MISSION STATEMENT At BEARPAW, our mission is to provide comfortable, fashionable and valuable products to complement one’s lifestyle – thus our tagline: Live, Life Comfortably. Built to deliver quality and style, every pair of BEARPAW shoes focuses on comfort and functionality, using the highest standards of craftsmanship. HISTORY Tom Romeo founded the BEARPAW brand in 2001 with the intention of redefining casual footwear by utilizing sheepskin, nature’s own technical fabric, to create comfortable and stylish shoes. Sheepskin naturally regulates body temperature so feet stay cooler and drier in the heat and warmer in the cold. From slippers and boots in the winter to sandals and flats in the spring, only the finest materials are used to produce BEARPAW shoes. Now with an extensive line of footwear that covers multiple categories all year round, BEARPAW is available throughout the United States and in over 45 countries around the world. BEARPAW will continue to offer the utmost in comfort while new products leverage their philosophy of creating stylish designs in premium materials for women, men and children. ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY We at BEARPAW care about the environment, from the people who make our boots to the packaging used to ship them. It is for this reason that we utilize sustainable materials in our products and the fur type depends on each individual product. We use real animal fur on some boots and materials utilized are sustainably sourced, as they are by-products of the meat industry. We have recently teamed up with PETA, and have since discontinued the use of rabbit fur in our products. Our BEARPAW headquarters is sustainably powered utilizing solar panels. SUSTAINABILITY We feel that, as business people creating products relative to an active lifestyle, we have a distinctive responsibility to act as stewards of the environment and the surrounding communities. It is imperative that we contribute towards the preservation and restoration of our natural world. We should help to ensure that there will be mountains, forests, beaches, and oceans for generations to come. We share a passion for sustaining the environment so that the actions we take now will not compromise future generations. We believe it is the responsibility of every company to take the appropriate steps toward creating less waste and to improve their processes. We are not satisfied with the status quo in our industry, so we have started by setting specific objectives. Our objectives: 1. Strive to be an industry innovator on environmental issues. 2. Motivate our suppliers and customers to share in our mission. 3. Commit to environmentally friendly ways to produce and package our products. 4. Educate and inspire our employees. 5. Reduce, reuse and recycle within our workplace. At BEARPAW, we recognize the importance of being responsible when it comes to the environment and our role in making the world a better place. As a result, we’ve created our own team… “Greener Living,” We have set expectations on our employees in terms of recycling and emphasize responsibility in energy use throughout our offices and homes. We will constantly evaluate our packaging efforts to determine where we can utilize recycled materials and where we can cut back on waste. We will communicate our expectations with our suppliers and provide them with ideas on how they can participate and help meet our objectives.
