I loved my ProHeat 2X for several years, yet I decided it was time for something more powerful for my parents carpets. They hadn't been cleaned in nearly 10 years. The Big Green was exactly what I needed. I've purchased and gone thru several stick vacuums thru the years, and this Bissell is the best. It is powerful, picks up everything, easy to clean,and has a larger capacity to hold dirt, Even just having the wire to recharge it makes it more convenient compared to the ones that have the additional stands you have to use. The charge lasts a long time, and I have very large rooms. I haven't once run low or out of power. I highly recommend this stick vacuum, or any other other item Bissell makes for pets. I have their Little Green Machine for pets, and it is the best on cleaning carpeting. see less

I love this product. I have mainly hard flooring and a long haired kitty. It works wonders. The only down side I have with the product itself is that the battery life could be a little longer or make it where it can run off of a cord as well as cordless. You do have to keep the filter really clean but that isn't a problem for me as I clean it every time I use it. I love the swivel and the button that drops the handle to get under neath things. I like the lightness of it also. I have a regular Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vac as well and it works great on carpet but not hard flooring and it is very heavy. see less

After vacuuming and deep cleaning our carpets, my husband said they looked like new. I agree & am especially happy with the way the heavy traffic areas turned out. (We have a dog, 2 cats & live in the woods w/ sandy soil.) The house has never felt more clean. It is helpful that all the pieces come apart & are easy to clean/rinse (if you have a utility sink). A huge plus is that the Bissell cleaning products are biodegradable so I don't have to sacrifice the environment for having a clean home. Totally satisfied! see less

WOW. I love this thing. We just bought a home with wall to wall in both bedroom, on the stairs and in the hall. I am not a fan of wall to wall, as it is hard to keep clean, but it's brand new carpet so we're keeping it. I needed something more powerful than my small red plastic 38 dollar different brand vac, and this seemed reasonably priced and got good reviews. It's wonderful. I had used a shampooer to wash the carpets when we moved in, I thought they were sort of clean. In 10 minutes of cleaning with this machine I FILLED the canister doing a 3x8 ft hall,and one 9x17 bedroom. The canister is HUGE, so that says alot. SO much nasty crud came out. I can't wait to see what I get out of the baby's room and off the stairs tomorrow. Amazing. If it pulled THAT much out of new looking carpet I bet it would do even more on older carpet. I've rented a carpet cleaning machine from the grocery store twice a year for five years now. It costs around 50 dollars with each rental, plus the time it takes to haul the thing back and forth. I've been looking into buying a carpet cleaner for sometime, but spending an arm and a leg is a great deterret. When I saw this machine, at this price, with all of these great reviews, it was like a match made in heaven. My cleaner arrived last night and I cleaned all of my carpeted spaces in the same time it takes for me to vacuum them. I am thrilled with the results, and with the machine. It's incrediably light weight and easy to use. It's easy to clean too, and I was able to clean two bedrooms, a hallway and large great room with just two tanks of water/solution. I love it! And I'll probably use it again this weekend! see less

I dont use the cleaning solution because of allergies. Just fill tank with warm water and a teaspoon of baking soda. Then clean again with only sparkling water in the tank. it pulled a ton of old soap out of the carpet in my new apartment. The carpet dries in a couple hours beautifully. I want to buy a couple more water tanks, so I can swap solutions as I clean. (Keep sparkling water in the frig to keep it fizzy). I dump dirty water in a bucket as I clean. to save trips see less

I have a senile, incontinent cat with chronic diarrhea. She quit using her litter box for number two several months ago. I have the puppy pads all over the place but she still manages to find a spot on the carpet to go. I was hand cleaning this and after the accidents piled up I would drag out my full size carpet cleaner and go over all the spots. I bought the SpotBot Cleaner and use once or twice a day. I check the carpet in the morning for accidents, wipe up what I can with a paper towel, place the SpotBot over the mess, push the button and walk away. I needed something that would do stairs in a rental that I live in. I was amazed at how well they cleaned up. The real test was the Berber carpet in the living room that was stained from the previous tenants with gum and other marks. Imagine my surprise when this little machine actually pulled the gum up and I can once again see the natural mat of the Berber carpet. A bit of a pain to do the carpet on my hands and knees, but the results were completely worth it. I had used a rug doctor previously on this same carpet and it did not do half the job the Bissell little green did. see less

I used this on a piece of carpet I keep as a "welcome mat" and on the steps, and this Little Green did the job. I couldn't believe the difference. I have to say, I was skeptical that this would remove the months old stains on my carpet...but it totally did. I have a dog who had quite a few accidents while being house trained, and although I had used other pet carpet cleaners there were still stains! Oh Bissell, I am not one to EVER write reviews however, I had to write regarding an incident that occurred with my dog last night. Apparently my poor pup had 3 serious bouts of stomach issues around 5 a.m. and managed to leave 3 large piles of something unidentifiable. Two were embedded in my daughters pink shag carpet and one on a low pile cream colored carpet in front of my eldest son's room. Now, I am not very good with these types of accidents. Area rugs and towels typically get thrown away in our home when this occurs. I know, I know I am sure you are thinking "TMI"-too much information about your dog and life lady. So my first thought was ..."Oh no I am going to have to replace this carpet" I immediately jumped online and started researching steam vacuums so I could run out and purchase something and get the "issue" dealt with in a timely manner. I was looking for something portable as our home is a bit on the larger side and I wanted to be able to easily carry it up and down the stairs, etc.. All reviews lead me to the Bissell Spot Clean. It took two Large Box retail stores to find it. as the first one was out of stock on this item. I Bought it, brought it home and with a little effort it seriously removed all 3 stains! I actually could not believe it. My children came home from school and my oldest said "wow, I cannot believe that actually came out" This saved me both the expense of a professional steam cleaner and/or a trip to the carpet store. Thank you Bissell!!!! Now if you could only solve my dog's shedding and dog hair issue! My current two vacuums, one which was remotely expensive, DO NOT seem to get the matted dog hair off of the few shag rugs in our home, regardless of everyday vacuuming. I wanted something to clean the upholstery that wasn't just a surface clean. I have tried sprays and wipes which really didn't do that great a job. The sprays seamed to attract more dirt. I have researched and read so many reviews. So, I decided go ahead and spend the money to buy this unit. I am so glad I did. I regularly vacuum my furniture, but knew that it needed more. Finally, a quality product that does what it says it will. I've been wanting a product like this for a long time. I took it out of the box and it worked perfectly. I ended up cleaning the bathroom and kitchen and part of the sunroom in one afternoon. The steam was not producing as well as it had originally and it made the room smell bad any time I used it. I installed the new filter and it fixed all of the problems. I know some want to knock this cleaner but I have had mine at least 11 years. I hated the old bladder container so I hope they have a newer better container when I buy a new one, but over all it has been a very good cleaner. I bought mine in 2003 and it is just now acting a bit cloggy in 2013 so I guess it is time for a new one, but I got my money's worth out of it as I have cleaned many a room/stairway/sofa with it. The carpet dries pretty well afterwards and you can use almost any cleaner with it. see less

I ve had mines since 12/2010 and it worked fine. I have a small dog that misses the wee pad at times and a Daughter whos hair wraps around the brush after a while... I have had to take the brush off, to remove the hair at times... Now the water doesn't spray out the bottom, i assume the hole is clog since the spray attachment does work. I found a suggestion on the site that you should fill the tank with PLAIN warm/hot water and flush the system after use with cleaning formula / fluid as this may dry over time and cause clogging. All in All.. i was very happen for 2 years Hope this comment helps for the next person see less

I am very particular about cleaning my home. I have bought two comparable uprights. They both performed poorly, both had pet hair tools and bagless. I reviewed the Bissell in Consumer Reports and saw the review was highly recommended as well as a best buy. Purchased on 03/02/13 and could not believe how much much was left behind from previous vacuums. Initially, the dirt container had to be emptied numerous times, but eventually it got the dirt/pet hair up. My carpet looks like a new carpet every time I vacuum. With a dog, and 2 cats, my home must be vacuumed 2-3 times a week. Cleaning the dirt container and filters is a dream. see less

Anyone looking for a wet-vac? I WAS until this morning. HIGHLY recommend the Bissell 2x found at Target. Online it states 199.99 -- however, at store it is on CLEARANCE for 169.99. Used my Target 'red card' and saved an additional 5percent! If you have dogs, if you have children, if you have sloppy relatives -- get this machine. I cleaned the floors yesterday with the 'old' Bissell -- this one 'showed' me what the other was missing ... it was gross, but boy do I feel better about my floors! And the house smells FRESH...not stale. It cleaned my carpets better than Stanley Steamer! see less

I wasn't sure how to get it steaming. Quickly figured it out. There are no buttons, so you don't have many options. Now i'm just disinfecting the house like nobody's business! I bought this without a lot of high expectations but ended up very pleased. This mop is simple, easy to clean and use and very effective. It heats up quickly and cools down fast. The pads are easy to wash in the sink so they can be used again. I can pull this steam cleaner out and have it ready to go in under a minute. The mess is cleaned and the pad washed out in another 3 or 4. The floor is dry again almost immediately. The whole thing is much faster than a mop. see less

Okay, first off, I'm a guy. Sorry for generalizing, but what that means is that I really don't notice dirty floors unless they are worse than the shed, and even with kids that doesn't happen often. Nonetheless, I know my wife notices, and I know that the best route to her heart is through a little surprise housecleaning. Enter this steam mop (which I was awfully skeptical about), because if there's one task we both hate, it's scrubbing the floors. As it turns out, it really works. It does such a good job on our hardwood floors that even I can see the difference! Better yet, doing the whole main level (all hardwood) was a one-beer job. And my wife? Let's just say that coming home from work and finding shiny clean floors puts her in a verrrrry good mood. Someday I may even tell her about the Steam Mop. ;) see less

The size of this vacuum is great for me...light and small enough to move about with ease. I like the adjustable suction. It is great to pick up random cat litter and hair. It moves under beds and low furniture easily. I like the self winding cord with the colored warning marks and I like the clear cannister so I can see easily when it needs emptying. The tools stay confined to their compartment instead of falling off all the time like our previous small vacuum. see less

This vacuum is awesome! Considered a Dyson, but this has the same technology for 1/4 of the price. The suction is incredible. Previously had a Hoover Empower. The hoover just blew the loose dirt around on the hard floor, never seemed like it cleaned well and was very loud. Sounded as though the belt/motor had issues. The Bissell is quiet, smooth, and I am very happy with build quality. Nice features such as brush engagement/disengagement is very useful. Also, an important area is the hose and attachments. The hose is high quality and other attachments are great. Vacuum never loses suction. You should purchase this vacuum, it's GREAT!!! see less

I just received the vacuum today. I was originally looking at the Dyson pet vacuum but didn't have the money so I did my research and decided to buy the Bissell. I opened it as soon as it arrived today and began vacuuming right away! I had to empty the canister twice - that's how much dirt and pet hair my other vacuum wasn't picking up!!!!I have a black cat and a brown dog and the amount of hair that i can see, and can't see, it was amazing how much it picked up. I received this as a gift and I am so glad! Living in a condo, I don't have a lot of unused storage space. This cleaner is smaller that most, the handle compacts, is light weight, easy to use and cleans like a champ. I was looking at larger, more heavy duty cleaners and am glad that I got this one before buying something else. It's easy to pull out and clean throw rugs as well as full carpets. This little machine is fabulous for quick spot cleaning and heavy traffic areas. It is not the solution for whole home carpet cleaning, nor should it be considered an alternative to professional cleaning (or a more sophisticated deep cleaner) I use it to clean the hallways, entrance and anywhere else to pick up spilled food, tracked in dirt or whatever between professional cleaning. But you have heard all of that before..... If you ever thought about getting one of these little cleaners and were not certain that it could do the job, Let me tell you a story about how this little machine saved a carpet and how Bissell became the ONLY steam cleaner I will ever use. I recently painted the entire interior of my house, by myself. It took me several weeks to do the job, working one room at a time. (the whole house is carpeted) so furniture had to be moved out and dropcloths put down to protect the carpet from paint. Just as I was putting the last room back in order I noticed a spot missed on the ceiling. I put down a drop cloth under the spot and got my step stool brush and paint to touched up the spot. I prepared to step down and missed the step and I fell, not hurt, but the paint landed upside down on the carpet. I watched while paint spread over the carpet in horror. I had no time to get to the hardware store to rent a cleaner. So I grabbed my ReadyClean and a bucket of water and went to work. It wasn't easy, (and I hope I never have to do it again) but the ReadyClean picked up all of the paint (about half a gallon) I kept the paint diluted with water and managed to use the little cleaning machine to extract the paint! It was amazing. Not only did it save the carpet, but it still works perfectly (after some serious cleaning) These are great little machines. see less

I have a Corgi, who is 3, and track in dirt from walks into my condo and still have leftover cleaning patches from a "rear end issue" he had this past summer. I just used my Ready Clean for the first time and LOVE IT! It cleaned up my entry way and all of the leftover spots! I have a beige carpet too. I have had my Bissell steam mop cleaner (model 1867) for years and love it. I don't use it all the time but I recently moved and started it up and steam came out the side (side opposite the electric chord) instead of out the bottom. Have I lost a screw on the right side? There is a hole but I am not sure if it has always been there or whether a screw fell out. It is probably time for me to change the filter but I need to know if I need a new screw. I've looked at all the pictures and not one of them show that angle. There is also no blow-up diagram of the mop I can find. Could you please let me know the answer and where to find the info. thanks. see less

While I don't have pets, I do have kids and a husband (3rd kid!)....we live out in the country and are outside a lot working in the yard, fixing cars, etc....the laundry room especially takes a beating - particularly the floor! But with my steam mop, I can get that floor so much cleaner with less work than an ordinary mop! My son even likes to use it and my husband is not adverse to using it, too! see less

I recently moved into a beautiful 1912 duplex with original hardwood floors! It's gorgeous... but no matter how much I swept, vacuumed and mopped the floor never felt (or smelled) clean. I HATE the chore of sweeping and mopping. This vacuum does both. No hairs, no crumbs, no dust bunnies, no cereal left behind. Even the stickiness from soft drink or juice spills vanishes. Plus the floor dries within seconds! No puddles of water so kids does slip. I had mind for a couple of years and then we moved to a house that had very little flooring so I didn't use much and had a family member that needed it more, so I gave it to her. We have now moved to a house with lots of floor and every mop I buy makes the chore more & more difficult. I have had it!!! I am now purchasing another FLIP IT! I love it! I HIGHLY recommend it to ALL MOMs out there!! Helps make home lifa a little easier. see less

I've had this Bissell model for almost 3 years now that was purchased at Target! I have white cupboards, white tile floors, beige carpeting and a BLACK dog who ejects fur for months on end! This vacuum picks up the hair and dirt like no other. I replace the belt on the vacuum when I notice the vacuum leaving a little bit of hair behind and problem solved. Clean up is easy, cord is long enough to go through several rooms without changing outlets and the contour tool is great on furniture. I would buy another one of these in a minute! see less

I have owned this vacuum for 2 years and I love it. It cleans all hair from our sheppard/husky and long haired cat amazingly well. Our rugs and carpet looked brand new from the first use, and that has continued. I am surprised by the bad reviews, I remember seeing them before I purchased, and was skeptical. But none of the complaints have been an issue for me. The vacuum is easy to clean, dump hair right in the trash, rinse and reuse. I have replaced a broken belt, which cost [...] We use this vacuum constantly, heavy use and no issues. Highly recommend! see less

I have had this vacuum for several years now and I love it. It has great suction and get get into all those places that hair gets and an upright cannot. It lifts the hair up without getting clogged unlike my previous vacuums. I am about to purchase another one as my original has gotten dirty over the years due to all the pet hair. This vacuum was a gift from my mom and it has been awesome.it is easy to empty and it has more suction then any I've owned. Don't believe the reviews I have no Idea how you wouldn't like this vacuum. This product could not be more aptly named! I have two long haired dogs and, just like Rapunzel, could have spun a coat from the hair they leave throughout the house. Not any more, thanks to this wonderful light weight vacuum cleaner. It is powerful enough to suck up every stray hair from under the couch and has a large enough canister to complete the entire job before it needs to be emptied. i bought this little jewel based on the fact that my wife and i are about to get a puppy, and also based on the reviews left by other purchasers. Assembly: you literally take it out of the box and insert one screw to connect the handle to the actual unit (you can use a phillips or flat head screw driver). Attach the hose and attachments and you are golden. "suction": it is crazy to see how much filth this vacuum collected! i mean we keep our house pretty tidy (not to toot my own horn), but this vacuum sucks the life, [...], out of our house! this was a great choice. the "pet" attachment is great for cleaning stairs, and nooks/crannies. this was our first "real" vacuum, and we are extremely satisfied. after cleaning a seemingly clean 10x6 rug we had almost a half canister full of debris! be still my heart...hope this helps! see less
