunately, I had an old case that worked. Overall, shaving with the F5790 is a satisfying experience. see less

I received MT9105. the only one left in the store my wife of 52 years got for me, In the literature it showes in the instructions a short, long, and a little cleaning brush. You have to purchase a step up model to get these three inexpensive accessories, I guess Norelco needs the extra income. I am recovering from a rare type of cancer of my vocal cords and cartledge, only second case registered in 20 years, I had them removed in July and not proceding to recovery mode. I though it would help trimming around the small one in hole in my neck as regular razors do not work blade or electric. I tried the trimmer and it seems to do the job. All I can tell the difference in the three models is the 3 little plastic guards and bursh, big deal. see less

I would never have thought it possible that an electric shaver could give me such a smooth and close shave before trying this product. Using the Braun 7 for over a month made a believer out of me. No more nicks with a razor blade for me. Instead, I get a shave that is quick, neat and smooth as can be. I like the fact that the shaver has several settings which can be altered to fit my particular needs. I also think it's a great idea that I have the option of cleaning the razor myself or letting the stand on which it sits do it for me. When the machine cleans the razor, the shaver is left with an agreeable light lemon scent and it's totally sterilized. You can't beat that for easy of use! I love my Braun Series 7 shaver. After 6 months I still love it! I have a VERY tough beard with hair that grows in all directions. Never thought I could use an electric. I had tried electric razors before and they never worked for me. I would break out like crazy too. This Panasonic does a fantastic job! My face was a little raw the first 3 days I used it, but after my face got used to it I don't have skin issues anymore. It shaves almost as close as my [...], but it takes less time to shave and I can use it in the shower easier than my regular razor! Plus no shaving mess in the sink! Cleaning it is really slick. Only negative things I can say is that if my beard gets 3 days long it doesn't work so well my fault, and the trimmer will bite me every now and then. I just use my beard trimmer for that as I have a goatee. It does not do the edges very well, but I just clean those up with my [...] in a couple of swipes. ***EDIT***The below review is for model number ER-411. This model is number ER-415. They are different and don't cut the same. I don't recommend this model. I recommend tracking down model number ER-411. That one is a 5 star model.Pros - This is the best trimmer out there. And I've tried them all, even the really expensive ones. This trimmer cuts very close to the skin. As close as a regular electric shaver does. It even cuts that close from the top. You don't have to try to turn it to the side to get it to cut really close. None of the other trimmers out there cut this close. I've just purchased my third one of this same model. And I'm buying a back up in case they quit making it. Cons - Runs on AA battries and eats thru them like candy. Kinda fragile. If you drop it on the sink and it hits wrong, it bends the blades out of whack and they can't be fixed. Hence, that's why I'm buying my third one. I usually drop it about once every year or two. see less

Trims very close. Much better then the usual Wahl cord/cordless trimmer for 25 bucks. The T-Blade is wider and cuts closer. It cuts the wiskers down to about 1 or 2 days growth. Great for using an electric razor next. A little two wide for trimming my mustache. see less

I needed something to trim my beard and maintain it. After a lot of searching i wound up getting this one and it does a pretty good job. Its not perfect, the fittings are pretty cheap, there is no storage case to keep everything in, and the blade is a little too wide for trimming the top of my mustache. When I say the attachments are cheap I really mean it...they bend and cause uneven cutting of hair.Also, there are only 3 sizes for the attachments, and they are all very different. If you want to select the length of your beard hair, this is not a good choice. On the bright side, its a decent price and the blades are really sharp. It did a good job at cutting my hair fairly evenly and only missed a few pieces. I got sick of cordless trimmers dying every 8-16 months and losing power. Finally, the price at the store was [$] higher and they wouldn't match the online price....pretty upsetting! see less

I am now about 2yrs into my second unit. The first one lasted about 5yrs, then the batteries quit, which worked out fine because it was time to sharpen the blades. This shows that the designers were thinking! Almost all of the negative comments that I see here show that the user does not understand the product. It is a DAILY grooming product. I learned to use mine about 1 to 2 minutes, 3 times a week, and it runs like a champ. This trimmer is NOT to replace a once a month haircut. Use it at least 3 times a week. You do not shave your face once a month with a standard razor! Use this tool correctly, as designed, as it will serve you well. see less

I knew I was getting the iStubble for Christmas so I purposely didn't shave for over 2 weeks and had a pretty long beard. Purchased for my husband. He has no complaints about it at all! Charges fast, though he has thicker stubble and has to shave for longer than 3 minutes, so a full charge lasts just under 2 weeks. I'm converted. After being a disposable razor user all my life, I decided enough is enough. Too much money and time spent standing over the sink having no freedom while shaving. With the Braun Series 3 I have been able to reduce spending on blades and can move around while shaving. I have even been able to watch the morning news as I am not tied to the sink. The series 3 has made shaving more efficient and I love the close shave I get. This shaver is well built, heavy and solid. I envision shaving with this product for years to come. This shaver is great for my sensitive skin. Very close shave and my face does not itch after shaving. I used to use rotary shaver but this one is gentler than my last Norelco. Other than that It's a high quality, well built and well designed product. It does not feel flimsy when holding it. Ergonomic design is well thought through. I broke a plastic head on my rotary shaver once, and I was very disappointed with it's quality. I don't think it's going to happen with this shaver, because it seems very sturdy. Cleaning system is well design as well. Shaver smells really nice after cleaning, which is nice. It's very easy to use. All you need to do is, drop shaver in, and press the locking button. I used to forget to clean my rotary shaver, which effected the quality of the shave. Light indicators are well seen, but I wish that "clean" light would be just water drops blinking or else. It would make it easier to read. Bottom line is, you can not go wrong with this shaver. see less

This is the best trimmer I have ever owned. I bought this one to replace my Philips Norelco trimmer that started giving me trouble after a few years. I immediately noticed that the Wahl superceded the Norelco in quality, especially the blades and other moving parts that drive the blade. The Wahl is also much more powerful and provided a better consistent trim. The Li-Ion battery only requires one hour to charge vs. about 4 hours for NiMH batteries found in most other trimmers. One more thing is that its manufactured in the USA and does not cost any more than the trimmers manufactured in China. see less

Some/most Lithium ion devises can not be used while charging.The battery life on this trimmer is unbelivable. You just have to be a little smarter than M. Card to figure it out.I only give it 4 stars because there is no indicator light to tell you that it's charging or when charging is complete. see less
