I've owned this pitcher for years. I didn't realize how good I had it until we decided to replace it, thinking newer was better. The replacement was a gift and another brand. The other brand is bulkier, taking up more counter space, has a permanent filter, and a glass pitcher. The glass pitcher is OK, but the permanent filter is horrible and the machine is very hard to clean. I'm buying another Mr. Coffee as a gift to myself!!
BTW, this 2 quart version is much better than the 3 quart version in design and ease of use and cleaning.
The only thing I would like to see different is a glass pitcher option because everything I own goes in the dishwasher regardless of labels, and the pitcher will only fit on the bottom rack.
I've had my original Mr. Coffee tea maker for years. It has seen a lot of use and is stained from the black ice tea my husband loves. When I saw this new version, I thought I'll get that one for my herbal teas. I love it, I'm on my third pitcher of tea this week. The pitcher is much sturdier, maybe glass or a hard, thick, lightweight plastic. Although I have not made any, I'm thrilled that I can make loose teas as well. And the water reservoir is covered when you swing the basket part back over the the system when it is not in use. This is great to keep out dirt and debris. My only negative is that I'm having trouble finding where to buy an additional pitcher. My husband keeps eyeing my new toy, so I think I'm going to need one.
This is our second ice tea maker, same kind. nice to have an extra cafe in storage in case of breakage. Our last ice tea maker lasted 3 years. Makes great ice tea using loose tea. It is easy to clean.
got this tea maker for my son house warming party and it was a hit he love it ..............it was the only gift he use right then and make everyone different favors of the tea and at that time it was just a priceless moment ......................
