This is my second Vizio, First new one though I bought a 26 inch LCD second hand lasted about a year sold it Picture is spectacular even though its only 720P not 1080P. The LED makes it so much brighter when you watch Lost on Netflix it looks awesome. You will see every blade of grass and the sweat off their foreheads. I got an inexpensive Antenna and I get 9 channels where I live. I'll be getting a Blu-Ray soon that upconverts DVDs soon. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the remote seems to have a very small angle of operation. You have to hold the remote a certain way for it to connect with the IR sensor. And yes I did put in fresh batteries. I read one review on here said the TV was terrible because the batteries were defective! Sometimes TV will in warehouse for a little then sit in the store for moths before they sold. The batteries packages with the remote will expire! I guess that person shows how dumb they are. I purchased this TV for my bedroom. I had a old SD Orion TV in there for several years and finally decided to get rid of it and upgrade to an HDTV. This TV was very easy to set up, all I did was take it ou thte box, attach the base, the plug and cable wires and in no time the TV was ready for viewing. I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone. For my bedroom the sound is fine, however if I was using it for a my living room I would definitely suggest getting a sound bar and an even bigger for e.g. screen 46 and up TV. I have noticed the difference with commercial quality that are not broadcast in HD and instead are in SD, HD is the way to go, love it, love it, love it. I did not need any HDMI wires to be able to watch HD quality programming. There is not gaming that will be played on this TV so I do not think I will need to HDMI cords. I have had this TV for little over 2 weeks now and I have not had any issues. I will update late if there are any changes, but so far, so food. see less

This TV has very high ratings. It has been great so far! I had been pricing this TV with Walmart, who gave me the run around in several different stores ...how they could not match online prices, it was "in stock" but not on the floor...so they were not sure if they could sell it, etc. Their electronics department was sarcastic, rude, and could not answer my questions about the TV. I went to the nearest Target...after several Walmart stops...and I found the TV for the price I wanted, and I was in and out of the store in 20 minutes. I will go to Target for electronics in the future. I wasted a week when I could have purchased the TV at Target in 20 minutes. see less

This is a solid TV. The picture quality is great, no irritating lights on the cabinet, plenty of of HDMI inputs, the built in WiFi and access to TV streaming apps is also great. I would recommend this TV to anyone. The sound quality is actually very good for a TV, it got a 4 star because it has stereo TV speakers. When connected to any 5.1 or 7.1 channel digital audio receiver, it becomes 5 stars. see less

I was not specifically looking for a Smart TV, but wanted purchase a good LED TV with good features. I currently don't have a need for the Smart TV features, but I wanted to have the option in the future. Picture quality is great. Good from any angle and it's just as good as or better than what you would expect on a TV in this price range. Sound quality, out of the box, was not great. I found I didn't like the surround sound setting it was on, and after changing a few things, I don't have an issue with the sound quality. The sound could be better, and that's why I can't give it 5 stars. The remote is below par, but not a factor for me. I would hope Vizio would design a new remote, so it would match the quality of their TV's. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this model to anyone. I would recommend a universal remote to use with this TV, to replace the provided one. see less

I just picked this TV up so this is a short term review. I was looking to upgrade our old TV. Set up was easy however I am still getting use to navigating all the features. Picture is crisp and when watching football it does not break up like it did with my old TV a 37" Element 720P 60Hz which we bought in 2007. Sound quality is lacking so I highly recommend hooking it up to a surround sound system. Overall it is worth the money spent I am very happy with this purchase. see less

I purchased this TV a little over a week ago for my living room. I consider the 47" and 50" however after careful consideration, I settled on getting this TV. I also did not want a Smart TV at all. I am happy with my purchase, the size of the TV is perfect for my 20 sq foot living room. Again, I am please with my purchase, the picture quality is beautiful. Each HD program is so much crisper, when I compare side to side with any SD program. I am planning on getting a sound bar or a surround sound system. So far I have no complaint about this TV, set up was very easy. I will give another update later. see less

We did a lot of research online before purchasing this TV, and have not been disappointed! Our first order arrived broken, and we wasted an hour with Vizio tech support who wanted to send a repair man 6 days out. The next call was to Target CS, and they were amazingly helpful in setting up the return, even making it easy to get the coupon we'd used on the first purchase - and of course no longer had - applied to the new order. With a few recommended tweaks to settings - check the reviews on a certain popular online-only retailer...sure glad we bought from Target though considering the above - this TV looks amazing! The built-in speakers are impressive enough to put off buying a sound bar. We've played with the 3D and other features, and without getting technical, I will just say I doubt there is another TV on the market right now that offers this level of performance, features, and affordable price point in one package. I highly recommend this TV for anyone looking in this range. see less

We bought our TV in December and we are daily amazed at the exceptional quality and value of our new VIZIO TV. The family was so excited putting the VIZIO TV up on our wall and now our 12 year old tube 32" TV looks like a dinosaur from generations past. The VIZIO call center was extremely responsive and provided phenomenal customer service when we called for set up assistance. Thank goodness I didn't base my purchase decision on the poor reviews from this site. Those poor folks must have gotten a bad lot. I absolutely love this TV. The picture detail is crisp and the colors are brilliant. The picture is so crisp that a recent guest thought that it was 3D. I'm also very impressed by the VIA apps that come with the TV. Not only does it include the typical pay movie services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, etc, but it also has around 50 other applications, including Facebook, You Tube and free move service, Crackle. Brilliant picture, Smart TV and low price, I don't believe that this combo of features can be beat! One other thing, don't forget to use your Red Card because you'll get 5 percent off. see less

I just purchased this from the Target store and A plus across the board. The item was packed very well and install was super easy. I would suggest getting the fiber optic cable for the audio and is a clear line and easy to hide. We have always used RCA home systems and after purchasing this, we will never go back to RCA products. see less

I purchased this to supplement our TV's poor built-in sound-- a somewhat common problem among flat screen TVs. While the sound bars are out in the store to "demo" them-- it's impossible to listen to them with 50 Televisions all looping Target commercials at the same time. While setup was simple, sound quality is disappointing. Unfortunately, the sound bar itself doesn't sound much better than the TV itself. The subwoofer adds bass, but bass doesn't do much good when speech and dialogue still sounds like it's coming out of a set of tin cans. I've had 2.1 speaker systems for PCs that cost 1/4 the price and sounds 3x as good. see less

We moved in to a new house with 18' ceilings and the sound coming from our Vizio 42" LCD flat screen just wasn't cutting it. The Vizio 2.1 32" sound bar with wired sub-woofer fills the room, and entire house, with deep, rich sound. Now, we really wish we had gotten the sound bar with our TV. But then, we wouldn't have gotten in on a great sale at Target back then! see less

I have had the VSB211 Vizio Sound Bar with subwoofer for about four weeks now. It's very simple to set up. I use it with my 40' LCD flat screen Samsung. I didn't want to get a large or expensive home theater system... just something to give me more sound. I was surprised how well it worked. It has enough volume. The subwoofer is passive so it doesn't give a great deal of bass, but it does the job. I'm glad I got this product. I would have rated every category 5 stars, but I haven't had it long enough to know it's reliability. Other than that, I am very satisfied. see less

We bought our Vizio sound bar and subwoofer Nov 20th and everything seemed to work fine. The sound quality of the bar itself was nice. It provided detailed sound. However, last night, which is a little less than 3 months after purchase, the sound became staticky, in the middle of our movie. Since then, the sound bar has had static. In addition to that, the subwoofer has been cutting in and out. My boyfriend noticed this since the date of purchase. Luckily, this issue occurred before the 90 day return period. After reading reviews and seeing how people have also had the subwoofer issue, we have decided not to exchange this item for the same one, instead we will be going with another brand that would be [$] more. see less

I bought a 55" element and the picture was horrible so i took it back and spent a little more money and got this tv, i am very pleased that i did that. It has awesome sound, the picture is sweet, when i have people over they ask if its a 3D when movies are playing.. i would recommend to anybody. And a little advise i would recommend watching the tv on display before spending money, the element i took back was not on a display, just was a great price but not worth the bad picture.. see less

The E470VA delivers an amazing picture and a sleek casing! This TV has stable full sound, too -- just know your sound settings. To avoid commonly reported sound glitches, turn off the SRS TruVolume sound effect, as it causes unpredictable volume fluctuations on some shows and channels. For the fullest and most stable sound performance, turn off TruVolume and TruSurround sound features and set Bass to 65 and Treble to 80. You will be impressed with these speakers at that setting--though I do like the SRS TruSurround for some shows. For satellite cable users who report a "sound cutting out" issue, simply get your satellite remote and go to the Audio Output menu screen and change these settings. Set Volume Leveling to "Disable," Decoder to "PCM only," and Mode to "RF." Presto! Sound will never cut out or get out of sync again. Ignore the odd setup glitch where TV turns off, as it never occurs beyond first day. Happy viewing! Best 47-inch 120 Hz HDTV for the price anywhere. see less

Simply put, the Vizio E470VA is the best 47" 120Hz 1080p HDTV deal anywhere. It is truly comparable with the [other brand] versions, but for much less money. This model delivers an amazing picture, dependable sound (once you apply the correct sound settings - see below), and sleek casing. The price is unbelievable.Everyone raves about the picture on the E470VA, but the sound is very good and stable, too, if you know the correct settings. To get robust sound and avoid commonly reported sound glitches, buyers must apply correct sound settings for both the TV and the cable box. For example, the widely reported "volume fluctuation" issue on the E470VA is resolved simply by turning the SRS TruVolume sound effect to "off." (The SRS TruVolume over-reacts on some channels and some shows, so you have to use it sparingly. I keep it off most of the time.) Although a matter of preference, I also recommend turning SRS TruSurround to "off," as you will get a more robust full sound that way. For the fullest, most dependable sound performance, turn both of the SRS features to "off," and then set the Bass to 65 and the Treble to 80. You'll be quite impressed with the performance of these speakers at that setting. They pump out full, dependable sound. If you like, you can use the SRS features, but only sparingly, and on select channels and shows. There is just too much signal variation coming from todays networks, and the SRS TruVolume over-reacts to the signal variations, resulting in volume fluctuation. For your general viewing, keep it turned off.Finally for all the [satellite] users who experience a "sound cutting out issue" with the E470VA, simply get your [satellite] remote and go to the "Audio Output" menu screen to change the [satellite] settings. You should set "Volume Leveling" to "DISABLE," and set "Decoder" to "PCM ONLY," and set "Mode" to "RF." If you apply these [satellite] sound settings, you will never have the sound cut out mysteriously on your Vizio. It's all about the settings. Remember, your Vizio has to interact with cable box sound settings, and so you have to get these sound settings right. This is the best 120Hz HDTV on the market for the price. No question about it. Just know your sound settings. see less

I bought this sound bar in August to augment the weak sound coming from my HD TV speakers. Produces an amazing, booming sound quality that completely fills my living room. The surround sound is further enhanced with sub woofer control that increases the bass and adds another dimension to the sound coming from the speakers. At maximum volume the sound becomes distorted, but maximum sound levels are way beyond normal listening levels. Works well with gaming and music too! I would definitely recommend this sound bar for anyone looking to have stereo sound that matches the quality of watching high definition television programming. see less

I purchased this TV on 04052013 for about [$]. It was for my boys room, for the price, the picture quality and sound is awesome. The set up was quite easily. No need to purchase HDMI wires to get HD quality picture. In no time the children were watching HD TV, the picture quality is a lot crisper than SD. It does have a bit of funny smell if it is on too long, but I think it might be ecause it is a new TV. Overall I am happy with my purchase. see less
