I bought this cooler to convert into a mash tun for making beer at home. It replaces a 48qt Rubbermaid cooler that I have used for years. The first two batches show it to be excellent for the task. It holds temperature extremely well and the shape makes for a more efficient sparge. Easy to clean. The thin wall where the drain passes through allows for a tight, sturdy, leak-free bulkhead fitting. Highly recommended. My only quibble is that the top pops off its hinge a little too easily. I own two of these. One for fishing and one for camping. The ice keeps for days while camping and all day for fishing even when adding warm fish to the mix all day long.The lid removes for easy cleaning but secure it with a strap if you have it in an open trailer or truck bed.No drain hole is a plus for me. First of all, stuff stays colder in ice water than in ice that is always drained. Second, no drain hole means no messy leaking of water in my car or tent. see less

I love the outer pockets and the bungee cords to hold things on the top. It has enough room to hold all that we have ever needed it to. It is easy to get around, by rolling it, or carrying it, with the handles. The only downfall is that the lid does not lock down. see less

I would not recommend since there is no way to lock the top. If you are pulling the cooler on rollers and it tilts - the top could easily open and items could fall out. I would not buy this style again because of the top. However, I like everything else about it. see less

Bought this before a big outdoor wedding weekend. What a lifesaver it was for all of us!! There was no air conditioning for the weekend so the cooler acted as our mini fridge, keeping water and refreshments ice cold. It was compact and easy to maneuver. This cooler looks like it is perfect. It is a great size and opens and closes easily. The one major issue being that it can not keep anything cold for long. Ice will melt quickly if it is hot or you are in direct sunlight. The problem is the thin plastic top of the cooler. There is no insulation and the heat is transferred easily through. Feel for yourself at the Target stores, and get the small cube one instead. see less

This is a portable cooler that lives in our car all through summer. It sits way in the back and keeps our food and drinks ice cold even on the hottest of days. If you are planning a day trip, run the cooler in the house on the mains power for the night before to cool it down, load it with your chilled drinks and fresh food and then take it to the car and plug it in. It makes a small hum from the cooling fan, but you really don't hear it in the car. If you are going to stop in the hot sun for any length of time and the power to the igloo is off, take out what you need 20 minutes earlier so the remainder stays cool until the power is on again. Don't open the igloo and let warm air in. You must remember, this is NOT a full size domestic fridge. Don't ask it to do what a major appliance cannot do.My Igloo also stands in as a temporary domestic cooler for parties.Target.com had the best price. There were no bins/dividers like I've seen with other units.I gave this unit to a family member as a gift and therefore have not tested it's thermal capabilities, but I've read other reviews that state it does very well thermally (keeping things cool). see less

I purchased this water cooler for the Housekeeping & Laundry department in the hotel I work for. The basement gets incredibly hot with the dryers and mangle running all day. After doing some research on different coolers, I decided on the MaxCold. It really does keep the ice for several days at a time. Well they have changed the material they use on the sides, and now where the strap is sewn on the side rips very easily. The 1st gen cooler used fabric material for the sides of the cooler where the strap was stitched and still holds 4yrs later, but the 2nd gen of this cooler "I needed a new one after the zipper broke" the sides are made of vinyl and where the straps connect. It rips if u have a 12pk or equivalent wieght from the stitching. I use this cooler "1st gen" for 4 yrs and was hoping to find luck in the 2nd gen. No such luck! Igloo said it was a design flaw but I bought 3 of them and returned them all. Now the search continues. see less

I have used many "lunch pale" coolers before as I travel constantly for work. Eating on the road is aweful for you so I prefer to pack my own lunches. I have used this extact model since April of 2010 now and it is fantastic. It holds a great deal, it stays cold all day and has been fantastic. Only after 2.5 years am I looking to replace it because it has become well worn and traveled as you can imagine. I'm going to replace it with the EXACT same one. I am a Disabled Veteran who enjoys camping. I needed a way to keep things cool for a long period of time I did MUCH research and decided on the Yukon. It was in my opinion better than the Yeti. Igloo has been trusted by my family for generations and the Yukon not only met my expectations but surpassed them! I received my Yukon 50 about a week ago. Unboxing it found a very well constructed Cooler it looks and feels like it is one piece. The drain plug is designed so that it is easy to use and drains very quickly. I tested this cooler for five days and even after five days the ice was still almost full and the contents ice cold, I have had several coolers over the years but nothing to compare to the YUKON!!! I got this cooler after researching all options and hearing my Father and Brother talk about a Yeti. After seeing a Yeti and looking at all its flaws such as a small drain plug and handles that could rip I wanted a cooler that fixed this and I found it with the Igloo Yukon. The molded handles are built tough. I know they will not give out of me when I am carrying a full load. I also love the oversize drain plug for easy draining. I no longer need to wait or tip my cooler to drain out the old water. This baby is perfect. I took it out to the deer lease to put this head to head with my familys cooler and to be honest the Yukon held ice longer and kept the meat and beer colder by almost 2 days. Its rugged tough design has made me a fully believer and I am a lifelong fan. As you all know Igloo is made in the USA and is a brand we have come to trust growing up. We bought this cooler for the R,V. It works just as advertised, keeps ice three to four days. Size is excellent also, tall bottles and cans fit in with no problems. The actual product color is closer to teal than the blue in the picture. Barely shown in the picture is an additional handle on the left side of the bag. I love that the top handle clips open and closed. I clip it on to my school bag so I won't have to worry about carrying multiple bags or losing my lunch. The insulation keeps food cool, not cold, for at least four hours. I love the included water bottle. The exterior pocket isn't very wide, but can still hold a lot of stuff while staying closed. Sometimes the zipper kinda gets stuck around the corners, not caught up in the insulation, just stuck on its own track, while annoying this isn't very bothersome. Absolutely great considering how cheap it is. see less
