So far, things have gone well. The can itself is very sturdy and the pedal appears to work very well. I have seen a lot of other reviews on step cans and people mention how they eventually break. For now, I'm pretty confident with it!I really like the oval profile because we have it in the kitchen along a wall/walkway and I think it keeps out of the way even if it's only a couple inches. see less

We use this as a diaper pail and it keeps the smell contained. The only downside is that we have to empty it every other day because the size is fairly small but we like it a lot and it looks nice. see less

I got this for a cat food container and I've been using it for about 5 months. It works great. The lid gets opened and closed twice a day and I haven't had any trouble with it. For under ten bucks, you can't beat it! see less

We've had this garbage can in the nursery for over a year now, possibly closer to two. We wanted a garbage can with a lid so our baby & toddler would not grab anything out of it. Used to throw garbage and wet disposable diapers in this with a tall kitchen bag as a liner, a great fit. Now using as a pail for cloth diapers. It will hold a lot. I do diaper laundry every day though and so far this doesn't retain smells. I clean the pail with vinegar and water and don't yet have a pail liner. The latch has gotten stuck to the lid a few times and the spring hinge has popped out too but I've been able to fix it and get it working again every time. For the price it's a great value. Easy to open & close with one hand. Even my 3 yr old boy can open and close with ease but yes it gets stuck sometimes. I still like it! see less

I wonder if my wife even tried the lid in the store before buying it. It worked sporadically the very first day she brought it home. Now it won't latch at all. Total failure. And of course we didn't keep the receipt. DO NOT BUY! see less

I wanted a diaper pail but all the fancy ones seem too much and you have to buy special bags. I got this so I could use my grocery bags. It works great. It's a little smaller than I thought but I don't think I read the size before getting it. It works well for diapers. When it is full the diapers should go out anyway! :-) see less

I bought this garbage can to go in my bedroom and I am very pleased with it. It's large enough I can fit all my bedroom trash in it and it isn't so big that it becomes a permanent noticeable fixture in my room, like a bed or dresser. The stainless steel finish gives it versatility with my decor and and makes it easy to clean. I have been using it almost daily for just over a month and have had no problems what-so-ever with it. see less
