We bought the bike for our parents for exercise. They're in their late 60's. The ride is great. The seated position is great. The only issue is hills. The front wheel won't always grip enough to pull the bike up unless you pedal very slowly. They still like it and it's great exercise. Maybe a better quality front wheel would help.
I purchased the Pro Ultimate online 3 weeks ago. Observations: 1) Assembly 80 min. 2) Can be used by adults (250 pound wt. limit); easily adjusted to my 55 height. 3) This bike is for flat terrain ONLY and maybe very gentle slopes. 4) NOT for endurance or high fitness riding; no gears! However, it does glide well. 5) A great neighborhood cruising-type bike, and perfect for what I wanted it to do: light to moderate exercise AND being able to run the dog alongside for exercise. 6) Disappointment: after less than 3 weeks of riding about 5 miles per week, both back tires had to be replaced. One blew out and was worn down to the mesh all along the center zone. The other was almost as bad. Both back tires were of very poor quality. Customer Service gave me a partial credit towards new tires from a local bike shop, but this did not quite cover the whole cost. However, I did not want to hassle with returning the bike, especially since I thought I would get the same awful tires.
It's very easy to maneuver, and stable when you're riding. My wife and son take turns riding on it. I always have people complimenting it when I'm riding it around the neighborhood. Overall a really nice bike. I've had it for a while, and haven't had any issues with it.
Setup was pretty easy, just take the items out of the box and put it together. You can use it for a while, but then things just start popping off. Nuts, bolts, brakes. It's a real piece of junk! Better save that 400 bucks and buy cheap tricycles without the fancy steering. In fact, you'll be able to buy 4 for that price. No idea why the thing costs so much if it breaks down in about 6 months. The engineering quality is pretty dreadful. Don't believe all of the videos and marketing out there. In this case, it is all hype to promote 3 wheels and a loose braking and steering system.
[..] THIS BIKE IS GREATLY FLAWED. THE STRUCTURE & DESIGN ONLY ALLOWS MINIMAL TRACTION. THE REAR TWO WHEELS OF THE BIKE ARE LOWER THAT THE FRONT WHEEL- IT MAKES NO SENSE! NO TRACTION!
BOUGHT THIS MODEL FOR MY WIFE. ATTEMPTED TO RIDE IT. IT'S APART & BACK IN THE BOX FOR RETURN. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
I really enjoyed this bike, I bought it for my son and he is on it every day. A great way for him to be outdoors and stay productive! I would recommend it to parents would want there kids to not be in their rooms all day. Helps them stay active in a safe and fun way! 5 stars no doubt.
1 cleverly designed. Simple mechanism for keeping the rear steering wheels in proper caster and camber alignment as the trike is steered.
2 steering effective
3 fun to ride, comfortable.
1. leaking valve inner tubes.
2. 2 bolt holes per wheel side for the flanges at each end of the front wheel axle not equal distance from the ground, making front wheel rotate in a plane approximately 3.5 degrees tilt.
Communicated within the 30 day warranty period, requesting a new front end assembly including the tube that contains the two welded arms that connect to the front wheel axle. The only thing I was able to get from the California representative was a replacement front wheet to try, it did not change anything.
Conclusion A well-designed, fun to ride trike needs better Quality Control.
This is my first tandem after bike riding 50 years. It arrived undamaged, and was OK to assemble except for the seats. There are two different stem post sizes with no explanation. Neither fit without bending tubes. Overall, I was impressed by the finish and parts for the price. Except the brakes... they are an old fashioned sidepull pads and weak for this size and weight over 400 pounds with 2 riders. To compound the problem the brake levers are on the ramshead bar front only and hard to reach. To shift you must move the brake levers, also awkward. It is a good buy, but needs a lot of getting used to and riding away from any traffic hazards due to the brakes.
