after reading reviews, thought i'd try it. yes, it does dive to the ground at first try and even second and third. reminds me of my stryker c for advanced pilots. once i figured out how to toss it and allowing it to dip before gaining height, it really flew well. triming is a little tricky. i've learned that air hogs puts out some real junk, and some real good stuff. after a while, air hogs has taught me much patience. remember one thing, don't throw the plane, only gently toss it. if air hogs ever brings back the bi plane, it was best for beginners. see less

This plane is by far the biggest piece of junk and biggest hoax of a toy I've ever purchased. Hands down. Out of the box the plane just nose dives straight into the ground. Doesn't even attempt to fly. I am a engineer and spent several hours with this plane trying everything from bending the wings to changing the position of the battery all in a effort to try and get this toy balanced properly so it could have a chance of flight. Nothing worked and it was a complete waste of time. It's too bad because the Air Hogs helicopters work very well, I honestly don't think this plane EVER worked and it seems to be a complete marketing hoax. see less

This toy has fun lights and sounds, but it does not -as the description says- move on its own. That is apparently a generic description used for all the Road Rippers vehicles. My one complaint is that two of the helicopter blades will not stay straight...don't know if that's the way they're supposed to be or a defect. They fold up on themselves whenever you give it a spin. At first my son loved his new helicopter. Now after only having it a week it wont charge anymore. The on/off switch on the helicopter is very cheep and where the cord plugs in on the helicopter to charge it is very loose. I emailed the company, we will see if I get a reply or not. Doubt there is anything they will do, but for the price, I would expect it to last longer than a week! see less

bought this for my 11 year old after he saw the commercial. he has a few other Air Hogs that he loves but this one was by far the best...we've spent countless nights playing with and against each other...really is is insanely fun. see less

My son really wanted this toy for Christmas. When I saw it on sale online I asked my husband to pick it up. It is one of the Target items that can ONLY be purchased in the store. He went to three different stores and they wouldn't honor the sales price. Every store manager gave him a different reason. The most blatantly incompetent was "we were told not to give online prices anymore." However four days later an just a few days away from Christmas the the sale price is still listed on the Target website! We ended up buying it from a well know toy store for the price listed here. Really disappointed in Target! see less

This is one of the bigger planes in the series and has a bottom like a boat. It has lots of nice features, like the jaws on the front, the retractable landing gear, and especially the launcher on the back that earns it its name: scorpion. Seems to be very solid too. see less

Very cool controller using just your hand for direction and a joystick for height. Very stable and fun to fly. Crashed it more than a few times and it held up nicely. Highly recommend. see less

We bought one a while back as an additional gadget goodie for my 11 year olds birthday. To our surprise it works quite well and for as many brushes with walls and floors, is pretty sturdy considering. It was a very fun way to run a helicopter. It also comes with additional pieces in case you break something but my son managed to crash it into the ceiling fan and broke the side rotor off which was not included. I checked the company website and I could not believe it - they will send you replacement parts FREE! Great customer service. This one has restored our sons' faith in remote controlled copters which he'd lost on many occasions. see less

This is the first helicopter my son has played with for more than the opening day or two. It is very fun to fly because as you move your hand the helicopter follows along. Fairly good response and precision but I don't have anything to compare it to as this is the first one I've flown with my hand. I even pick it up now and again to fly. Battery life is about average - about 6-8 minutes. Recharge is pretty fast - about 15-20 minutes. Highly recommend! see less

Just picked this one up for my 8 yr old. This helicopter works as advertised. You can crash it and it is protected by the Cage and also rights it self. This gives you plenty of chances to learn how to fly it. Other helicopters I had were broken only after one or two crashes leaving the kids upset and discouraged. I like this one since I don't freak out when the kids are learning how to fly it, they can really learn on their own and not worry. I noticed the battery gets stronger after a few charge and discharges. Have Fun! see less
