After hesitation from reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance and order this tv for our bedroom. All I can say is, chance worth taken. This tv is great! Arrived quickly, in perfect shape and it works just as it should. Picture is great, especially with the HD hookup with our cable, and the best thing is there is a surround sound option, and it sounds like you have an expensive surround sound hooked up! Our directv remote was easily programmed to it and it looks great either on the base or mounted to the wall. Ordered the mount from Target also, it is awesome! Very happy with this! see less

I bought this TV online. When it came it was easy to set up. I am not really obsessed with picture quality, but this was just terrible. I noticed that the picture was worse on some channels then others. There were diagonal lines running through the picture on a large block of channels. THE GOOD. Excellent picture quality for this class of TV. THE DECENT. The sound is decent. Small thin TVs usually get poor ratings in terms of the sound quality, but I feel that is unfair. When you have a TV as thin as a tablet computer, you can't expect sound much better than a tablet computer. While there is hardly any bass, and I wouldn't dare call it theater sound, the volume does get loud and you will not have any trouble hearing it. Most will use this TV for a bedroom or kitchen and it is sufficient for that. THE BAD. I had buggy problems with this TV. My setup had the TV hard-wired to cable television, though I was not using a cable box... I relied on the TV tuner to change channels. Unfortunately, my channels kept disappearing and I had to keep going through the channel scan process over and over... and it became very annoying. I ended up returning the TV. If using a cable/satellite box, this may not be an issue for you. see less

I tried writing a review on this TV before, but it was rejected, I think because of the expletives. So let me just say that this bleeping thing is a bleeping piece of bleep. I had read bad reviews of this brand, mostly about the sound quality. But I'm no audiophile, and I just wanted it for my bedroom, so I thought, "How bad could it be?" O. M. G. It's so indescribably bad. Here's an experiment - plug your headphones into your computer and turn the sound all the way up. Then walk across the room, getting as far from the headphones as possible. Hear that? THAT'S what the sound on this TV is like. I'm not kidding. It's inconceivable to me that anyone could approve this for the market. You can get ok sound by plugging in a pair of external speakers, but the picture quality is so sub-par that it's really not worth it. I stupidly threw all my packing materials away or else I'd have returned this the same day. So now I live with a daily reminder of my poor decision-making skills. Sigh. see less

My advice.... NEVER buy an APEX TV. I bought one for my bedroom less than two years ago and the sound already went out. Googled it and it looks like a chronic problem with this product. The company isn't willing to resolve the problem. I will NEVER EVER buy another APEX product. see less

I bought this tv on black friday for [$] to replace my dead monitor for my bedroom computer. It's main use is for my son to watch tv on at bedtime and play video games, as well as me to surf the web or watch movies while laying down. I think it has a great HD picture, games and movies look incredible. I will admit that the sound isn't that great, but I have a [...] computer surround system hooked up to the computer, so I don't even use the tv speakers. I am very pleased with the quality of the picture and the features for what I paid for this thing, so nothing to complain about here. see less

For the price this is a great LED! I got it today.2 HDMI inputs, pc input, a/v input. 1080p res. Come on- a great deal! Excellent picture. Sound is fine. If you want more get a separate sound unit. It's a 24" unit, not a home theater. The remote is fair, nothing great. I'm using Dish Network hooked up by HDMI and a Blu Ray hooked up using standard RCA cables. Gotta get another HDMI cable tomorrow. see less

This is the second one of these I've purchased. The first I bought at Target, six years ago & that one still works as well as the day I took it out of the box. I bought both of these for my kids rooms, one in each. The picture quality is great, actually looks better than my 60" Vizio downstairs in the living room. My boys have had a cheapy model but it kicked the bucket this past week. I was faced with, what I consider to be a tough question; Do I buy anotner cheap model & hope for the best? If so, which one? After reading what seemed like a thousand reviews, I determined that the old adage is correct; You get what you pay for. I decided to go with a Phillips again & couldn't be happier. Great TV, great picture, outstanding value. You'll pay a few more dollars up front with this model but you'll save yourself ten fold that amount of headache, aggravation & remorse later on. see less

I was looking for a smaller TV for my home office and found this one on sale. I did some online research and purchased the set the next day. The picture quality is great but, more importantly, the speakers are really good, too. Since this will not be connected to an external sound system, that was a big factor for me. I purchased this TV on 04052013 for about [$]. It was for my boys room, for the price, the picture quality and sound is awesome. The set up was quite easily. No need to purchase HDMI wires to get HD quality picture. In no time the children were watching HD TV, the picture quality is a lot crisper than SD. It does have a bit of funny smell if it is on too long, but I think it might be ecause it is a new TV. Overall I am happy with my purchase. see less

This tv has a better picture and sound than a Vizio I am returning. I think it is a great value for the price. The picture is very good and can be adjusted with a number of settings - only thing missing is back light level. However, the black level is very respectable, and needed only a slight tinkering on brightness, contrast and color level to achieve a very good picture. Sound is very good through headphones. There are bass and treble controls, or even equalizer that can be custom set. One cannot expect high quality sound out of the small speakers in these smaller tv's I cannot yet comment on the life expectancy of this tv - I will amend as time goes on if needed. see less

I've read a couple of reviews on this TV stating that they die within 6 months to a year. I purchased mine in April or May of 2011, and it's probably got the best picture out of the three LED TV's that I have. The others are a Sharp and an LG. I have not had any issues with intermittent picture or sound. I have not noticed the quality diminish, nor experienced any random problematic occurrences. Overall it has been a great TV and I would recommend it to anyone. see less
